  1. I thought the same thing but then I checked out her YouTube and saw she is actually a jumper AND going to the effort of making her own content so at least not another Lex Porter or online t-shirt designer masquerading as part of the community. Still amazed people go for that idea of handing over good content for free for 'exposure'. One of my friends has 10k followers on Instagram and when he posts pics I've taken of him with credits that translates to sweet fuck all for me. It doesn't bother me cos I just like jumping and taking photos, but like you I can't eat Likes.

  3. Another alternative for you is to do outside camera of CRW jumps with your Sabre 2. I have done that with my Sabre 2 and while it's easier to use a CRW canopy to do it with - you can still have fun and learn.
  4. CRW is totally awesome, but I think if you want to do it you should get the appropriate gear (and more importantly - training).
  5. As long as they don't use an invisible airplane. They had an invisible car in one a few years later. From memory Bond drove it off a cliff being chased by the laser beam from an orbiting super-weapon, and then parachuted over a tsunami filled with icebergs. That was a bit much for me.
  6. I remember watching that in the cinema and thinking Bond movies had just gotten a bit ridiculous. Now look.
  7. It is super cool. Reverse skydive - jumping from the ground into a plane. Really amazing stuff though honestly.
  8. I saw an awesome documentary in the 90s about a bunch of skydivers and how they finance their endless summer, it was called "Point Break".
  9. Thanks for the detailed review. :) "Tunnel bats"
  10. I've done 2 or 3 jumps on a Hunter and one on a Freak 1. I don't think this is enough jumps to give a solid opinion either way but I was extremely impressed with the Hunter. It felt really comfortable almost straight away and was very easy to fly, the Freak was also good but felt a little less stable - again it was my first and only jump on one, so I wouldn't judge based on that. The Hunter has a lot of range in terms of fall rate but I suspect the Freak might have the edge in forward speed. But then again it's really about the pilot. There is no suit that is the best at everything. You always have to compromise on something. If it's glide ratio you're after you want a big mattress suit but it won't be the most agile - the most agile suits are small suits and they have a lot of forward speed too, but higher fall rates, etc.
  11. Don't wingsuit if you're not comfortable with it there. But mightn't you end up over that stuff anyway on a non-wingsuit jump, if jump run goes over it? Other wingsuiters at the DZ would almost certainly have some advice. I regularly wingsuit over power lines, a busy freeway, dense bush and a rocky gorge with a river in it at my home DZ. I would say if you're worried just deploy a little higher to make sure you make it to your intended landing area.
  12. I jump a Canon 600D with my wingsuit from time to time. I have it on a Cookie flat mount on a Cookie Rok, and use a chin-cup cutaway. I would say aside from higher likelihood of line twists on a wingsuit jump it's no different to a normal skydive with that camera setup. I haven't encountered or heard of any extra issues with it related to wingsuiting.
  13. Thanks. I did know that about the different stabilisation but hadn't realised that about the GoPro at full resolution.
  14. Don't worry, if you keep jumping you'll see it again. And yes, it's always amazing.
  15. Are many people using this? Anyone have an opinion on the footage compared to that of the GoPro 5? I've hardly heard anything on the stabilisation of the GoPro 5 but I'm guessing it's not as good as the Sony. The mounting options don't bother me, I'm only interested in the quality of the footage and stabilisation. I am thinking of getting one soon-ish now that prices have dropped a bit.
  16. I've been surprised by a pilot diving fairly hard in front of me after exiting last. I think it felt closer than it actually was. While it was nothing like what you've described, I can see how it could happen if the pilot dives hard immediately after you exit. Scary shit!
  17. I had someone ask me last year about the Hunter, when he had less than 40 total WS jumps, on the basis that it was 'easy to fly'. It does seem similar to swooping. You have those people that ask 10 others for advice and they get told "No" 9 times but when the 10th person says "maybe" what they hear is "Yes, you are correct, there is no need for YOU to pay attention to the recommended progression, for you have mad skillz."
  18. Thanks for all the hard work. :)
