  1. Sad to hear this news. What a nice guy. BSBD.
  2. It's been 5 years since I've dug up this old thread. Thinking about you a lot today, Mr. Mike Ramon. You were an amazing friend. I miss you tons. xoxoxoxox
  3. Terrible news. What a nice guy. I knew Mike from the Hellfish crew, way back in the day. He was always a LOT of fun to hang out with. BSBD.
  4. Very sorry to hear this. I always enjoyed spending time with her at boogies back in the day. She was an incredibly nice and caring person -- a true adventurer! BSBD
  5. Larry, my deepest condolences. Very sorry for your loss. You are your wife are in my thoughts and prayers.
  6. It's been many years since I had the pleasure of hanging out with Ken "Big Boy" Bernek. I started jumping at Skydive Tecumseh and Ken quickly became a good friend. We jumped together, road-tripped together, and partied together. Ken was a really good person and I agree, I never saw him EVER in anything but a great mood. He spread positive energy wherever he went. I moved away and didn't keep in touch with many people from up North, but I was incredibly saddened to hear of Ken's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his close friends and family. I'm sure this is a big loss for many.
  7. :( Oh, no, Kevin. I'm so sorry. I remember her from many moons ago at Skydive Tecumseh. :( Sweet puppy she was.
  8. Dave Brown was that guy.... infectious smile, big heart, full of life and love. I only knew him on the surface, but he had a certain glee to him that spread to everyone he interacted with. Thanks for the jumps DB. Especially my very memorable 800th. One of my favorites and one of the best videos I have in my collection. Fly free.
  9. I still remember your smile and your laugh like you were standing right here next to me.
  10. Oh no. I am very sorry to hear this. Damn. He was one of a kind.
  11. I still think about Mike nearly every day. Miss you buddy.
  12. We need your help. If everyone just donated ONE JUMP we would make a major difference together. See what you can do. http://pages.teamintraining.org/nca/wdw10/lbowmanbcw Blue skies my friends.
  13. I'm very glad to have known Harry. He was a genuinely wonderful person with an excellent energy to him. Great smile, warm heart. My thoughts and prayers are with Debbie and his friends and family.
  14. Are you saying that at this particular dropzone (Orange) they are mere passengers? I see you live in Alexandria. Is this your home dropzone and you know this is the attitude or management? That would seem strange to me. After all this is the home of the USPA ISP. As someone who has flown video for orange for years, I can tell you that is not the case. Orange is not a tandem mill. We do not have tandem passengers, we have tandem students. That is how we refer to them, and that is how they are treated. Orange is a very safety oriented dropzone. This is a tragic, very unfortunate, isolated incident. Prayers for all those involved.
  15. Quick update on Rob for those that have asked. He is doing very well all things considered. The surgery to put hardware in this leg and pelvis was successful and helped to reduce a lot of the pain by setting the bones back where they belong. The doctors believe he should recover fully over time. Your messages have been read to him and he is very greatful for all of the support from the skydiving community. Rob will be moved home sometime next week to start his long road to recovery. I am working on getting that address for those that want to send cards, etc. Currently he is still in ICU, so I'm hesitant to provide that address as hopefully it will be changing soon. I will not post Rob's address, but I will PM it to those who request it.
  16. I know a lot of you here are friends with Rob. I am on my way to hang out with him at the hospital. I will read him the messages you leave here. Or if you want you can PM me something to read him.
  17. Hey Pete, I think about Pops a lot too. He was a great man. Him and Junior pretty much took me through the static line program. He was Mr. Safety, always looking out for the newb. I can still hear him saying "red... silvah.... red..... silvah" with his NY accent. My favorite Pops story is from when he and I landed off after I hurt my neck real bad on an opening. We landed in a big field and were quickly surrounded by big fat cows. They were staring us down and I was getting real nervous. Pops told me to stay behind him and started waving his canopy frantically shouting "Yaw! Yaw!" I looked at him and said... "does that really work?" He replied "It works on TV!" From that day forward Pops called me Cowgirl. Miss you Pops. You'll always have a place in my heart.
  18. Last post on this topic I can find is from 2005. VRW people... what are your thoughts on grippers. Pros/cons? Where would you recommend getting them or not.... upper arm, upper leg, lower leg?
  19. You have a girl. She's hot. AND nice. The rest of us are still trying to figure out how you pulled this one off.
  20. It's side-mounted with an L bracket. I had one of those screws with the big black plastic knob. It just made it easier to deal with when you have gloves on or are in a rush. But I think you are right with the 1/4" screw. I guess I'll just go by the hardware store. But if anyone knows where to get one of those black knobby deals, let me know!!
  21. I've lost my nice camera screw for my pc110. I've had it for so long I can't remember where I got it or what size it was. Can anyone help me out and point me toward a replacement? Thanks.
  22. Awesome! We will be waiting the tables! Teehee. Cya there!
