  1. You really think that is a good solution/good "plan", and would be effective? Serious question. You really, really do believe/think this? coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  2. Is replacement ease, really affected dependent upon whether you're attaching via rapide, versus slink? Not that this would (conceivably) have any influence on the OP subject, but just where you mention it - I am now curious, as I cannot envision what would make using one over the other, materially more difficult (or not) to replace. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  3. I have already been hearing scuttlebutt anecdotally, that the most recent firmware update is merely now trading off old issues (the .5 second problem "fix") for new ones (WiFi randomly and unpredictably engaging) - causing already, several to revert yet back again - to previous version(s). Pick your poison(s) / selection of "acceptable bug/evils". No clear panacea out there still, yet. Again - Just some further anecdotal "FYI" is all. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  4. "Brian's First" = BEER! See you soon (with fresh case in-hand) I hope. Welcome home! -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  5. Psssst............... what is the traffic pattern altitude? im guessing the ground lol Bad guess. Since you apparently don't read, or just choose to ignore your PM's, and just ignorantly continue to plod along - I'll go ahead and put what I sent to you DAYS ago, now out to you (and others, so as to dispel your misinformation) here: ------------------ RE: FAR Part 105.23 (c) You have mis-read/misinterpreted this section. FAR's have no input/bearing on minimum parachute OPENING altitudes. Just FYI - what is being referred to in FAR Part 105 is canopy FLIGHT altitudes, and being referenced in regards to an airport's PATTERN ALTITUDE & being 2,000ft above that. "Pattern Altitude" is the designated altitude AGL in which aircraft are allowed (instructed) to pass OVER mid-field of that airport. In other words, and as an EXAMPLE - if an airport's designated PATTERN ALTITUDE is 1,500ft (typical) over the field (AGL - usually still published for pilots in MSL, and for us, would need "extrapolation"), then we (our parachutes) can only "drift over the field/airport designated pattern area - at 3,500 AGL or ABOVE. The FAR (and no FAR) has any direct correlation to, or bearing on, our minimum pack-tray openings, and is not germane to the conversation (thread) in which you posted. Just "FYI", and to help you out (and others, where you continue to purport this out in the public domain) a bit with that. Hope this does/has. Blue Skies! -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  6. Sure it will (did/has). I just read this entire string, and taking measures to help assure people see this, and potentially get saved from being scammed, if this truly is (as it seems to be), is a positive affect. I for one anyway - again, have now read THIS entire thread. However, I have not seen anywhere - nor am I aware of at all - all his "cross-posts" YOU seem so all panty-wad butt-hurt about. So THIS post here/this thread, has at least helped ME. FWIW. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  7. Maybe a bit off the intended topic discussion - but just out of curiosity - in each of those cases that resulted in an excessively high-deployment being executed in response to the issue, what (if anything) was further done for the tandem pax, who expected something more than just an 8-10 sec total freefall? Were they offered re-jumps? Just told that sometimes SH** happens, and sent on their way(s)? - What? Again, just an aside bi-product of the occurence curiosity type question. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  8. Really? So remind me "DocPop", at what DZ you are on every jump you do - doing this, so I can avoid you/it, accordingly. Thanks Jim, you beat me to it! coitus non circum - Moab Stone

    AFF - handycam

...Or affect your manual dexterity possibly (which a hand-cam, even if completely snag-proof conceivably could) when/where needed too. Snag-resistance IMO, is not the only concern. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  10. Thanks Lance! I've always wondered what those plastic "squeeze-buckles" were called. Precisely what I was also looking for, and trying to reference when I responded to similar exuberance of someone elses (similar "request" for feedback) set-up, HERE Muppetchick - Maybe you can see/understand how I get so frustrated sometimes with these. I really have been trying (and I had thought anyway - up until again only just very recently, for the most part) to be "good". Didn't mean to offend, only to help make you (hopefully) THINK Yeah well, like you say... You know me. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  11. Where are you located? There is nothing in your profile. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

