  1. Ive never had it on the track, but its fun around town. Where I live 1975 and earlier vehicles have to go through emissions testing. I cant get as silly with it as I wish and still be legal. Either way its a fun little car people hated and you dont see them on the road often anymore.
  2. I could use some insulting..... Everyday driver, 2000 Hyndai Elantra Weekend fun car, 1976 Ford Pinto with a 302 V8. I already know that I'm an asshole, (I'm told on a daily basis), so no need to tell me.
  3. I think I was a horse thief.... I HATE neckties and large crowds of people.
  4. Ive been with Continental Express for 3yrs now, 3rd shift the whole time on line maint. Talking with "Big C" (Continental mechanics), guys that have over 20yrs with the company, they still work 2nd shift and weekends. 20yrs senority!!! Getting with a major carrier right now is damn near impossible. So many people are laid off. Those that have these jobs are not going to give them up. Alot of airlines contract the heavy checks out to contractors so that makes it even harder to get a job with an airline. Unions (I am union), are ok, and helps protect jobs but at the same time it can bite you. We are negotiating our contract right now and I pray we dont vote ourselves out of a job a few yrs down the road. Remember Pan Am? I love this industry and my job, but with the way things are now, I would not pursue it if I was going back to school. I dont want to discourage you, but at the same time I dont want you to invest time/money in training without a little insight. Good luck to you.

    WOOOOOOO

Ive come close to giving it up. Im too close to my 20yr letter to stop now, but yes, it has a way of screwing up work, relationships, beautiful days at the DZ. Ok, I will shut up now.

    WOOOOOOO

Yep, but I have army reserves in the morning and its a couple of hours to drive to the DZ. So I will just chill here. We were supposed to do a static line C-130 jump tommorrow, but the bastards canceled the aircraft. The airforce has better things to do than screw with a bunch of reservist......Im very tempted to go to Atlanta tommorrow. Screw it. Hey I need another Guiness!!!

    WOOOOOOO

Happy Halloween! Yes I'm about drunk.
  8. Weather is an excuse used VERY OFTEN for delayed flights.... flow control ect.... hey blame the weather, then its not the airlines fault.
  9. Heres Lizard....I just now remembered we have a camera at work.
  10. 1 on a MCI-1D at 1500..... would of had some good jumps if I didnt have to do the army thing. But for a round jump, it was nice yesterday. I will get to skydive next weekend, hopefully the weather will be nice

    plane pics

This one may have been posted before on here. If so, sorry... Remember its the first officers job to do the walk around.
  15. I loved my "green machine" (kinda like a big-wheel), lincoln logs and of course the pottery kit, came with a clump of clay and a battery powered spinning wheel. I got pretty good at making bowls and great at making my parents mad because it was hard to get out of the carpet.
  16. Thats a modified CL-44. I helped change the #2 eng on that plane a few years ago in Smyrna TN. It was originally modified to transport engines for the L1011 program. The entire tail swings open for loading and unloading. Kind of crappy design as Im told they have alot of problems with play in the rudder and elevator controls. I think its in the U.K. now.
  17. As bad as this may sound, the FARs are interpretted differently depending on the fed you talk to at the time. One fed may say a particular FAR means this and another may see it from a totally different perspective. Personally, I think you should be able to build and jump anything you want as long as you DONT let others jump it and it does not threaten anyone elses saftey. Its your life, be as silly as you want.
  18. They crashed one in a test flight, kinda gave it a bad name I guess.
  19. They are saying that a nut was left off a bolt that attaches the control tab pushrod. This thing supposibly flew around for 3 or 4 months before it migrated out of the rod end fitting. I dont think so. Ive been told that there were several writeups in the logbook for binding in the yoke. Someone somewhere along the line had that stuff apart back there after it left my hands. I havent read all the articles and findings, but the NTSB believes the nut was left off and that the control tab is what caused the accident.
  20. Thank you all for you words of encouragement. It means alot to me. Thats what I love about the skydiving community, you people dont know me personally, but yet your by my side. I thank you. Im going to meet with the lawyers of the company I worked for at the time monday and go from there. From my understanding, outstation mx had gone into the rigging of the elevators AFTER it left our hangar, but was undocumented. Its all finger pointing and speculation at this point.
  21. Thank you for the support, I look passengers and crew in the face 4 days a week now, I realize what is at stake and what I need to do, but this plane went down. Im an adult, I realize that things happen, but this happened to my plane! I guess I will have to live with this, but even though I know for fact that I did what I was supposed to, the fact is the plane went down. That I will always question.
  22. A plane crashed FEB 16th 2000. I had done major work on this aircraft that killed 3 crewmembers. Info is here http://emery17now.home.att.net/ Now I have been issued a subpoena relating to this as I obviously signed off the installation of the elevator. As a rigger and an A&P I would never give a parachute to anyone I wouldnt put on my own back, and I would never release an aircraft that I wouldnt put the people I love on, but this bothers me. I know deep in my heart that I did not cause this, but Ive worked on alot of planes since this. I ALWAYS follow the manuals and never deviate, but I think they may try to pin this on me. I need some emotional support.
