  2. Hey you skinny bitches, I've got range. I range from Fast to PhuckinFast. And I bet I'm having more fun hauling ass than you're having floating around thinking about how much your little shoulders burn. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  3. You misunderstood me. When I say 'flat', I'm refering to glide. He needs to practice tracking and manuvering in an efficient body position, and not in a suck ass student diving delta track. And please believe me when I tell you, I'm all about forward speed. Nothing bothers me more than playing 'stall wars' with some floaty fucker. Cool vid. I've got a 'track or die' vid that I think is the same guy (espen). Balls of rock. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  4. This is a good website , along with www.flybirdman.com. Also, check out the manufacturer websites: www.phoenix-fly.com www.bird-man.com www.flyyourbody.com www.jii-wings.com www.matterclothing.com Phoenix Fly, Bird Man and Fly Your Body all have excellent user manuals which talk about the way the suits rig up and work, and also about body position. Do a bunch of tracking dives. Practice flat tracking and the wingsuit deployment position. Most importantly, talk to your local flockers and get their ideas about what you need to be doing. Get training and advice from them. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  5. We did night jumps this last weekend, and I cut some of the stiching up on the bottom of the mesh inside the knees of the suit, and slid some cyalumes into the leg wing. I also put a bunch inside the arm wings, and it gives a really cool effect (or so I'm told, couldn't really see it). Now if I could only figure out a decent way to get cyalumes into the very center two leg cells. There doesn't seem to be any crossports in the mylar ribs. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  6. OK, cool, that makes me feel better. Thanks for the info. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  7. She's still mad, huh? And I'll try to back light it less than you did. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  8. 25 - 100. Right. But what does that mean? I can't do a conversion if I've done over 100 jumps on the other systems? No, that makes no sense. So it's got to be dependent on the system you're coming from, but I can't find info anywhere about which systems go with which numbers. I'd guess it's based on how similar the systems are to Vectors. I've written RWS, but got no response. It's a secret, or something. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  9. Do you happen to know how many jumps you need on Strongs to get converted to Sigmas or Vectors? Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  10. I'd also like to say thanks to Todd, Kathy, and all the staff at SD Aggieland for another great boogie! The DZ is nicer every time I go there. Here's a couple pics from the weekend. There's more (and better) wingsuit pics here Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  11. Picture Time! Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  12. 2? You should have 3, an XXS, an XS and an XXL. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  13. No way. I'm positive that the suit was rigged correctly when I jumped it. And there was no FM to R, but I did ask TFPFI/E that was sitting next to me in the plane if it was hooked up correctly. It was. Now, that said, I'm not saying this is a design flaw. I thought I remembered reading something somewhere that said that you are supposed to be able to pull the wings loose, as a safety feature, but I can't find the post anywhere. Maybe I dreamed it up. Also, I'm sure the suit doesn't require as much pressure as I was putting on it. Voodew and I are getting our Prodigy demos in this week, so I'll definitely experiment more with this. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  14. I blew a wing on a prodigy flight. I pulled it in mid flight. I'm a big guy (230 exit weight), and I was pulling hard and driving hard to get forward and down to some flockers who were down the glide path from me. I'm absolutely positive it was rigged correctly. After it blew, I had no trouble flying straight, but getting decent desent rate was not going to happen, so I undid the other wing and dumped. I've only done 4 prodigy jumps, so I'm not sure I needed to be putting as much force into the suit as I was, but, in short, it is possible to physically pull the wings loose. Depending on the situation, this could be an advantage or a drawback. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  15. Katana 120, Velo 103. I'd love to jump either. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  16. I was there about 4 years ago. 5 little towns pretty much hanging on cliffs on the side of the mediteranean. Very nice scenery. Not much in the way of parties, it seemed, but I had the best meal I ate in 2 weeks in Italy in a restaurant called 'Il Cecio', in one of the towns (I forget which one, maybe Corniglia). There was a lot more european tourists there then americans, if that matters. Also, the local wine was great, and pretty cheap, especially the whites. Overall, it was a very chill, beautiful and laid back place. Nice beaches, too. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  17. Don't place too much stock in the gear ratings, just about everything gets four or five stars, including such treasures as the dolphin, the telesis, the falcon and the sabre. I've got a wings, bought new and fitted to me. Not a bad rig, but I really don't find it very comfy. The shoulder straps bite into my traps, and the leg straps pinch me. Other than that, it's a perfectly good rig. Not much you're going to buy new anymore isn't a good, safe rig. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  18. I don't know if I could spend any more time surfing dirty websites... There's only so many hours in the day. And, oh, the chaffing... Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  19. That's wild. I averaged 40 mph in the Sugarglider when I jumped it, and felt almost no physical strain. Lying on my back and holding my arms up a couple inches is more stressful. My first jump with the S3, by the time I got to 5000 ft, I was literally worried whether I'd have enough strength to get a good toss on my PC. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  20. Really? I've flown both, although not much (1 SG jump, 4 S3 jumps), and I found the SG to have almost no pressure, while the S3 was, well, an S3. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  21. Bullshit, Yes you are. Everyone is considering wingsuit BASE. Some are just further along than others. As for the rig measurements, they're all about the emergency handles in the front. I don't know what kind of BASE rig you have, but I doubt emergeny handle measurements are going to be a problem. As for how they're going to accomodate different sized rigs, I have no idea. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  22. Jesus. I leave you alone for an hour and you start propositioning Moffett. You're such a slut. This is you in bed-> Well, I guess I'll video, but only if Brian shows up in his orange shorty camera suit. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  23. Do you realize you misspelled the name of the very first person on your list? Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  24. The Sabre is definitely going to be the more reliable wingsuit canopy. A Crossfire @ 1.6 is going to be a handful with 300 jumps. Throw in the wingsuit and you're definitely looking at some wild cutaways, plus challenging post deployment procedures. I spent about 70 wingsuit jumps under a stiletto 120 (at 800+ jumps), and then upsized to a spectre 170, and I'm a happier wingsuit jumper for it. If your goal is BASE, stay away from small ellipitical stuff, and get experience with 7 cells. One way or the other, be careful with the crossfire. Just when you think you know what you're doing, that's when it will bite you in the ass. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  25. Man, I wish I was like the guy that runs that site. Life must be so much more exciting when you're batshit insane. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
