  1. L&B offers many options in terms of audible altimeters and it's not always clear which one to go for. I had to do the research for myself so might as well share it around! 3. Hello! I did a video explaining the basis of the exit order if you'd like more info: http://bit.ly/2IWExDd It also has a chart in the description. Let me know what you think! Enjoy! 4. Hey There, I have a full video explaining the basis of the exit order: http://bit.ly/2IWExDd It also comes with a chart in the description. Enjoy! 5. Hey there, I have noticed that many dropzone in our area are offering the handycam instead of the cameraman for tandem jumps. I simply wanted to check if that's a spread thinking among DZ. It seems that the handycam will become the go to video offer and that the tandem cameraman will become an option. That being said, I've been told not to focus too much on becoming one due to that. What do you guys think? Just Launched a Brand New Youtube Channel All About Skydiving! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXYd4K-SNSjeZqDZs9f78JQ Facebook:https://www.fb.com/skydive.vibes/
  6. Hey Skydivers! I am trying to gather a top 5 or 10 coolest skydiving exits. In my list for the moment: - Mr Bill - Gorilla - Rodeo - Cartwheel (3 peeps) - Little Train Do you have other in minds that you have tried? I might need some examples/explanation of how to setup in the door as well. Let me know what you got! Blue Skies! 7. Hey All, Just uploaded a revised version of the gear check video: http://bit.ly/2oQGzMt Let me know if it's better. I think so. Thanks to all your comments! 8. Thanks, John and Lienbacher, I agree with you all. I have been studying (on my own) internet marketing for a while and creating good content - videos, pictures or else - is one thing. Next, you need to promote and monetize. What people are trying (not always a success...) to do with likes and growing different social media accounts is to create a community, i.e. returning eyeballs on the profile. And this my friends is KEY because companies are willing to pay a lot for eyeballs, it's a market! So from that point, you can now try to monetize through selling advertising spots to companies, get sponsors, selling your own products... Likes or views don't pay but they can bring other great opportunities. This actually gave me a video idea! What about I share my marketing and business development knowledge to help fellow skydivers with something to offer (video, pictures) generate a side income and keep jumping? 9. Hey, congrats on taking the decision to become part of the family! I can't answer for the first 2 questions, but If you want to know more about the AFF course, I am actually about to post a video just about the levels of AFF course this week, so stay tuned on my FB or Youtube channel (in my signature). #3 - About the camera. When you'll start you'll jump with instructors and coaches who will have camera to debrief you. The reason why you need more experience to have one yourself is that whenever someone has a camera, their attention tends to go to getting the best shot instead of being safe in their skydive. Not talking about being able to react in case of a malfunction due to the camera itself. Hope this helps! Looking forward to see you progress in the sport! 10. Thanks again for all that constructive feedback. I agree that I am not a rigger or instructor so the scope of the video was mainly for a pre-jump routine covering the essentials. I am about to re-do it with all your good comments and specifying the scope of the video better and tell viewers to always refer back to a certified instructor, a rigger or the manufacturer. I learned a lot myself reading you guys. Do you think I should start a thread on this forum with all the new videos I post to make sure we all share proper feedback on them? I will try to avoid as much as possible the safety videos and do entertaining & fun videos. ;) Just Launched a Brand New Youtube Channel All About Skydiving! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXYd4K-SNSjeZqDZs9f78JQ Facebook:https://www.fb.com/skydive.vibes/
  11. Alright, after further research I agree with you guys that the video is not a good resource and that I need to raise my game up concerning my gear check!!! ;) All is noted and I did remove the video off of Youtube until I am able to do an update and make it according to the UPT & USPA recommendations. I'll keep you posted. Just Launched a Brand New Youtube Channel All About Skydiving! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXYd4K-SNSjeZqDZs9f78JQ Facebook:https://www.fb.com/skydive.vibes/
  12. Good point IanHarrop... I am starting to think that what we are taught on different DZ isn't always up to date or it's left at the discretion of everyone... I will review the video for sure and look for the recommended procedure from Vector. 13. Congrats on the first step! With 5 tandem, you'll be alright. Listen to what your instructor tells you, breathe and relaxe. It's a bliss the first few jumps! You'll get a well deserve beer after the day, for sure! Some quick tips to go through the AFF and beyond: - Spend time on the DZ, meet new people and become part of the family ;) - Try to do tunnel time; I am from Canada and we have the option to do a 20min of tunnel to kickstart our course. It did help a lot since you can just think about your position and become stable before adding the stress of the plane ride, exit & landing. - As you progress, go through your licences as soon as you have the number of jumps required. I have seen so many people become enough experimented but missing the licences to do more stuff. It was just a matter of them not doing their requirements. Oh and lastly... Pay the beer at the end!! 14. Thanks for the feedback. The goal of that video was simply to do an overview of how I do it. I wasn't about to jump it. ;) Thanks, I am gonna check that put it might be simply a point of view. I was informed by that recommendation, this is mainly for avoiding mistake when doing the routing. If you are doing it properly the other way, it is still a good way to do it. It's simply an "idiot proof" technique. This is what I have been told when it was time for me to ask about that new way. They said as long as you are aware of the potential error and you do it right... that's fine. I did mention it. (I didn't actually put it on in the video though) That's the last part of the video when I say you should do it 3 times: - Before putting the gear on, - before boarding and in the plane, - and before jumping. :) Exactly what I want to showcase in the video. ;) Thanks a lot for the feedback.
