  2. Cool jumps! I did stuff like that before my FFC and I think it helped immensely. It's worth it for sure, you won't be disappointed.
  3. Gary Connery's stunt was shown on almost every major news outlet in Australia, and probably the UK and the US as well. It was all over the web, and in newspapers (actual printed newspapers!). The problem is that the media is already saturated with this sort of stuff courtesy of people using it to try and market their products. It sounds like the sort of coverage you are envisaging is exactly the same footage but with Red Bull logos on every box. That doesn't add much for me. Having said that though if Jeb had pulled his ramp stunt together I would have thought that was fucking awesome no matter how many Red Bull logos he had plastered to him.
  4. Also - 20 wingsuit jumps is not much experience. You're still learning the basics of how to fly it. Whether you have Mad Skillz or not, your performance will have improved in 20 jumps, and in another 20 after that. Even if you mod the suit and fuck it up you might get better performance just because you have more experience. I'm all for experimenting but I don't see that there is much point in doing it at 20 WS jumps - unless you have a spare V2 of the same size that you can compare with the modded one.
  5. I wouldn't have thought so either but apparently it's complicated enough to trip up a $67b program. I was reading a thread on this site not long ago where a guy reported a case of G-force induced hypoxia under a spinning malfunction. I wouldn't have thought of that but I know sweet FA. It just sounds like when you can't figure out why something doesn't work and tearing the whole thing apart you realise it's not turned on at the power point.
  6. Next person to quote Top Gun will be flying a cargo plane full of rubber dog shit outta Hong -godDAMMIT
  7. My money would have been on aliens being mentioned first. Slider... You stink.
  8. I've seen this in the news a bit, anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing it? http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2012/06/stealth-fighter-choke/
  9. I used to do this too. I was always nervous, mainly about the dive plan, my ability to control myself, emergency procedures, etc, so I would go back over that stuff in my mind on the way up - which would help. The worst was when there was a more general free-floating fear that wasn't attached to anything. I just couldn't see anything specific that I was afraid of, so it was harder to find a solution. But at the same time, thinking about it in those terms revealed to me that I was experiencing something a bit different.
  10. I didn't realise that's what it was from until I googled it just before posting - it was just in my head, figured it was from Point Break or something.
  11. It's one thing to assume those notions in an abstract sense - to agree to them when you're sitting around at home reading a book - but it sounds like you are experiencing raw fear, it was once said 'fear is the mind-killer'.
  12. I know what you're talking about, the same thing is on mine, which are/were white. I assumed it was just ordinary wear and tear.

  14. Thanks for the interesting review. I have to ask though - how much of the performance increase do you think can be attributed to the structure of the suit over the chest strap? Just curious to hear where you think the main performance gains are coming from.
  15. There could also be the aspect of airflow slipping between the body and the suit itself, which the rig keeps under control. Perhaps with no rig airflow here could inflate the suit in undesired ways, with the spandex across the back allowing further inflation? Perhaps a deflector could be put in place? Perhaps the deflector could be a shaped backpack full of fuel for the micro-turbines you have strapped to your feet? Or maybe even a larger jet engine extending all the way down? Also without the necessity of having to reach around to the BOC perhaps an extension of the arm wing could be an option?
  16. This is totally fucking awesome!
  17. And in 10 years DZs will be removing their wingsuit ponds to try and cut down the number of fatalities.
  18. I reckon he will be successful but with a cardboard cut on his left hand and a bleeding nose.
  19. Gentlemen you can't fight in here, this is the wingsuit forum!
  20. My N3 registered a climb at deployment once.
  21. But I already watched that one! I love seeing new products come out, provided the music in the videos isn't too bad.
