    those vids....

    Didn't work cyber...said it's outdated or something.
  2. I know where you're coming from tho Skreamer. I sometimes feel 'old' going back to my old haunts now that I've decided jumps are a better way to have your fun. I still drink, but not to the excesses that I used to, which isn't so bad. But I also have very little to say to one old 'friend' whom I used to hang out with a lot because we just don't have a lot in common now. At least he also trying to straighten up finally. Another I lost touch with completely because she WON'T and really needs to...it hurt me too much to see what she was doing to herself and to make matters worse, never seems to believe that I'm done with it all and I don't need that temptation lurking. Anyway, I think you're right, it's growing up. I just am just leary of growing 'old' :) Pammi
  3. There are places where you don't have to spot?! Cool! I still haven't quite figured that one out, but imagine I'll be working on it more this weekend. At our DZ someone spots on every load! (or tries to...with mine and two other off-DZ landings last weekend, I think we could probably all use a bit of practice ..I didn't spot mine tho or it would've been worse! The winds were pretty unstable.) Pammi
  4. That's a good idea! Never thought of building our own rack for our gear. I just now got my girl back from the DZ after a fresh repack and new batteries, now she's in the closet. I wish I could have her out where I can see her all the time, but I have to protect her from the big dogs and kids. Pammi
  5. My gawd! That was aweful! Please everyone take care and don't get too crazy out there! I don't want to ever see that in person or hear someone here did it Pammi http://skydivechick.tripod.com
  6. Along those lines, I went to the USPA site and downloaded their little checklists, but when I printed them, the stuff in the boxes (the actual lists) didn't come out...anyone else try this? I just thought it'd be handy to have until I get in the habit and know exactly what I should be looking for. I was taught a gear check for the first time just a couple of weeks ago...still makes me nervous checking someone over though! Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that the guy who taught me, Merrick and another regular skydiver did a 'test' on us. He messed with his rig that he had on then had us check him. We all 'killed' him! We all missed the leg straps being mis-routed which would've likely dropped him clean out of the harness. A very scary thought!!! Especially considering one of the people has approximately 100 jumps! Check, check and check again guys!! Pammi http://skydivechick.tripod.com

    Almost time....

Grasshopper is right Froggie. I've heard a TON of advice, all completely different, while at the DZ about all kinds of subjects. Listen politely but do what you JM tells you. You can filter that stuff later for info you might want/need and pick out what might work for you. Right now, it's the basics tho. And if you screw up a level, don't be hard on yourself. It happens! So you get to make another skydive *shrug* :-) Be careful girl and most of all, have fun! Pammi http://skydivechick.tripod.com

Ah butts...one of the top ten for getting married to Merrick (along with his nipple ring *G*). Gotta have it around every day to grab, lick, bite...whatever :) I even had two of my girlfriends tell me how much they loved his when they were drunk one night. LOL! I don't mind, it's mine :) http://skydivechick.tripod.com Edited by Pammi on 2/27/01 06:20 PM.

  13. Yup, that be us! He loves his rig, although, I've decided it's a bas**** after trying to pack the slippery friggin thing. :) My girl is much more cooperative! They've actually been buggin us to do work AT work here lately. Sucks eh? I've been swamped but I still pop in here for my laugh and some relief...keeps me from killing some poor soul *wink*. We got to start jumping again weekend before last...he's jumped his rig four times now and loves it! I just got mine back yesterday and hope to get to try her out this weekend too. Ain't life grand?! Hair Style?

How about those bandana things? I might try using one of those this summer to keep my hair out of my way but I'd think you could slip a helmet on it. Blues Pam
  17. I agree Lisa, er, skybytch :) (great name btw). I think you hit the nail on the head with the comment on addictive personalities. While I don't smoke myself (both of my parents broke me of wanting to do that, thank goodness, since I had to breath it all of the time growing up) I have an extremely addictive personality myself. I look at it this way, look at all the people in the world who are 'addicted' to food in a way? Granted, what they do has nothing to do with MY health, but it helps give a sympathetic viewpoint. Why don't they just 'quit' eatting bad things? Not that simple. I can get irritated at people who say "I will/would never..." too. Um, I used to say the same things, but when you've actually had the opporunity and DID NOT do something, THEN you can tell me I'm weak. (I mean geez, I used to want to be a nun once too, things change over time *smile*) I consider the strongest people those who overcome whatever addiction(s) it is that they have. Anyway...I too hate smoke and would love to not have my contacts burning for days after going to a club, but I definately feel for those who try to quit. The thing I've wondered lately is when did it become 'cool' again? It was 'out' for a while, now teens are lighting up again. I'm so out of the loop...I really had hoped they'd stick to the 'uncool' ideas on this one though. Blues Pam

    Hair Style?

I've pretty much given up on my looks at the dz. I start out okay, but that lasts for oh, all of five minutes in the summer especially. I *did* however go get a new 'do' that is rather simple and cute while not cutting anything off that I've been trying to grow out too. It's been a blessing already! I'm like Freaksis tho...can't wait til all the layers get out where it's long enough to stay in a braid. That'd be easiest. (btw, no swim caps for me either Sis...too hot and, um, I think I'd probably look pretty goofy with it *G*)
  19. LOL! Didn't mean to choose the last one...really! :-)
