  1. 2:0 Not posting the first number! Not because there is soemthing to post - just tmi and not dating anyone... don't need to point that out week after week!! I made two AFF jumps on Thursday and the rest of the weekend I spent with my two girls... Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  2. Bit of leg fondling going on there by the JM! Good video. I always keep a hand on my students legs. I think it is my way of giving them a little extra comfort. Especially when opening the door. Thats when they think they are going to fall out. I've never had any sexual harassment complaints. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  3. I got to make two AFF jumps on a Thursday afternoon when the weather earlier in the day looked like complete shit. Had two great students and somehow Friday seems even better this week. Ok everyone what is making your Friday so good?! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  4. I think if it is summer go for a larger mid west dz like Skydive Chicago or Start Skydiving in Ohio. Or a north east drop zone like Skydive New England in Lebanon Maine is pheoneminal!! Florida can be pretty warm (and slower) in the summer. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  5. At least your not waking up and can't remember WHO is in your bed! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  6. Lobster red is NOT your color! Hope your not in too much pain today! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

  8. See - static line jumps are not that bad!! :7:No beer (I don't think) Mid East Skydive League meet. Necessary Equipment competed at the AA class and we did fairly well. Especially considering we are a brand new team. In May we competed in the Rookie class, in June we competed at A and here in July at AA. I am feeling pretty good about where we are and how much we have grown. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  9. I knew that... guess I am not a good multi-tasker! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  10. Hey Jesse, I have mixed feelings on listening to those types of shows with dating advice. The thing is the completely over generalize stuff. What works for me may not work for others. Some guys may be old fashion and insist on paying. There are just so many variables. I initially try to look for basic compatibility stuff and then move on to stuff like is he cheap and wants me to pay for everything (yes, I have had that happen). Dating is not easy! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  11. I do the same thing. I always offer to pay half. If it was a get together with my friends or co-workers that I invited him to, I would be pretty insistent on paying. "Who pays the bill" can be a sticky situation. I agree with John and think a first date should be low key. Here is what I like to do on a first date: mountain biking on a local trail or long walk on a similar trail or pack some sandwiches and bottle of wine and go for a picnic somewhere. Oh yeah - wine tasting at a local winery is fun. All of the above are very low cost and make it very casual - which is what I like. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  12. I think you need to dirt dive this... and post pictures. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  13. :) Maybe I need to incorporate this into all our Cat D jumps at our dz... :) Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  14. Ok, I probably shouldn't tell this story because I am sure people will tell me how wrong I am... but I don't care. So one of our pilots (who happened to be a good friend of mine too) decided to go through AFF. This kid grew up in skydiving/aviation, his dad was a skydiver, etc. He went through the first few categories of AFF rock solid. I take him up on Cat D (believe it was D2). We are doing 180 degree turns. On the way to altitude I told Shawn that if he completed his 180 degree left turn, and 180 right turn by 9,000 feet (Cessna DZ - we exit at 10,500) then I would give him his first kiss pass. I have never seen a student complete perfect stopping on the dime turns so quickly... At just above 9K he looked at me, pointed and did the "come here" motion with his hands in the air. How could I not give him a kiss pass?!?! Yeah, I know I violated all kinds of ethics.... but this was our pilot, a friend and an extraordinary student. 15. I absolutely love kiss passes!
  16. I probably wouldn't be doing a solo... Can use others as reference. I quickly got on a load my first day of Carolina Fest and forgot mine. No big deal. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  17. :8:0 Had a great day training with my four way team. Got in 8 jumps on Sunday and several new blocks. Yay! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  18. And this is a perfect example of the good that should come out of dz.com. I have been putting off replacing my pilot chute. I am going to replace this week rather that continuing to put it off week after week. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  19. Skydive Carolina isn't horribly far out of the way and an awesome dz. I also recommend checking out St. Mary's in GA. And like Skymama said Palatka and Deland are also awesome! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  20. I have a Tri 135 and love it also. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  21. Who would get bored with beach, sunshine and cabana boys for a week?!?! Seriously. Some really good diving. Also you can take the Ferry over to Playa Del Carmen and there is a drop zone somewhere around there. I drove by it when I was there a couple years ago. I didn't have my gear and the person I was with wasn't a skydiver. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

  23. You have a very good point and that has been discussed at staff meetings. I think until we have IAD rated staff we don't have an option. Right now we have a handful of static line Instructors and I don't think any of us are IAD rated. Not that we couldn't get the rating since I know an IAD IE that would be happy to come to the dz for a course. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  24. I am going to buy some bosy wash tonight and see how I like it :) Change is good. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  25. Most who get their IAD ratings do so with the intention of working at a Cessna drop zone that offers the IAD progression program. I have my static line rating and never did the IAD rating for the simple fact that I would not get in the minimum number of IAD jumps required to maintain. Our dropzone is a small C182 dz (though we have 3 C182's) and we just started offering AFF this season. I imagine that we will start seeing less and less static line students. I will always think static line progression is a great program (though personally prefer doing AFF Instructor jumps) that serves as an option for those who don't want the accelerated version of skydiving. The two larger turbine dz's in the area do not offer static line. I personally don't think turbines and static lines are a good mix... just from personal experience.
