Please reread what you wrote and then read what I wrote.
  11. I think she was given a hard time about that because she said that the close proximity of Russia to Alaska gave her foreign policy experience not whether the statement was true or not. Couric: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that? Sarah Palin: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and, on our other side, the land-boundary that we have with Canada. It's funny that a comment like that was kinda made to … I don't know, you know … reporters. Couric: Mocked? Palin: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah. Couric: Well, explain to me why that enhances your foreign-policy credentials. Palin: Well, it certainly does, because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I am the executive of. And there… Couric: Have you ever been involved in any negotiations, for example, with the Russians? Palin: We have trade missions back and forth, we do. It's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia. As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there, they are right next to our state
  12. Yikes.. now that is an insult to Rachel. I think she's great but to each her own..
  13. Perception is reality, is it not? Everytime I watch Rachel she seems even- keeled and usually has a smile on her face--- never nasty. And what does her sexual orientation have to do with anything or are you mentioning it just to mention it....
  14. It is interesting, Bill. My mother is a secretary for a church here in Pensacola, Florida where we have just moved back to town. She sat silently throughout months of the election as the pastor, employees and those members of the congregation hailed McCain/Palin. One Monday an elder in the church came into the office to count the Sunday offerings-- he spoke of a vistor who was "voting for that obama.."-- "there's just no way i could vote for a nigger," he said. At that point my mom had enough. She told him that she found the word offensive and didn't appreciate it and there was no difference between blacks and whites-- we all have the same two arms, two legs, etc. He ( the Christian man) said..." it's okay you feel that way but oh yeah there's a difference between us and them niggers.." Also the pastor said he was only voting for Mccain because of Sarah Palin... Again, from fine Christian Repbulican folks.
  15. you did? wow.. you're a smart one, aren't you. And what you said to me directly doesn't bother me at all. The fact that you even posted the email to begin with speaks volumes.
  16. I don't get it? it's you that doesn't get it-- to tear apart the email line by line would be futile. Sometimes you have to look at the sum of the parts and it just doesn't quite add up.
  17. I lived with non whites in CO and in college. *** wow.. that's amazing.
  18. So this is what you've been taught. obviously your mother feels a certain way and that is how you were raised. i find the email to be complete bullshit-- sorry that i'm not being as eloquent as others but that's just cutting to the point.
  19. Like I mentioned before there are obviously millions of people just like me who are ready for change. People like me who have never volunteered or donated to a campaign until now. I give what I can when I can and I'm happy to do it. Anyway... found this as a comment on a news website and thought it was great. If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different." Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story. If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim. Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick. Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable. Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded. If you spend 3 years as a community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience. If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive. If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian. If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian. If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society. If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible. If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's. If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude," with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable. OK, much clearer now.
  20. JRAF-- he likes to stir the pot
  21. Exactly. I have never donated to a campaign before until now. I give what I can when I can. Small donations under $200. My mother does the same.
