  1. Because if we've learned nothing else from Jerry Springer at least we know not to write a check for our mistress' abortions.
  2. Perhaps God will just slide California into the Pacific in order to save America? I sure hope not. The economics of losing the world's eighth largest GPD would drop the United States into a depression that would make the downurns of the 1930s and early 2000s look infinitesimal. http://www.lao.ca.gov/LAOEconTax/Article/Detail/90 Having recently spent a week in San Diego working I understand why people will pay what they do to live in the best weather and some of the best geography in the country.
  3. Hey Ron, If It comes out that he has convinced multiple women to have abortions and paid for those abortions along with hush money will that change your opinion at all?
  4. Jay, If nothing existed and then god created everything, he created sin. If I am not free to do something that god doesn’t know I will do, then I don’t have free will given by god, especially if I am his creation. I tried to keep those two simple, and am genuinely curious where the flaws are in those two statements.
  5. I "heard" you the first time. I'll ask again. What specifically are you looking for? I don’t know specifically. If your god existed and manifested in reality he could and would know and be capable of providing it. Is he non existant or does he not care if I fail the credulity test and face eternal torment? If he is truly all knowing did he know he would be burning me when he formed my soul in the womb? Why make the only thing that matters in life a test in belief that the overwhelming majority of people on Earth will fail and only give a hint of easily disproven “evidence” in languages that almost all people will never speak, read, or write? It certainly doesn’t meet the definition of omnibenevolent that I use.
  6. And Ron, What did Jesus give? He started out as God in heaven and if you were correct he is now God in heaven (and will be for all eternity). The sacrifice he made was to fulfill a rule that he created in the first place after creating flawed humans while knowing what we would do. I don’t see the sacrifice, if he has lost nothing and is still an infinite god.
  7. But if Jesus suffered temporarily, knowing that he was headed back to heaven anyway (and that his suffering was needed to create a loophole for the law he made) and I will suffer infinitely for finite crimes won’t I end up suffering more than he did for the benefit of others?
  8. Nope. We're saying the same thing. No. You both do not. From your post No. 230: "You weren’t created to be a sinner. You’re a sinner because you choose to sin." Ron claimed, we all are born sinners, means even a newborn is a sinner. I think it's appropriate to just call Christian belief a bunch of weasel words - that's what old people use to do when the end is coming closer, years can be counted on one hand - so: flight forward. If it helps .... why not?? It is my understanding that we are born with a sin nature because of original sin. A child is considered innocent until they reach the age of accountability. That is, when the child can discern two options the tendency is to choose in favor of egocentric reward and not to choose spiritual relationship with God. The latter decision is sin. So if I drown my children before they reach the age of accountability have I ensured their eternal place in heaven? In doing so have I sacrificed my soul to save theirs? And if so, have I given more than Jesus in that I will burn for eternity while he is back in heaven?
  9. Having recently worked in east Saint Louis on the Illinois side (Cahokia) I really think that city should have held the top spot.
  10. Well even if the rules of the after life said they could go to heaven, I think they should refuse to go just on principle. What good are you if you don't stand up for your principles. I personally wouldn't mind if Stephen Hawkins is allowed in, but if Richard Dawkins, or Christopher Hitchens show up I'm starting a petition to them kicked out. Mostly though, where ever Stephen Hawkins is I hope he can ditch that wheel chair and go for a walk and stretch for a bit. Do you think that if a god existed he/she/it could shut Christopher Hitchens up?
  11. How does anyone know heaven exists? The only information I can possess gives me no reason to think that being dead will be any different than before I was born.
  12. Having landed two Micro Raven 150s at loadings between 1.3 and 1.4 (one in Longmont, CO at 90+ degrees and 5000’) I can verify that stayhigh is correct. They are still the only reserve that I have landed, and both could have been stood up, but neither could be taken past my stomach without starting to accordion and stall. I have since lost weight and now have a larger Nano in my container. I don’t know how that lands and hope never to find out.

White American Country Jesus is way better than that Arab Hebrew socialist in the book.
  14. There are a large number of factors that go into making a canopy perform correctly. The length of a jumpers arms, their risers, how they sit in the harness in relation to the risers and several other things determine a good length for brake lines. As a manufacturer, shipping a canopy with too much is better as shortening a line is easier than replacing one. My rigger/instructor worked with me to get my brake lines as short as possible without deforming the canopy when I use front risers. I feel like that is a good starting point.
  15. I've found that Safires (2s and 3s) and Pilots are susceptible to too-long brake lines. If your brake lines are even an inch too long, you'll miss out on about 30% of the flare on the bottom end. Where as a Sabre 2 or Crossfire has more power evenly throughout, so if the brake lines are too long it doesn't affect the bottom end as much. At least that's what I've found. I'll second this, and add that once dialed in my old Safire2 had as strong a flare as the Sabre2 (same size) that I was jumping before. The Safire3 is rumored to have a stronger flare than the 2.
  16. A couple of years ago I was in Eloy checking stuff out at Rigging Innovations during a wind hold. The entire staff there was raving about the Speed 2000, both how much you could get into a container and the overall quality of the materials and build. It made me wish I hadn't already purchased a reserve.
  17. Rushmc, what specifically did the Obama administration do to which you are referring?
  18. And his god will give him all the assistance he deserves. I’ve never been so happy to be wrong, although it sounds like it’s not over yet.
  19. https://www.nbcnews.com/card/early-exit-poll-republicans-white-evangelicals-think-accusations-against-moore-n828896 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance To me, those two links sum it up. While I was raised in a religious household and truly respect religious people, I don't respect the ideas they hold. Evangelical voters in the United States are among the most dishonest, inconsistent, indecent and inhumane people when certain issues are on the table. If Satan won the Republican nomination for president by promising to ban abortion the Evangelicals would turn out in droves to shove him into office without a single look back. I'm just waiting for the news that Alabama voters have done the wrong thing followed by the gloating from the apologists. It's easy to use some stupid god claim to propel yourself to power, no god ever shows up to prove anybody wrong.
  20. There is no reference to God being omnibenevolent. God is not fair. God is just. The third part of the triad is omnipresent. It is the Judeo-Christian belief that nothing existed before God. So, where did God come from? He is the I am that I am. He is the Alpha and the Omega. If God is truly all powerful and doesn’t want Satan to fool us, then why doesn’t he do anything to stop him, and why did he create him in the first place?
  21. Ron, I have two real questions for you: Is God omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent? Did anything exist before God created it?
  22. The Rigging Innovations bag looks and works very similarly but uses magnets instead of tuck tabs. Stuffing lines into the bag feels weird at first, but 300+ jumps later I haven't had a problem.
