  1. Oh wow, I didn't know you two hooked up...like for reals. :) Happy Anniversary!!
  2. Yo!! Checking in. Been a couple years, I reckon. Glad to see some familiar names on here still. Yeah, I'm friends with a lot of you around the early-2000 timeframe in FB. I think right after my second kid was born, I slowed down jumping a bit, and last year moved up to Oregon. I went and said goodbye to my (almost 16 yr old) rig at the dropzone. Been a few years since I've jumped - maybe 5. Still think about the sport occasionally and maybe I'll jump back in to get my POPs badge in a few years before it's too late. And YES! looking at preview - even though my profile still shows no profile picture, it looks like @sangiro has kept I think the only animated profile icon on the system. Go Beavis! Butthead: Whoa! 5. I went to Norway earlier this year and this was one of my gripes. I only used my BofA debit card and it worked at all places, but you have to get used to the system. You see after swiping your card, the screen will ask you if you have a PIN (COD in Norwegian) and you just hit cancel (Red button) and it will then do a regular CC purchase versus a debit card. You then sign the slip and you're done. I was too charged fees from BofA, but thankfully, I was reimbursed from my company. When I go back there again, I'll probably do the same thing. The exchange rate booths charge really high fees and you have to cash in like $500 USD to even make it worthwhile. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! 6. I guess I've been living in a hole the last few years and missed this feature. Is that for members that have donated to the site? Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  7. I'm still thinking about her. Just finished watching the memorial clip we put together and the few boogie videos around that time. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  8. I figure someone here knows as there's a link back to here for more info on skydiving. In any case, it's a private reddit. Can I come in.? edit: Sorry it's /r/skydive not /r/skydiving. 9. TP FOR MY BUNGHOLIO!! ahh, the good ol' days. My favorite times were in in IRC with GFD. 10 years later, 2 kids and happily married. Sad to say, my last jump was almost a year ago, but I still lurk.. I still kept the same GIF icon after HH banned them. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! 10. I have two dogs. A Malamute and a Husky. Both blow their coat twice a year - the malamute it comes out clumps. They shed slightly throughout the year. I have a furminator, we vacuum 2-3 times a week, the wife sometimes does it daily. Bottom line is... you get used to it. I have dog hair on/in my bed, in my bathroom, in every corner of my house, on my furniture, etc... I chalk it up to dog ownership and just live with it. I try not to wear black, cause I know before I leave the house, my clothes are going to have at least a few pieces of dog hair stuck to it. I have those sticky rollers in every car, and a few scattered throughout the house. The sad thing is, after they're gone, there is going to be hair everywhere and it's going to be tough to get over them. Pic: A shot of my backyard after a furminator session. Oh, and next year after my second kid starts walking, I'm ripping out the carpet and re-finishing the hardwood floors underneath. The dog hair totally fucks with my allergies in the spring time. But again, it's all worth it. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump

  14. Actually, 10 ms is equivalent to 1/100 of a sec. 1000ms = 1 sec. I'd first check the router and work your way out. See if there's an uptime on the PPOE stats page. See if the link is dropping. Then set a continuous ping to the WAN interface IP. Check www.whatismyipaddress.com if you're not sure what that address is. IF it times out there, then it's most likely your router. If it's not dropping there, then get a shareware program like virtual trace route (google it) and set a target to 4.2.2.2 or google.com/yahoo.com. That will show you which hop the packet loss is coming from. It also shows your first hop as your WAN address, so you can skip the previous step if you want. If the packet loss is happening past your WAN address, then it's definitely not your problem. See if you can grab a screen shot of that and send it to your ISP and tell them to fix their problem. 20. That is exactly how I feel. You hit the nail on the head. And Quade - yes Boss...no more whining here. I am very glad I have a job. For the other questions: Yes, I have been with the company full time for 5 years. Actually a month ago was 5 years. I don't exactly love what I do, but I love the pay and flexibility and exposure to new technologies. If it was easy to switch jobs, I probably would, but as most of you know it is difficult out there. I have gotten raises before with this company, one 10% raise that I can remember, a few 5-7%, and they do give a nice 10-15% yearly bonus. My boss did say that "not everyone" got a raise, so that makes me feel a bit more valued and maybe that's the best they can give. Maybe others got 1%.... I don't know the answer that question. Ok, done whining. I feel better. Thanks all! My personal view is that while giving no raise at all would be understandable in today's economy, giving a 2% raise is in fact insulting. I know that sounds contradictory but the message that comes across from the two actions is very different. Giving no raise at all sends the message that, hey, the company still struggling and simply cannot even think about raises this year. Giving a 2% raise sends the message that the company is doing well enough to give raises, thought long and hard about what this particular employee is worth, and decided he/she was worth only a 2% raise. Definitely a big slap in the face. Be glad you still have a job but be even gladder when you find another one and can kiss these folks goodbye. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  21. Thanks guys, you really made me look at this in a different light. I am grateful, just took things for granted and didn't look at the bigger picture. Again, keep the comments coming, they really make me feel like such a jerk for thinking that way. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  22. Yah, just got pulled into my boss's office and told I get a 2% raise. Yippee! or.. WTF? Personally, I'm insulted. But I'll take it. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
