Thanks guys. Sounds like a good idea...there's got to be a reason that some of those full-face helmets have cracked lenses and I don't think I want to find out without one! I'll just flip it up til jump run and open it under canopy. Thanks again! Pammi

We had someone cutaway from his main because the slider 'was too loud'. They told him they must have forgot the slider 'muffler' on that one. Not nice, but funny! And the rigger got a bottle of Parrot Bay outta the deal. LOL! Pammi

This is probably a stupid question...but anyway, here goes... How many of you wear a full-face helmet in the summer too? I had to choose what kind of helmet to get and got a Z1 because it seemed to make sense especially when it's colder, but I'm wondering how friggin hot that'll be when it warms up. Just keep it open until you're getting ready to get out I assume? Pammi

For those who've been to Quincy before...I know that there are people just everywhere. I should have no problem getting enough experience (50 jumps/B license right?) to go by then, but how are the low-timers treated? Are there usually others like us that they put together for loads and plenty of landing space? :) I would hate to get in the way of someone doing a swoop because I'm not used to jumping with that many people! LOL! Did the same thing as soon as I left work (a bit early...had to get out in the warmth and sunshine!). Merrick and I took her outside and let it fly a little, but the winds were pretty slow for once so she didn't stay up too long. It was fun tho, and the neighbors were standing in their front yard watching...was pretty funny :) Pammi (didn't try the roof thing tho...I forgot...I'm scared of heights...lol!)

The guy I've been getting coaching from recommends that you check to make sure it's cocked again after getting the canopy in the bag, or if you want, while you're lieing on it getting the air out just before. He says that while messing with your canopy to pack it, there's a possibility of it coming un-cocked. Anyone find that to be true (if you cock it before you start messing with the canopy)? Pammi

ROFL! Can't believe I didn't see this earlier! Hey Skreamer, you know what Merrick told the DZO during our first jump class last year (we were still dating)? That he was hoping for some hot sex after we jumped...that it would get me all worked up for some circus sex :) Like I need a reason! But everyone laughed until the DZO looked at him and said "Yup, that'll do it!" Now everyone knows...we just skydive for the hot sex after :) Pammi

Hmm...well, I have started drinking Whey Protein drinks in the mornings even during the week to get my protein that I usually wouldn't get since I don't eat a lot of meat (just cuz I'm dieting...I'm not a vegetarian). Since I've started doing some weights in the evenings during my workout and am trying to build some muscle, I need more the the veggies and rice I mostly eat now. Plus the energy helps on skydiving days. I'm with the rest of em tho..it's basically whatever I can gulp down quickly, if anything at all. On one hand it's great for the diet cuz I don't really care if I eat and sometimes get naseous if I do anyway since my nerves are on edge, but then we all usually go out to dinner Saturday nights and I eat really badly...oh well. :) Subway seems to be a general fav also of everyone at our DZ. Okay, I'll jump in also. I'm in asset management tracking computer hardware for a large corporation and have applied to begin school in the fall to be a programmer. Perhaps I'm a wanna be geek? LOL! I also have built some webpages for a few small businesses. Along the lines of geekiness...how many of you have a fantasy similar to mine. I want to skydive into my high school reunion! I have this dream of doing this long swoop right in front of the cutesy ex-cheerleaders (who knows...maybe thwack a couple of em in the process) and land right in front of the football god so I can tell him to kiss my a**. I was queen of geeks and nerds in high school

I actually tried some of Aerodyne's new Superbandz but ended up chickening out and taking them off before even trying them because they were sssooo tight! I had to use a power tool to even pull the lines through it was so tight, and there was no way I could get my fingers in there to pull them through. So I just put some slightly bigger rubberbands back on. *shrug* It might've been fine...wish I could tell ya, but decided to stick with tried and true for now :) Jumping my own pack job for the first time was nerve-racking enough without trying something new :) Pammi
