  2. so you will be more dead if you screw up base jumping than you will skydiving??? seems like dead is dead "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  3. if you said that yes you are crazy, you clearly are not. crazy people think there are normal. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  4. haha, the addiction only gets worse, but the jumps get more fun each time. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  5. do NOT watch malfunction videos Yet. dropzone is a good place to shoot the shit, but leave it at that for now. everyone can give advice on here so you have to make sure you are not being led by the blind. your instructors and the SIM are your BEST sources of information. ask any questions that you have no matter how stupid you think they are. we all start with zero jumps so the "stupid" questions you ask have all been asked before. personally i always stretch before a jump. it can be taxing on your body when you aren't used to it, and it always helps to have your muscles loosened up. and probably the hardest thing to do on your first jump is too relax. things go a lot smoother if you dont fight the wind, just let it flow through you. good luck and blue skies edited to add: dont worry about the weather. you learn as much on the ground as you do in the air. i believe a bad weather day at the dz is still better than a good day anywhere else. 6. aff is where it's at. the door problem is there for a lot of people, only a dumb ass or a crazy person wouldnt be nervous. once you make it out of the door you will be having the time of your life, you will be so focused on your tasks at hand that there is no room for the nervousness, just a nice relaxed fall. 7. i know exactly how you feel. got my a license a few weeks ago and the wind and rain have kept me from jumping since. i can deal with the cold cause it doesnt last for long, but the 20 to 30 mph ground winds are getting old. i good luck and blue skies "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  8. welcome! it only gets better. where are you jumping? "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  9. if someone is willing to buy used panties, and you have used panties, fucking sale them. not like you are the one doing anything wrong, its the perv thats buying them, "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  10. im sure you can find a place in cali that offers a package deal for at least your aff jumps. its more money to save up front, but in the long run it will save you a bunch. the dropzone i got certified at even offers an entire a license package (which is 25 jumps including aff) for $1800. if you are really interested in getting certified then you might want to check into finding something like that on the west coast. 11. i hear you on that, it took me a while. i probably wouldnt have done it this weekend but someone told me i couldnt jump with another person, which is the rule but how often is it actually followed. i've only done one or two solos since jump 20, but figured with only 30 jumps its best not to step on toes. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  12. this past weekend it was finally warm enough to jump. i decided to quit being lazy and finish my a card. got stamped on my forehead and made my first skydive as a licensed skydiver. feels great!!! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  13. if its going to be cold you will want gloves. tight baseball gloves with a pair of latex gloves on underneath them work pretty well. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  14. where are you going to do your aff jumps? "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  15. "even if you take all the reefer madness allegations at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more damage than marijuana ever could." "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  16. i am a regular smoker and if you dont agree with that i dont care. marijuana has less side effects than alochol and doesnt fuck you up near as bad. i have never known anyone who became an asshole out of nowhere because they got high, but i have seen it happen to a lot of people on alochol. the fact that you can be arrested and put in prison for a plant is ludicrous. there are currently 14 states that allow medical marijuana, now you can even get it in washington dc. the rest of the country will follow suite soon enough. you can call me a criminal, but ill call you a sheep, reefer madness is bullshit, just like anything else the government says in favor of marijuana prohibition. all the government needs to do is tax it and sale it. they will save 14billion dollars annually, which can go a long way in our economy. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
