  1. So, you've got nothing....like usual. +2 HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.

  3. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2011/10/poll-most-americans-support-occupy-wall-street/246963/ Ok, that's one. You said "poll after poll". You need at least one more to make your statement true. Hopefully something a little more recent. Are you going to answer my question about whether the police should just ignore the law? HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  4. -So you expect the police to ignore the law? -Let's see some of the "poll after poll" of which you speak. -How do you propose to take away from the rich without stepping on the same rights you wish to preserve for yourself? 6. So you think these little protests are actually going to change the basis of our society? The top 1% got their because...now get this....our society allows anybody to do so! To make any changes that would affect the current top 1% would also affect the other 99% in the same way. The cops aren't working just for the top 1%. They are working for everyone. They are upholding the laws and rules of the society we all live in. What you, and the protesters, are asking is for the cops to enforce the laws only on a certain segment of society, the segment that YOU chose to enforce the laws on. The protesters are a very small, very vocal minority. They have been allowed to hold their protests for quite a while and now it is time for them to stop imposing their BS on everyone else. The parks they are trying to take over are there for everyone's enjoyment, not just for them to "pitch a tent and bitch & vent". Do you really think the cops are proud of hurting people? I'm sure there are some who do get off on it, but the vast majority would rather be able to get through each and every day with as little excitement as possible. 7. you'd think the police (acting on behalf of the 1%) would have a little more respect. probably going to be more of this... Since we're of and running just assuming things this fine day, I'll jump in. I'll be willing to bet he was refusing a lawful order to disperse and confronted the coppers. You'd think a vet would have more respect for people in uniform and the laws of his country. 8. You'd be the first to squeal like a stuck pig if it said "In Allah we trust". Understand the purpose of the Establishment Clause and try to respect the constitution. Which one? The Establishment clause that refers to the establishment of a national religion, or the liberal interpretation that means 'any mention of God'? You forgot the Establishment clause prefered by conservatives. You know, the one that is interpreted literally to mean establish. Endorsing, favoring and using as a basis for governmentt is ok, as is attempting to villify any religion that is not Christian. Lemme know when they pass those bills saying "Because God wills it", m'kay? Luckily we haven't gotten that far, but we have had more than one president who prays to a magical fairy for guidance. I take it you would be ok with the official motto to be "In The Flying Spaghetti Monster We Trust"? 10. Which only proves was a waste of time it was. Again, it was in no danger of being changed to begin with. Unfortunately true. "In God We Trust" has no place in our government. It's the hwole church v state thing. Do you have any idea how much it irks me to agree with you, Quade? PISS!!! 11. So, if you were in a car accident, you wouldn't file a claim with your insurance company because you assumed the risk of driving? Every one of the spectators that were injured and the families of those killed are entitled to compensation for the accident. It's a completely ignorant comment to simply state that they should suck it up and bear all of the responsibility for something that they had no control over just because you hate the word "lawsuit". I pay premiums for insurance. No, I don't feel the families of those killed are entitled to compensation other than medical bills and funeral expenses. You are absolutely right in one respect: They had no control over what happened. But the victims did. They chose to be there knowing full well that something like this could happen. It was very, very unlikely, but still possible. They controlled where they were that day, nobody else did. To expect someone to pay millions of dollars for a choice somebody else made is what is completely ignorant. 12. If people would take the responsibility of accepting the risks of attending such an event and nobody filed a lawsuit, I would say it was very survivable. Motorsports is inherently dangerous to all who attend. Driver, crew, spectator. When vehicles are pushed to their limits, which is the very basis of racing, parts fail and accidents happen. There is no if, only a when and how bad. Hopefully the courts will recognize the assumed risk involved, learn how meticulous and detail oriented the crews of these machines are, and toss this rotten egg out with the trash. 13. Yeah, I know. I'm just sick of people filing a lawsuit whenever something bad happens. They want their millions of dollars and fuck anybody or anything that may suffer because of their lawsuit. This will drive a lot of nails into the air race coffin regardless of how it turns out. Just defending against the suit will cost a small fortune. 14. Reno Lawsuit Do these people honestly believe attending an air race is without risk? Bloody freakin' idiots HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.

  19. I had a 99 in .308 back around '78-'79. First shot accuracy was fine, but following shots tended to drift (to the right, as I remember) as the barrel warmed up. Easy 2" groups if each was from a cold barrel, but 5 shots within a couple minutes would string out to about 5"-6". Just something to be aware of. 22. It amazes me how people who accept as fact an all-seeing, all-knowing entity that has always existed and always will, "fathered" a child by a virgin, sent that child to die so the sins of others would be forgiven, and created all from nothing, all while remaining invisible and refusing to furnish proof of his existence....would dismiss as fantasy the idea a man could sprout fangs and hair, and laugh at the idea of an egg laying rabbit. I would be far more inclined to believe the latter two. 24. Wow. Here in Canada (at least my part of it, Alberta) you buy a car, go to the registry, register it and get plates and tags for that vehicle. IF you had plates from a previous vehicle, you just transfer those over and you're good to go. The same day. I purchased a new Jeep in March. When I picked it up, I went to the registry, changed my plates to the new one (from the old one) and was good to go. I never would have thought you would have to wait for that. Then again, I'm in a different country. That's why I inquired as to whether it was a lease. For the vehicles I have leased the dealer was responsible for getting the plates, but even then it was a matter of only a few days. Ones I bought were as you described...go to the registry and get plates same day if you want.