    AFF - handycam

Not used one, and do not think/cannot envision that for any reason - when conducting AFF jumps, I EVER would. Apparently, you've never (yet) been in the situation where you've had to get your hand(s) involved in say assisting a bag extraction from the pack-tray, b/c the student held, then "half-hitched" his PC? I can think of way too many instances, exposure to nothing but pure TROUBLE, having a "Handi-Cam" set up perched on my hand, during AFF could cause, or become a part of / cause further problems/difficulty for. IMO - the potential benefit "reward", is not worth its respective trade-off of exposure to added risk (and in my mind/experience anyway very - real, to consider) potential. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  13. Perfect! ...THANK YOU, for this!! coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  14. Yeah, but... Isn't the G3 just the "coolest", hippest FF "tool" available? And getting/having a Contour also the same? How about a set of GPS Google-glass goggles, fancy beepy-things, etc. etc. etc. (ad-nauseum) - just because... well ...WOW, they all so really look cool, and are (supposedly) each in their own rights, and in-of-themselves THE "shiznet" gear (my buddy said they're all the top of their respective brands) in each of their categories! Never mind having even the least modicum of consideration, let alone understanding - of how each component, unit, item may (or may not) interact, and under what circumstances - with each other. - I mean, really... Skydiving is nothing more than just so totally rad/cool, no worries, blah-blah-blah. So sorry for the rant distraction/derailment/tirade. Never mind y'all. After reading what seems like the umpteenth similar post, I think I'm just quite possibly personally, just "losing it" here is all. You all just - "carry on". 16. This whole thread belongs in either "General" or SC rather than G&R. The OP is *NOT* looking for any (legitimate) G&R response/feedback on this at all, as is clearly evident by his response to me, and then - his also immediately DELETING the most pertinent picture (showing with the camera mounted/attached) which it was I was (seriously - and PERTINENTLY) responding to! Just, plain, F*ING ridiculous if you ask me. - And for the record - I don't think I've ever even "seen" this person before, let alone had ANY previous interaction with him. I was merely replying to and within a TOPICAL forum post/question - with a TOPICAL (pertinent) answer/observation. Or at least so I thought. I apologize. I had no idea this "Joey" was (is) nothing more than a troll - as he is clearly with these actions even just in here, completely in of themselves (stand-alone) absolutely proving himself. I seriously hope regardless that this "troll" does not end up hurting himself (or others), as a result of, or over his inability to accept LEGITIMATE observation/feedback is all. And with that folks - with this thread here now - I am done / I am OUT. Apologies all, for inadvertently, "feeding the troll". coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  17. He did. There were 4 pictures on his original post. The 4th one showed it with the camera mounted. That was precisely what I was commenting on and why I posted. But of course instead, entirely for sensationalism, and I suppose to make it look like "woe is him ...everyone just picks on him FOR NO REASON" - he's apparently taken that pic down. This thread has no business in G&R (any longer) as is. Probably never did, as clearly - he is not interested in the least in valid, HONEST feedback. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  18. Huh? ...I just gave you a thought on the Cookie Fuel, as you have (HAD) pictured right there in your set up!! - Anyone ever want to post to ever get any REAL feedback, that they will even try to consider, rather than just to "hear their own voice" exclaiming "look at me, and how COOL I am"? - You apparently have absolutely no real interest at all, in honest - trying to be of actual, real HELP to you, consideration/concern (noted) feedback. So then - why did you even post here in GEAR & RIGGING then, even at all? You're right dude ...man, that Cookie is "10/10 would jump" - You are just DA BOMB most uber-cool getting it and setting it up that way. I am the idiot. Obviously. Carry on. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  19. [Thread-drift/hijack mode] - Man, these things have gotten way more expensive, IMO, than they are "worth" [/Thread-drift/hijack mode] The mounts on these are stronger than most people even consider/give them credit for. Instead thinking/counting on them to "tear off" in what would otherwise be an entanglement or other contact incident; when in fact they are finding - quite the OPPOSITE instead, to be the reality. YMMV coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  20. Yes - What are you going to do when a line snags around that, and you are spinning/hanging on your head? Fumble for the chinstrap standard 2-point squeeze-to-release plastic buckle while under that load? - Good luck with that. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  21. You're not really paying any attention to your "answers" being already given to you in here at all, are you? - coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  22. Hey Scott, its been awhile... How've you been doing lately? coitus non circum - Moab Stone
  23. Chris' ("parachutist") rules regarding a paper log-book being required, being referred-to Prof, are for Skydive Santa Barbara. If you choose to visit Lodi - at least in regards to your "lack" of a paper logbook only, in of itself goes - you won't find any problem with that, there. Just to clarify for you. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
