  1. I still think the water landing is the best option to start with, but I think having a series of hoses through the water bubbling it with air would be a good option. I was thinking of a much bigger and deeper pool too.

  4. I didn't know him very well but having met Gary face to face I can assure you he definitely came across as a pretty cool guy. I think that's partly how he managed to get himself so far into the hole - whilst everyone was sick of his constant excuses I think most people who met him thought that eventually, one day, the gear would be there. Well, once they'd given over their money I guess there wasn't much choice. So they believed all his lies because it was easier than accepting the alternative - I suspect he even believed them himself. 'Denial isn't just a river in Egypt'... Honestly I could still believe that he may one day pay off his debts. But in the meantime, a lot of people are going to have to source a rig from elsewhere.
  5. +1 Sometimes I find myself hoping for a decent excuse to cut away just to get it off my mind. I'd rather not have something full on like a horseshoe though - I'd prefer some nice line twists or a loose toggle or something. But yeah, back at 15 jumps the thought of cutting away was a lot scarier.
  6. I'd rather pay outrageous prices and get something than pay for a cheap rig and get nothing.
  7. Date of listing is over a year ago... my bad, thought i've read 2011.. I wouldn't have been surprised if you'd been right though.

  9. Interesting. Is the seal thread an essential item in the assembly or can it be removed? Isn't it primarily there to ensure the bridle/PC/freebag remains attached to the main after Skyhook activation?
  10. [replyPersonally im a fan of the movie dead alive. One of my favorite movies of all time. It was Peter Jackson's directorial debut if im not mistaken Great movie but not his debut.
  11. Saw this incredible short doco the other day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNC_4lZ07gU
  12. For fucks sake! MORE PICS LESS JIBBA JABBA!!!
  13. 'A Serbian Film' was worse!
  14. They should put Lutz in it, I'd watch that.
  15. Just curious, is there any reason other than 'looks' to go for one or the other?
  16. Norris had rocket launchers on his motorcycle in The Delta Force. That was a good movie. Great theme music too.
  17. Ah, OK, that makes a bit more sense. It seemed a bit odd, given the other readings at 12 and 9k were about 100km/hr less. Jumping for speed readings sounds like I'll finally be putting my beer gut to a good use.
  18. Thanks! What about booties on a rel suit, would they interfere with stability?
  19. This seems like a stupid question but do you need to be a proficient headdown freeflier to get into this? I attempted a solo headdown recently, it was an absolute flailing mess but the neptune still clocked me at 367 km/hr. I thought it was a glitch at first, does that sound right?
  20. I have to disagree. Repetition will help you relax. In this sport we only get one min of practice per jump.... So it is often very difficult to relax. Having to do other things with other people can add stress. While clear and pulls will help with canopy control and comfort with low exits.... freefall comfort only comes from freefall. Yes a solo will not build as many skills as a jump with a coach, but a BAD two way might just hurt more than a solo. +1 I can remember a few two ways that might as well have been solos.
  21. Wow, interesting. Gotta say, it's been a plan of mine to one day own one of those Stealth suits since I first saw them on the PF website. Guess I'll have to get over it and become pathologically obsessed with the Venom instead.
  22. Just curious, what's the big difference between it and the Stealth2 then? If the Venom gives better glide performance at slower descent rates then what's better about the Stealth2?
  23. Many apologies, I'll go out and induce one this weekend and post back here ASAP just so nobody else is disappointed. If I put the boc in my teeth and wrap the bridle three times around my testicles before pulling the pin manually and swallowing the hackey will that qualify as a horseshoe? Please let me know in the next few hours because that is my plan.
  24. QuoteAn issue in how to define this incident is that we don't know specifically when the snag happened. Was it "just a mal" and then the riser snagged on the reserve pack tray during the cutaway? Or, more likely, was the mal caused by the riser snagging on the reserve container, before the cutaway? Quote My idea was that he deployed the main and the riser snagged under the pack tray. Call it what you like, I was just wondering if anyone considered that little piece of material there to be a snag point. Should I start a poll to see what the name of the thread should be changed to?
  25. Thanks, you mean just tacked in place so the tab doesn't rotate out of the riser? I'm reading some more threads and have found some references to lines snagging on the reserve packtray with some packjobs so my essay above may have been unnecessary.... anyway, it's there now, FWIW.
