  1. Some do, but I know Enterprise does not. Something about being robbed. The last time I rented from Avis I had to give a credit card to secure the rental but was able to pay cash when I turned the car in. Not sure why a dz would not accept cash. 2. I would say, get a mouse pad and keep it in your drawer. Then figure out a way to casually mention to him that with a light based mouse that they don't function like the old roller ball ones did (which, if he had one it probably would just need a good cleaning, which you could have done before he gets to work) and that a mouse pad might make it easier for him. Then you could say something like: I just happen to have an extra mouse pad if you would like give it a try to see if it helps. Maybe he just doesn't realize that a mouse pad could make all the difference. The trick would be to figure out how to say it so that he would want to try it and not get defensive. I'm surprised no one complained to the boss about it. The place I used to work had people that had no issues complaining to the boos, and usually about much smaller and less annoying things :-/ "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

  4. I use weebly.com for my website and it has served me very well. With a little bit a work you make it look really good. I put my own together and managed to get on the first page of Google for a few good keywords :-) If you go with them and want any advice pm me and I will do my best to help. You can get your own domain name, but I would get it from an outside source as I am not sure if weebly will let you take your domain name if you decide to change to another provider. 5. Unfortunately, until something happens and they get arrested for a dui or hurt someone somehow, they probably won't see it as an issue. You could do some research into the long term effects of drinking, like alcoholic dementia, pancreatitis (sp?), etc. But even that may not help. I have known many people that drink/drank to varying degrees and seen several different effects of most everything, things that have worked and things that have not. Alcoholism is a demon that most don't seem to be able beat. I know a few people that have said they will not quit drinking because they don't like their life without it, even though they have been in the hospital with alcohol related issues. And a few of them the doctor said they will die if they keep drinking, but they still drink "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

Try signing up with every temporary employment and placement agency you can find. It might not be steady work at first but they should be able to help you find something. Maybe it is time to look at a new career path. But aside from that, keep having faith and try to focus on what you want and not what you don't want. I know it is difficult when things are tough but it is possible. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

  13. I have not read all of the posts, so I am not sure if anyone else has said this or not. But, when I was a packer I really appreciated it when the jumper would stow their brakes, un-collapse the slider and un-collapse the pilot chute. A lot of the times I was the only packer, so I was doing tandems, students, and up jumpers when I could. On busy days, the ones those things did that got packed first I would say that I generally got about $1 a pack job when people tipped. However, I did have one guy that tipped more, brought me food and something to drink, and he pretty much always got packed first. One boogie that I went to he was the only one I packed for. I was there to jump not pack, but he gave me an irresistible offer, breakfast brought to my tent every morning, food & drinks when ever I wanted it (just had to tell his kids I was hungry or thirsty), and told his kids if I needed a ride on his golf cart they were to bring me first even if he was going the other way :-) So, basically, if your treat your packer well they will generally take very good care of you. It is hard work and not everyone seems to appreciate them as much as they should, and the ones that do generally are appreciated very much as well. 17. First off, is there anything wrong with the cat that you know of? Why is it emaciated? Why is it limping? Has she even been checked out to see what the cause for those issues are? I would suggest having the cat checked out to see if there is anything that can be done to help the cat before making any final decisions. If you think the current vet is biased then bring it to another vet for a second opinion. Just because she is 17 years old doesn't mean she is on her last leg either. I know of several people that have had cats live into their 20's, so don't use age as a determining factor. Also, just because the cat is cranky does not mean its life is over. I know lots of cranky old people. Usually if a cat is cranky it is because something is wrong with them. So I would check to see what is wrong with her and what it would take to get her better. If she was in pain she would let you know by crying or making some kind of noise. Aside from that, I would tell her that it is her cat and she needs to be the one to make the decision. Because if she has any doubts afterwards she could get mad at you for making that decision for her, even if she says she won't. Especially if there is not much love between you and the cat. She took the responsibility of getting the cat and taking care it its whole life, now she needs to take the responsibility of making the decision to ends its life or not. If she can't make the decision, then I would say it is not time. I personally would never make that decision for someone else. You can offer advice and suggestions, but ultimately she has to be the one to make the ultimate decision. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"
  18. If I had known I would have stopped in. I almost went in there but when it wasn't Houlihan's I didn't go in. I am now sitting on my plane waiting for the lightening to clear so I can get home. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

  21. Maxing out your credit card will hurt your credit score, especially if you do it all at once and right when you first get the card. Though if you pay it off your credit score should go back up. Your credit score is based on many things and how much credit you have available versus the amount you are using plays a big part in that. Once the introductory rate is over the rate usually jumps to 14-19%, so make sure you check that as well before you do anything. And don't apply for every card that comes in the mail, because then you have to much credit and are a risk. Though it is good to have one credit card that you use every now and again and keep for years, as that is one of the best ways to show/have credit history. If you can make $400+ payments for the next year with no problem, then why have you not been saving that same $400+ the last few months? You would have had enough money to buy a complete used rig if you had. So, to me, you will not end up making all $400+ to the credit card company for 12 months straight (a boogie will come along, other new gear that you just have to have, etc.) and you'll end up paying way more than its worth for the gear and possibly end up with a huge credit problem. But the credit card companies will love you for all the interest you are paying them, regardless of what your credit score is. But I agree with everyone else, get used gear to start off. Chances are you will want to downsize within a year or two and when you do that then maybe buy a new rig. If you are still a student, like your profile says, give yourself time in the sport to make sure you'll be sticking around long enough to make your investment worth it. Plus, in the beginning your much better off putting that money towards learning to skydive rather than new gear, IMO. It will serve you much better in the long run in this sport. 24. I think it is funny that you say to keep personal life separate from business but yet you are posting on here (personal life) while at work (business life), or at least it seems that way as you are posting during normal business hours. And, though you will probably not like what I have to say and get offended, I am NOT trying to suck you into an argument. Just because you don't like what I have to say and that I don't agree with you does not mean I am trying to suck you into an argument. I am just pointing out the fact that it seems like you are talking out of both sides of your mouth, depending on which side serves you the best at the moment. Just like your typical old school thinking corporate America manager and politicians. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"
