  1. I'm not really supposed to jump until July or so, but my knees are really strong and I have really good knee brace now. I've done about 15 jumps since my knee surgery. I need a rig though. I sold my old one and my new wings wont be done until mid May. All i have right now is my main, which wouldn't be considered "wingsuit friendly."
  2. Hey Andreea, I could pick you up from Orlando if you want. I'm heading from Daytona to Z hills, so Orlando airport is right on my way.
  3. I've had that situation you described with the near miss, but not due to end cell closure/slider issues. On most wingsuits you can at least reach the lower portion of your rear risers without unzipping/cutting away your wing, enough to be able to steer away from a collision. The end cell issue really doesnt cause the canopy to turn that fast anyway, especially when it is loaded fairly light. All I'm saying is that, from my experiences, those quirkey characteristic of the sabre2 don't cause as much issues in the wingsuit environment as it could seem. There are a lot more important/dangerous thing to worry about with regards to a wingsuit deployment than endcell closure. Thankfully, there are many canopies out there that can suit your needs for wingsuiting, such as the pilot, spectre, storm, etc. Personally, if I were you, I would stick with the canopy you have now and spend the money on jumps unless you are dying to downsize or absolutely hate the canopy you currently have. Just my 2 cents.
  4. Don't forget the awesome pain meds they give you at the hospital too
  5. I have jumped sabre2's a lot, with and without a wingsuit. The problem you say you are having with end cell closure and the slider stopping 1/4 of the way up is totally normal with sabre2's. Many people seem to complain about this, but it is fine and won't cause any more of a problem than maybe a slightly off heading opening due to one end cell being closed more so than the other. End cell closure and the slider not coming fully down never caused me any specific problems during wingsuit jumps. In my opinion the sabre2 is one of the better canopies to use for wingsuiting. Edit to add: I forgot to say that if your slider gets hung up partway up the lines, just pump your rears a little bit and it will come down.
  6. Anybody who went to the boogie have any info on the new suit that Tonysuit had there? Is it another flying tent? If so, how many does it sleep? Seriously though, I am very interested to see what direction you guys went with this suit.
  7. If the problem is that there is no Skysurf forum, then he could have went to the General Skydiving Discussions forum and asked the skysurf question there. I wouldn't go to the Canopy Relative Work forum and ask "What is the 4 way FS dive pool?" In addition to this small skysurf dilemma, I believe we have covered the "how many jumps do you need to fly a wingsuit" question more than enough. It would be greatly appreciated if people either read the FAQ at the top of the forum, or did a search of the forum before they ask that question. It gets kind of old after being asked 300 times. Fuck.
  8. Why would you go to the wingsuit forum to ask how many jumps it takes to skysurf?
  9. Would that be similiar to the "shit handjob" that we discussed in Lodi?
  10. I'm sorry, but I can't lurk in the background anymore and let this go on. Do you people realize that every damn thread in this forum turns into a "I got 72 jumps and I'm gonna jump a wingsuit... (followed by) You are a horrible person for doing that, unless you have 200 jumps, your mom is going to burn in hell if you jump a wingsuit early..." argument? Do you realize that all the other people from other disciplines lurk in this forum, read these threads, and then go away laughing at us? That fact that we even dignify these dumbass threads with a response makes us look like dirty cunts. With that said, I am going to make a promise... I will personally go to the next person's house that either starts another "how many jumps are needed to do an FFC" thread or turns an innocent thread into a bullshit-jump-numbers-whos-cock-is-bigger thread and I will pull a Jay and Silent Bob on their ass. Trust me, I have plenty of time on my hands now that I had my knee surgery and will be out for a year. I will take my massive post op ACL knee brace that I have to wear for the next month and I will beat them into a coma with it. How about instead of posting some meaningless bullshit question about jump numbers, you actually go out and jump? If you are so damn interested in wingsuits and cannot wait to fly one, the fastest way to 200 jumps is not the goddamn internet, but your nearest DZ. I agree with the guy earlier who said that the jumps required for wingsiut should be 500. 200, in my opinion, is too low because it is a number that is just within reach of people freshly off of AFF, who have been jumping their ass off for a couple of months and have between 85 and 150 jumps. These people have shit for experience, but are somewhat close to that magical 200 number that deems them somewhat ready. If you boost the minimum to 500, then hopefully that number will be high enough to where it keeps wingsuits out of the noobs minds for a few hundred jumps, and allow them to actually gain some valuable freefall skills. Another added benefit is that when these people actually do their FFC's, they may actually turn into quality wingsuiters because they actually have some real skydiving experience under their belts, and not just 200 hundred jumps of trying not to die. Well, I would love to rant some more, but I will probably get pimp slapped from voodoo for making a weak rant. . Have a wonderful Christmas everybody !!!!!
  11. I believe most of the people in attendance were flying top secret phoenix fly stealth prototypes not availabe to the public, just like Jeb. Except for Glenn... he flew a Jii-Wings cause hes gay.
  12. That is great that you got some new birds in the flock. I am currently sitting in my apartment with my car impounded. Who knew that when you chase a drunk girl after she hits your car, your car will be impounded after a full police investigation? Whatever, shit happens when you party naked. Happy to see the flock grow!
  13. Yes sir, thats the one . That linked gainer went to hell pretty quickly. good stuff.
  14. I noticed that too. Why didn't you go all out and add the clips of our botched gainer out the back of the Casa? That was some funny shit...
  15. Nice video. And, by the way, you are welcome for my demonstration on midair mating rituals.
  16. Yeah, I can't find the link to vote on too. Can anyone post a hyperlink to the site? Thanks.
  17. I've seen at least 2 people wingsuit regularly with nitrons and they have never had a problem with them. They seem to open stable enough for wingsuiting. I guess it also depends on how small of a nitron you want, though.
  18. I was wondering what lodging is available in the Pepperell area during the boogie. I'm a huge slacker and am finally getting around to booking my flight today. Are most people camping at the DZ or are there some hotels nearby that a lot of people are staying at?
  19. yes Matt, the XS is for sale... If you are willing to cough up the money for it. I jumped one in palatka and it flies awesome!

  21. I'm not trying to throw my dog in this fight, but that was a burn.
  22. Taking a wingsuit out of a low tail king air scares the living hell out of me. I spent a day doing ws jumps from titusville's king air, and every time i came retardedly close to the tail. I can't imagine doing a high speed exit out of one of those and not getting screwed up.
  23. Yeah, Hermit Crab is a completely random thing to reply with.
