  1. I'm also 5'4" and have a D2 Dolphin. I guess I'm spoiled after jumping that huge student gear because mine is pretty comfortable and I have a rather short torso...I also don't have quite as large a canopy either tho, a Tri 160 and Tempo 170 reserve. A guy down at my DZ was telling me a couple of weekends ago that he bought one of those Micro-Vectors (believe they are called Microns) for his wife and she loves it..it's much smaller and 'deeper'. So it will stick out a bit further on your back, but be shorter perhaps. You might check it out... Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko
  2. Those are great! Thanks for sharing Fruce! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko
  3. Hey! No one told me that bounce proof thing! I'm gonna get that done before my next jump! Pammi *gasp* Ms. Supersition missed one! "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko
  4. Hmmm...I think I'd do 2,000 or even 1,800. I mean, I've done 1500 already, why not eh? LOL! J/K!! But I think I really would try it, but maybe at 1800, have the pilot chute in my hand already and leave in a poised or something. Sounds fun :) Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko
  5. Um, Jess...Get this...I'm a FRIGGIN STUDENT after a year!! *sigh* Yes, that's me...Ms.F***-up in freefall :) LOL! I have 26 jumps and my next one is to be my graduation one. They don't even know how to classify me anymore...I started out IAD, but have been doing two-ways with a coach for the last 8 jumps or so working on my 'issues'. Now they tease me that I'll be "B-qualified" before I even get my "A". So don't worry about it! I screwed up by taking 5 months off right after my low-pull, but there was no help for it since it was a family emergency situation. Now I'm back and I'll have my "A" in a month..I am determined! LOL! Good luck girl! Pam "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

    Young and new

Hey Erica... welcome! It's always good to see another chick skydiver! So tell us a bit more about yourself... (Another young 'un to be jealous of cuz she prob'ly is a way better flyer then me...like Alex having a D-license before he can even legally buy beer! Lucky bastards! ) Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko
  9. Don't know Skreamer...found it on a 'quote' website and liked it :) Let me know if you figure it out! *laugh* (Just didn't want to take credit for it since I'm not that 'deep' thinking :) Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko
  10. *laughing* Got told the same thing Jason :) The doc who removed a lump from my breast tried to be nice by being careful not to cut the tat there. I honestly hadn't really thought about it...other things on my mind to worry about, but he was really proud of himself and I appreciated it later. Hehe. I anticipate that you'll bring a lot to the forums with your skydiving experience. I'm looking forward to chatting with you! Hmph...family!

Ah thanks *blush* That's quite a compliment coming from you! Yeah, having kids certainly complicates things...but hey, I have a couple of future packers already! LOL! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

  15. LOL Matt! My mom doesn't hate Merrick for it...she knows it's all me :) This is prob'ly one of the least stupid things I've ever done and when I met Merrick she actually told *me* "don't f*** it up!" Sheesh. Love ya too Mom. Haha! Pam
  16. Oh cool Tee...thanks...I probably will! Pammi
  17. Very very good explanation Sky! I am just now 'getting it' and 'feeling' what it's like to be relaxed but in control at the same time. It's wonderful, but I don't know that I could ever tell anyone how to do it. The car idea is very good. It definately was a mind thing for me...the more I thought/worried about it, the worse it was. When I started having fun with it, it just happened! I guess it's like learning to flare...you learn your 'sweet spot' and it's all good from then on! Pammi

    Hmph...family!

I agree Carrie. I met someone very much like that a couple years back who worked constantly...he kept saying how he would rest and have fun when he retired. I couldn't deal with that. We fought about it a lot...we just couldn't agree that life is meant to be lived NOW! You never know what can happen and life just seems like it would be sssooo long if you are just trudging along until you can retire! I just can't imagine. Like my Dad too...he worked hard for many many years (like 18 or something), no vacations or time off, then the company was bought out and they hired someone younger for his job! Now he's working still, way past when he should have to be, and what does he have to show for it? Bad health, too much stress and a lot of 'I wish I had *blank* while I had the chance'. Anyway...just my thoughts. I grew up in Kansas and since my Dad would never take a vacation, I have yet to even see the ocean, or much of anything that I haven't gone and done now that I'm grown. I *will not* do that to my kids. I love my parents dearly and am very close to them, but my kids will walk on the shore, bury their toes in the sand and see all there is out there in this world as much as is possible! Pammi

    New Helmet

Congrats on your new toy! Be careful and have a great time with it!! Pammi
  21. I hear ya...I'm going up to visit my family this weekend also 4 hours away. It's Mom's birthday, Brother's birthday AND Easter..so no way I'll be getting out of it :) Really sucks cuz my next jump is my official-it's-about-friggin-time-graduation-jump!! I have to wait another whole week for it! *sigh* Pammi
  22. LOL @ Whiskeychick! I hear ya! Like I said, I want this new tat also that Merrick designed for me, but it's so many jump tickets! Gonna have to ask for it from my Mom or something...she might get it for me :) But they have some really cool stuff on that site...can't wait for the tongue to heal to get some of it. Good luck with the navel ring!! Pammi
  23. What a bitch! I agree, Skreamer. I had no idea...I'm done with them also.
  24. Thanks for the input guys...you know it's one of those "I want to respect your feelings...but c'mon, they gyno doc sees me there regularly and THAT'S not a problem!" LOL! I think I'll be more embarrassed by it then anything...kinda weirds me out sitting there in that position for a stranger, but I think it'd be worth it. Anyway...thanks for the ideas guys :) Pammi
