  1. i too am a pussy afraid of ladders. glad im not the only one! "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  2. congrats on finding the sky! where did you make your jumps? were they tandem or aff jumps? "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  3. congratulations on finishing aff, way to knock it out. where are you jumping at? "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  4. reading the sim before you take the class is a good idea, but dont stress out trying to remember everything in it cause most of it wont make much sense till after your first jump course anyway. another tip is prepare to be poor. im in college and its everything i can do to afford a couple jumps a month. most dz's offer an aff package. its a good idea to save up and buy it as a package, you will learn more and be able to knock them out without having to worry about jump currency because aff is too expensive to repeat a jump if you passed it. and when you do start aff just remember to listen to your instructors. good luck and blue skies "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."

  6. i didnt mean god in any way. i am not a believer personally. by spiritual i mean that i kind of go to another place in myself, almost like i have found some sort of piece within that i havent been able to find anywhere else. i really enjoy the mental break skydiving gives me. for that few minutes the "real" world doesnt exist for me. kinda like living in the now, there is only one task you have and that is to get to the ground safely or you die. its just liberating for me. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."
  7. does skydiving have a spiritual aspect to it for you? i know it does for me, just curious to hear some explanations. "Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."

  18. welcome to the forums! my first aff the instructor had to pull for me cause i freaked out at 6grand and pulled everything but the pc. went on to finish aff with no re-do's, so dont worry about that. it will work out just fine, and the sliding in on the but is a BAD habit!!! do that and not flare perfect and your in for a bruised/broken tailbone, or worse if you hit the base of your spine. good luck and blue skies edited to add: mine was bruised, but i couldnt sit right for about a month.
