  2. Does anyone know what the requirements are to jump here and if they are even still jumping? AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  3. ...to gain experience, of course! Most people, of the ones that survive anyway, come away from that thinking, "Damn! I ain't gonna do THAT again!." I did that today. The winds were around 15 - 17 (they were much higher around 2,000). Decided to jump even though I had second thoughts. The first load of jumpers were having trouble making any headway into the wind so that they would land at the DZ. They all did. I thought I would as well. After I was under canopy I was stuck just above a tree line. I soon realized I was heading backwards and would land in the trees if I kept that up. I decided I would have to land somewhere else and found a nice little field of horses. Smelled like shit. I wont do that again... AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  4. I think the OP just wanted a thread with lots of replies. Mission accomplished. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  5. dont get me wrong, I admire anyone with experience, but when a newbie asks a question (most of which are stupid) they get attacked...were you guys students at once? or do you enter the sport with 1500 jumps? *** I think you're selling yourself short. Most newbie questions aren't stupid, all of them are. I don't think newbs should be allowed to post here until they at least 500 jumps and 3 cutaways. Oh, and yes, I hate you. HA HA! oh... Wait a minute! AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1

  9. I know you are being sarcastic, but that is kind of my point. As a student, we read the SIM and recieve instruction on a daily basis. But once we get that letter stamped on our card we think we are good to go. I did it. It wasn't until Safety day that I really noticed how little I think about how I will react in an emergency situation. Taking the time to realize that I only have a few jumps and should make more of a practice to review things like the SIM when I have down time. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  10. I just think it is helpful to remind yourself to think about your instruction. I'm not saying follow all the advice you get on here. I'm saying that seeing the things i've been taught by instructors reenforced on here is helpful and reminds me to think about them before every jump. 11. I'm NOT excited about the next update... In about a month. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  12. I think it's a good idea for all jumpers, but more so the new jumpers, to take more time to read the safety forum posting and ask safety related questions while at the DZ. I think too many people get caught up in wanting to fit in that they focus on joking around or not wanting to look stupid that they put theirs and others personal safety at risk. I love visiting the bonfire forum and making fun of others just as much as the next guy. But it seems there are plenty of people rushing to progress in the sport they don't want to waste time with the 'boring' aspects of the sport like safety. 14. I know there have been posts on this before, but I couldn't figure out the right words to search for it. I remember seeing a link to something skydivers should print and take with them when their rig is going to be carried on. Can someone point me in the right direction?
