  5. But there may be snakes in your backpack. Had to bump this up for a funny story. My daugher has a pet cornsnake that has been missing. She neglected to let me know about its MIA status until she called me from school this morning. Apparently, when she started taking books out of her backpack her snake came out as well. Guess it crawled in there during the night. Right now the snake is in Mr. Carson's science class waiting for me to come get it.
  6. God, that gets me tingly. I'm on protein and veggies only trying to get back to my size two. I'm at a four now but have to work harder. Just thinking about that warm flaky crust and sweet blackberry goodness mixing with the creamy vanilla gets me all excited. God, help me. I need to run a mile just thinking about it.
  7. Peach cobbler is almost as good as blackberry cobbler..
  8. I can say that my husband loves it when I'm naked---and I've had four children. Granted, I take care of myself but I'm not 20 years old and perfect. He still makes comments when I get out of the shower or while I'm getting dressed. He makes me feel attractive---he makes me feel 20 years old and perfect.
  9. Don't forget to look in the toilet before you sit down. You know how they can get in the system and come slithering up waiting to take a bite out of someone's hiney.
  10. They are 18, 14, 13 and 17 months. What I regret is fighting with my ex husband in front of them. They heard him verbally assault me which is maybe why if I ever felt I was to lose it with them I would put myself in a timeout. Maybe I'm just sensitive to this subject because of my experiences but I still think the guy went on a tirade. Normal may have been the wrong word to use in my previous post. How about acceptable? It's not acceptable behaviour.
  11. That statement speaks volumes. Also, I have been around verbally abusive people. I have seen things I should never have as a child. I have experienced abuse both physical and verbal as an adult. I'm sharing things I normally wouldn't to make a point. I grew up with things that weren't healthy. I've been in relationships that weren't healthy. Yes, I've made mistakes. I am not a perfect parent nor a perfect human being. QuoteALL OF US, particularly parents, have said things we don't mean during a heightened emotional state that we'd not like others to hear. Anyone who says they haven't is a liar.Quote Not to my kids I haven't and I'm not a liar.
  12. I remember the incident quite vividly and I was standing up for myself. She overreacted as usual because of what was going on in her life. I love my mother dearly but she can be extremely critical and negative. She did and behaved the only way she knew how. Her mother was the same way and her mother before her was the same way. I have chosen to be different. I am the mother of three teenaged daughters and it can be very trying sometimes. I have never called them names--ever. Of course, children will test you but you can parent effectifvely without resorting to namecalling and intimidation. If someone has to resort to these tactics then I believe there are issues going on besides "the child."
  13. That's the problem. People grow up with it and think it's normal behavior... it's not. QuoteHis daughter will forever be remembered for this recording, and Basinger put her daughter in that situation, not Baldwin. Quote Whomever leaked it to the media should not have and it should have been for the courts ears only. However, Baldwin is the one who said it and therefore he put his daughter in that situation. Character is who we are when no one is looking.
  14. The solo pilots start out as #7. The first year they serve as narrator and fly the #7 jet. They scout out air show sites and give VIP's rides in the jet as well as narrating the air shows. They go on to fly the #6 jet as opposing solo which is what Kojak was doing and then the #5 jet which is the lead solo. It's a very small Navy. I didn't realize it until they released the names but I knew Kojak. Haven't seen him since I left Virginia...in fact, the last time I saw him was at the NAS Oceana O club. We we were all tipsy and he was hitting on my bestfriend. He was such a sweetheart and he'll be missed.
  15. Very sad. I think I read it was the opposing solo. #6 I'm an ex Navy wife and while we were stationed in Pensacola we had friends on the team. My heart goes out to them.
  16. He says it has not been altered. He has apologized for it, apparently. For those who think it is okay for him to say this to his daughter because we don't know what led up to it--- WRONG! It is never okay to speak to your children that way. As an adult you need to have self control as a parent and if you are that angry then hang up the phone. He verbally abused her. He called her a thoughtless little pig and told he she had no brains. Even if she is a spoiled brat she is so because of her parents and the way they have raised her. No, we don't know the whole story but he was way out of control. The whole..." wait till I see you so I can straighten your ass out." He's using intimidation and fear with her and that is horrible. The whole thing made me cringe. I remember my mom calling me a bitch when I was a teenager and I've never forgotten it. Words hurt, especially to a child.
  17. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=302787;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; Rhino made this post back in the day. Full of great information.
  18. The part that bugs me is that it is played so much on the radio. Every time I get in the car it is on. I love Carrie and I have the cd but I'm tired of the song.
  19. Make sure you clean your penis as well. That area can get funky. Shave your balls too, please.
  20. That was my first thought. But to address the topic of some women not liking oral sex-- so much of sex is psychological and if a woman is nervous, shy, embarassed, feels awkward, has been told it's dirty, etc. etc. then there is no way she can relax and enjoy it. I'm thankful this isn't an issue for me.
  21. Depends on the situation and what I can do at the time. Long run or walk. Hot bath word or number puzzles to distract myself from whatever is going on. meditation talking with family or friends journaling xanax Honestly, sometimes life is just hard. Sometimes just accepting the feelings and letting them happen is all you can do. Giving up control isn't easy but can be freeing. Also, focus on others and what you can do for them. I know that I get all wrapped up in me sometimes. I feel bad, I feel tired, why is this happening to me? Not that its self-centered but taking the focus off of ourselves and reflecting on others. The love of family and friends and appreciating who we have in our lives from our bestfriend to the postman. There are times after all of my own personal meditations and reflections I still need a xanax.
