  3. 1. Save some money. 2. Some type of health insurance is good for just incase your canopy control sucks. 3. Every USPA DZ will make you do this. 4. This will give you a great head start to learning to skydive, if you are able to control your stablity in the air. Now you just need to learn emergency procedures and to fly a canopy. 5. Get references. Refer to answer #1 Be safe. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  4. What you did is not called a brainlock. The first one should have been avoided by "READING" you altimeter and knowing what it had on it, and not just glancing at the needle. After you did your first scan of it and seeing it was at 11,000ft, then looking at it again and reading the same thing, you should have used common sense to pull if you couldn't tell what altitude you were at. The second is a common thing when using different gear than you trained on. Not a wise choice, but maybe the only one you had... Practicing before you jump is something you always want to do when jumping NEW TYPES of gear. Make the jump as easy as possible so you dont forget what you have practiced also. As for being a common thing? I wouldn't say it common , but it does happen. Be as safe as you can on every jump and try and stay current to prevent this from happening. Or brianlock like this may lead to you reaching the ground BEFORE your parachute opens next time. Be safe. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  7. Having SO much material over your head (2 canopies) will have you going slow enough to do a great PLF. There is no need to flare and possibly change the configuration of the canopies just before you land. Most of all try to AVOID this situation of 2 canopies out........ www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  8. Unstow the brakes and steer it to a landable area, unless you know how to steer with your rear risers on the leading canopy and be able to controll it to a landable area. Be safe. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  15. If you dont love to teach. If your going to be PICKY whom you take. If you are not into getting to the DZ when it opens and staying till sunset every weekend. If you dont like someone else packing your rig. And MOST of all.... If you are not going to do tandems about every weekend and stay current at them as a weekend warrior...... Do not get a tandem rating.... Find another way to make extra money, and while your working, think of us having fun at the DZ. Be safe. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
