  1. I’m thinking I’ll try to hit San Diego and Oceanside at least once and hit up Perris and Elsinore for longer days. We’ll see how nice work is to me.
  2. I’ll be working in the San Diego area in mid September but I’ll be doing night shifts so I should be free every day from about 10am to 10pm (minus commute to Kearney Mesa). I was wondering if anyone had current dropzone recommendations or would be interested in jumping together. I’ll have a car and my rig, feel free to reply or send me a message.
  3. A friend who is in the military and currently detailed to the White House press corp says that GOP and White House leadership refers to Steve Bannon as the “Evangelical Whip” in casual conversation, and that his use in the campaign and later disposal were predetermined. I guess he’s the guy that you can pay to buy evangelical votes regardless of the candidate.
  4. I’ve been jumping Safires and Crossfires for a long time, but spent my last four jumps on rented Sabre2 canopies. I hate the openings (harder and more off heading than what I’m used to) but once open they fly great and have an amazing flare.
  5. Wendy beat me to the historical aspect (I immediately pictured the Natives vs. Irish from Gangs of New York when I saw the Tweet), but I think I’m even more bothered by the percentage of the electorate that respond to this stuff. The fact that this calculated political strategy gets results says as much about many of us as it does about the president.
  6. I agree with some of what he says, but can’t stand when he tries to pigeonhole every non religious person into a Tolstoy character. He has the same problem that so many pundits do, claiming to put facts before feelings until his underlying irrational base is exposed and then backpedaling into vagueness before the subject gets changed. You can find a video on YouTube where he has a discussion with Matt Dillahunty. Pay attention to the black and white facts he pushes about curing smoking and atheism. He makes broad claims and then backs away from talking about his personal beliefs and carries his conclusions too far without backing up the arguments.
  7. I just tell them I want the $850/hour coached special.
  8. Some of the new developments off I-10 are pretty nice, Jimmie Kerr Boulevard, on the other hand, is the boulevard of broken dreams. I've been thinking of moving there so I could live like a king and jump at Eloy while avoiding the cold of the upper midwest.
  9. I can only type utter bullshit over the internet, in person I project an undeniable sarcastic tone that overshadows any words I speak. Maybe a speechwriter, I could limit myself to 140 characters.
  10. I read the attachment. Totally clears the president. Thank you!
  11. If you can afford it, joining a tunnel league down in Park Meadows will hasten your progression and hook you up with like minded people to jump.
  12. This is why arguing is pointless. Either you believe or you don't. It will never make sense, it never can. Some people just need to believe. There is no use trying to take that away from them. Of course, exactly what they believe is never the same for any two people. Just as many believers will place Bundy in hell as in heaven. Meh,....whatever. I’m not trying to take anything away from anyone, just pointing out the contradictions with the beliefs of many religions. Any type of logic and morality ends up getting replaced with the need to fail a test of credulity. I think there is a far more moral and constructive way to think and act.
  13. Can Bundy sit next to Dauhmer and Hitler in heaven while people who grow up elsewhere living near perfect lives burn in hell for eternity? Is that His perfect mercy or His perfect Justice?
  14. This administration is afraid to say Christian Terrorism.
  15. They sell block time at $850/hour coached, but you can buy it in increments as small as 10 minutes. So I book three 10 or 15 minute sessions per week and pay as I go. You don’t have to do it all at once.
  16. I don't understand why they haven't ditched him yet. They can easily replace him with another pro life conservative who will vote the same without all of the baggage attached to his background.
  17. I'm just starting hour 3 with Rich. I've been taking a break from jumping nursing a reconstructed ACL, PCL and meniscus and cant wait to hit the skies after all the tunnel time. I'm doing the $850/hour coached special that they have here (and probably all of the ifly tunnels).
  18. They're the younger cousin of outrigger canoes in Hawaii that claim the limbs of unsuspecting tourists that paddle in the waves of the shore break.
  19. I have a Curv with a Nano 160, Safire3 149, and Vigil 2. I was on a Crossfire2 129 but am just starting to jump again after getting 2 new ligaments in my knee and am wondering if I would be happier with something larger. Eventually I may want to work my way down to something smaller and faster again but have been jumping a 210 and 190 rental since I came back last week and am wondering if a 170 would be a good canopy for the season, but 150 is the biggest that my Curv will hold.
  20. Does anyone here have experience on trading rigs? I want to upsize but already have the largest canopy I can fit in my current container. I'm wondering if I should sell or if it's worth trying to trade with someone downsizing.
  21. I used to pack a Pulse 190 into an I34, I can't imaging bagging it one size down.
  22. Does anyone have a recommendation who to track down for a block of coached tunnel time? Should I just call the tunnel directly or is it like Ogden where you can get a much better deal dealing with coaches?
  23. I've believed the possibility for a long time. First, I developed a sense of spiritual awareness at an early age. Second, God said that Abraham's seed would be like grains of sand. Third, all born-again Christians are adopted into the family. You brought up the notion of conjecture about how my brain was wired. I added on to it with my guess in an attempt to confirm your supposition. Oh, you should try 23andMe. They might be able to tell you for sure. What if he finds out that he’s the descendant of a Phillistine slave owned by Arab Hebrews? Ron, would you gladly give your life and those of your family back to the people who own you with divine rights of inheritance as outlined in the Bible?
  24. An Orthopedist will do a series of tests (Lachman and Pivot) that can isolate what if any ligaments are torn. You shouldn’t try to do it yourself and if they are positive most likely an MRI will be ordered. Partial tears in any ligament will heal, the only ligament that finds it’s way back after a full tear is the Medial Collateral Ligament. Anything else requires repair or you can live without at a lowered activity level. I went 24 years without an ACL (and partial PCL) but had surgery last winter to build an ACL and repair the PCL as I keep damaging the MCL and LCL every time I pivot or stop running quickly. I too am curious what the diagnosis will be, come back and share after someone qualified takes a look at it.
