I did some jumps in Memminger(sp?) Germany at an airbase 2yrs ago and we were hanging out waiting for the rain to stop. I watched this guy drink 7 beers and when it was clear enough to jump, this dude was the pilot. It didnt bother me but I think me and the other americans there were the only ones sober.

Jumped my first pack in 1990 on my sixth jump straight out of airborne school. The army rigger school requires that you jump your on pack before graduation. I remember that jump just as well as my first freefall just a few months ago. No doubt a milestone for anyone. Had to get into skydiving as my reserve unit cant get aircraft for some reason or another. Now my biggest fear is having the nerve to jump from 1250AGL again after getting involved with the skydiving. Going to seem a little low for me. When I was on active duty, they would periodically pull a rig that you signed off on and make you jump it. Keeps you honest.

A&P tech/maint.quality control inspector for a major airline. (I cant stay away from aircraft).

This sounds silly, but I cant reach my slider to collapse it half the time. I sound like a UH-1H landing.

I would put in a new needle and try a different bobbin. Ive had this happen and the problem was a loosely wound bobbin. If that doesnt fix it, check the timing. Hope this helps

I understand as well, I finally got 2 jumps in a few days ago after not jumping in 7 months. GET BACK IN THE BIRD! Once your in the air and going to altitude, look outside at how beautiful the world is from your view. Bad weather, finances, all that is part of it, but stay focused and dont give up, next thing you know, your on jump run. I do hope all goes well with you. Jeff
