Download a better image editing program. One I use is available from http://www.irfanview.com Then you can use the printscreen button to capture your picture... open irfanview go edit->paste then your picture shows up in the window... file save as jpeg... if it is too large you can save it with less colors.

As far as safety goes being current vrs uncurrent will give you a few advantages.. you will know your opening sequence better and prolly detect a opening issue sooner... you will be more up to snuff with what your landing picture looks like. There are other examples of how being current can make you safer, but most safety related factors you can practice fairly well without jumping. Just like practicing your emergency procedures prepares you for your next cutaway, thinking through a jump when you are in a quiet place can keep you from losing your "edge" so quickly. If I was an infrequent jumper I'd keep my opening altitudes up around the A license or student alts. (Depending on how infrequent). Giving me the extra time I may need to clear a mal or decide to chop it. Also giving myself plenty of time to setup and enter the landing pattern and feel my canopy again. I'd make sure to land in the "studenty" areas of the dz's I was at so I could do the relaxed landing patterns that are common in those areas. If I had landing issues and cash was the reason I was not jumping as much as I'd like I'd invest in a hopnpop day hopefully with someone giving me tips and shootin vids... As long as the infequent jumper exersices good judgement I can't think of a reason they would be dangerously unsafe. Some things in skydiving are "all or nothing" devote a shitload of time or don't bother. I doubt many people on the 300 way were making recurrency jumps the day before, but I jumped with lots of people this year who could only do a handfull of jumps a month and I never felt unsafe with any of them.

I bought some nike sunglasses with the autotintin lenses. I am wearing them in the pic to the right. they fit under my z1 without touching the visor. z1 with low profile glasses in my favorite combo. It's all personal preference though just jump a couple different combos.

That's what I do... breath through the airhole, works wonders I jump in Maine whenever they put a load up. jumped in some pretty cold weather and fogging hasn't been a big problem with my Z1. my Z1 fits really well so when I breath through my nose the air goes into the cold air thats coming in the air slots... Aviation grade into fogging stuff works well on my glasses that sit under my z1 never needed it for the visor.

I've met the guy who does the uf comics he's a cool guy, but generally as soon as you turn your back on him you are assulted with nerf weaponery. He knocks down small kids also.

Slight bouts of apprehension will come and go, nothing wrong with not jumping when things feel odd. It's funny when the creeping fear comes back. From time to time I would forget for a minute that the air "catches" me when I jump and worried about "falling" from the sky... but the next time I jumped the air caught me and I was fine. Or the first time I found myself under canopy after a high hopnpop... 13k or so.. I noticed that the little yellow cutaway cable and the white loop that is going through the top of my three ring doesn't really look impressive enough to hold me up..... the lines to my canopy also looked tiny... but it worked and I landed and everything worked out :)

I wouldn't bend your knees so much that your shins were parallel with the ground, landing like that will be very hard on your knees. I think of it as a squat so your feet are still under you but there is a bit of "slack" or spring in your knees. Lifting your legs a bit lets you bleed of speed slightly lower to the ground and if you bleed off so much that your canopy drops you you don't have as far to fall. Thinking to pick up your feet a bit may keep you from "stepping off" the ride so soon. As for when to step "down", I don't remember steping down at all I just wait for the ground to come to me at the end of my flair. I hate to slide in my booties so I try to avoid that..

Thanks for the post If I looked at the riser in person I'm guessing the length of the white locking loop/ it being frayed would have been the only thing that I noticed. Hopefully I'm more educated now ;)

I'd be very nervous taking any vacinations that were recommended before any known outbreaks. I'm not sure I feel safe with the way most hospital warehouses work in regards to preventing drug tampering. Better to leave the storage of these Vacines to someone who can handle it until their use is required.. Having them stockpiled, securly, with a plan to distribute them in a timely manner seems to be a better plan. Once we have enough smallpox vacine to vacinate everyone the chemical weapons of choice will just change. In my opinion vacinations beforehand for the general public provide very little assurance. If we are bothering to vacinate a large population of people (and statisicly killing around 2-3 in a million) we are admitting we do not think we can stop the chemical weapons from coming in. If we can't stop the chemical weapons from coming in someone will bring one that we can't cure. I'm not going to get vacinated before an outbreak. I don't think it would change my opinion on the war all that much as it would just bring the urgency of our protection a little closer to home.

It looks like you might have steped down to soon. Like your foot reached for the ground instead of waiting for the ground to come to you. If you step down while you still have significant forward speed you have to either walk/run it out, PLF or tumble. Edit: ps I LOVE the sound effects of the onlookers...
