My niece from NH just won some sort of contest to supposedly skydive with them, so I'm looking to validate/verify them, as I've never heard of it - if I possibly can. And you can tell that these broken lines did not occur at/during the opening/bag-snatch/extraction based upon these screen-grabs, exactly how? Not being argumentative - simply asking, because that is what (by some) is trying to be asserted, and I'm sorry - I just don't see it (at least based solely upon this) that definitively. Also, earlier - another poster attempts to dismiss/discount the presence of the secreted-in camera altogether as well. It has been awhile since I have seen the full video, but IIRC - even after this opening, and all these things (including broken lines) being so supposedly "clear" - - - instead of appropriately then/there dealing with them ...This jumper spends rather, significant time "geeking" / talking into his camera! So, how that is absolutely of NO factor either, and trying to dilly "dismiss" it as such - I also think does some disservice to those now, otherwise so far behind-the-curve, or not more familiar and informed (read: only now just otherwise learning of this/reading it here) as well. I still don't see anything here that can definitively convince me that this rig was actually packed, and then put back into service WITH pre-existing, known already-broken suspension lines provided to the jumper; and that this can be used, at the absolute exclusion of all other possibilities, as basis - or for such absolute explanation/substantiation for such claims. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

It's actually easier if they "employ" you as an independent contractor. Simple enough for the "employer" to simply choose not to use you at any given time - if they feel you've violated a "non-compete" clause (or otherwise). You have only one instructor available/possible? As an AFF instructor, as much as I was ever flattered by any of my students ever saying: "I only want to jump with you" -or- "only when you're available"... I would highly discourage that, and always actually in fact rather - suggest and encourage they jump as well, at least at some time during their progression - with other instructors too! I would encourage you to do the same as well. Unless for some very specific reason, it is highly impractical. Or for you specifically, has been counter advised.

I don't believe that for a moment, and MOST (good/professional anyway) pilots I know - actually APPRECIATE it when they know that there is someone actually back there, by the door, who is something other than just a "lemming", and knows his/her way around what is actually going on/what the AC/Pilot is doing, and CAN (and correctly proficiently, when needed) SPOT. That is just my experience/observation though. Having that "capability" though, also does not mean you have to "inflict it" upon the pilot(s) either - and most times, when I am spotting (if I am by the door - you can bet I *AM* spotting every jumprun) - no one may ever even be aware of it (unless they too, are paying attention ) ...And my "spotting" simply becomes nothing more than a silent "confirmation" of the pilots procedure(s), our location & speed over the ground (re-confirm exit-separation) & clearance from other traffic and/or cloud clearance the pilot themselves may not be aware or readily see. I had a FJC student recently, absolutely adamant and insistent he be allowed to duct-tape his iphone somewhere to his body, to record his experience with - in large part because of how these shows and segments seem to want to "glorify" and make it seem so otherwise unobtrusive entirely - to do this. - I did not see this particular show/segment, and will have to check it out now; but most do not give anywhere even near the proper level of respect/consideration for the potential added danger/distraction risk factor(s) that addint the camera otherwise I think - all of us (or maybe not) realize/agree. ...and as such, do not IMO, serve their audience/viewership (or us) as a result - to use this ("just because everyone else is doing it" - apparently) as a reconsideration factor for us now too - "just allowing it", to occur.
