  1. the farm is amazing and the beer saturday night just ended the day perfect. 3:3 did three fun jumps on saturday practicing slowing my fall rate. got on the sunset load and it was amazing. it was the first time i jumped with no suit, so it was a little rough but worked out. had my first line twist but i was able to kick out. sunday did a "science experiment" fun jump with popsjumper. i worked on slowing down. then i did a coach jump and got to mark off some a card freefall maneuvers. then last load i did my first hop in pop. stable and pulled within 5 seconds. it was an awesome weekend! 2. went ahead and did a hop n pop yesterday so i would have at least one in case shit hits the fan. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  3. congratulations on finishing aff. your next few jumps are going to be amazing, "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  4. you also have to take into consideration the other jumpers. are you experienced enough to jump and avoid any collisions from opening in close proximity to so many other jumpers. at a low jump number it is just as dangerous if not more to bail with the rest. if it is a mandatory bail it might be a little different, but in the situation that prompted this thread it was not mandatory but a "you can if you want to." "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  5. congratulation!!! hope to be at that point soon. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  6. falling at 120mph for two miles then under a piece of nylon for another mile. i would say thats saving a life. you risk death every time you jump. goes to say your dead till you decide to pull. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  7. get use to the ff withdrawal. it gets worse. i skipped jumping last weekend and it literally is all i can think about. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  8. i think tickets for being on a cell phone and driving are a great idea. wish they would do it in ga. i ride a motorcycle and almost every time i have been almost run over the asshole was on a cell phone. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  9. They already want to control fat people and smokers because they're lifestyle is unhealthy. I imagine that when high risk sports become a burden on government costs, they'll move to shut them down too. The government will only be happy once we are all passive little lab rats, safe in cages. +1 "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  10. thats 318 mph "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  11. just relax. this jump is fun!!! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  12. i am still a student and i know that im a long way off from being able to even attempt freeflying. it is the discipline that i am most interested in learning. can i go straight to freeflying or are there other disciplines i need to do first??? i did really well on my aff jumps and didnt have to repeat any, and i am a pretty stable flier for a student. what is the suggested jump number i need to reach before i start attempting to freefly??? also im a big guy so i tend to fall like a brick. one of my instructors on aff 7 was sitflying while i was falling belly to earth. will this be a problem (not having anyone that can keep up), or will i still be able to slow my fall rate in freefly positions??? thanks and blue skies! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  13. burn me. its a lot cheaper and i dont want worms to eat me. take my organs to help other people. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  14. thats a very amazing situation you were put in and equally amazing that everything worked out just right. i think you are an extraordinary person for doing what you did all the while falling to earth at 120+. being a student, you are hearing about all these malfunctions and just bad situation stories. its relieving for me as a student jumper to know that sometimes its not all bad, and that there are people like you out there. like everyone else here, John you are my hero!!! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  15. now i feel stupid. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."

  17. Thanks. The reason I said this is because #1, this is what we train other court employees at work and B) my Dad's wife was the victim of a serial sexual harasser and this is how things started. Innocuous comments here and there, leading up to an assault when no one else was around. Just keep that kinda stuff in mind, that's all. plus with the economy, never know when some job security might be needed. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  18. TAPout! as in get the fuck off of me!!! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  19. congrats on finishing level 5. my 6th aff i ended up on my back. all you need to do is arch as much as you can and you will flip over to belly-earth orientation. talk to your instructor about that cause on level 6 you have to get unstable (by doing a backloop) and this will help you tremendously if you can nail the arch. good luck "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  20. might want some zip lock baggies too, for the small stuff. and masking tape to label those baggies. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."

  23. So you assign the same risk to a jumper making 50 jumps during that year as you do to someone making 350 jumps ? only numbers yes. reality no. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  24. and still 21 "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
