  1. Nonsense. Shear and utter nonsense. The please explain, ye All-Knowing One, why those jobs are left unfilled? There are jobs available in every part of the country, it's not a localized issue. 2. Actually, that's not true either. No, it's not infinite. But for all practical reasons in this discussion, it is close enough. I see. But if the discussion was "Those damn immigrants come to the US and take our jobs" it would be different? The truth is the economy and jobs are neither a zero sum game nor an infinite resource. Further, you wouldn't want it to be. As a zero sum game it would 100% guarantee the failure of a significant percentage of the population. If it were an infinite resource then there would be no value in money. The truth is somewhere in between where the economy rises and falls as do jobs and the money supply. The truth is that currently there is NOT a job for everyone that wants one. They simply do not exist. The papers are full of "Help Wanted" ads for anything from menial labor to highly skilled positions. Until those ads disappear, there is a job for those who want one. Thus, for all intents and purposes OF THIS DISCUSSION using the word "infinite" is acceptable since right now there are more jobs than there are people who want one. Please try to accept the gist of the discussion and not let your attempts to look intelligent reveal your true self. 7. So you blame Steve Jobs for the situation those people are in? 40 years ago we laughed at the thought of a small handheld device that enabled people to communicate thousands of miles apart. Today, we not only have such a device, we laugh at the crude simplicity of those we saw in Star Trek. Tens of thousands of lives have been saved by people having access to cell phones, home computers, internet access, and other personel electronics. Sure, iPhones and iPads, etc. are not made in the USA. But they ARE made somewhere and those people have jobs that would not exist but for people like Steve Jobs. Or maybe enhancing the lives of people in other countries doesn't count? Even though the devices are produced elsewhere, there are still tens of thousands of jobs created for people selling these devices and servicing them. Add to that the enormous amount of accessories available for them. Let's talk taxes. Try to imagine the local and state sales tax revenue generated by the sale of the devices Steve and his peers created. Steve's lifetime income would be a drop in the bucket compared to that. 8. If you think the middle class suffered while he made billions, try to imagine what being middle class today would be like if Steve and others like him were, like you, content to just collect a paycheck and didn't pursue their dreams and ideas. Sure he made billions. But what he made is peanuts compared to the overall contributions he made to society. 16. I would agree except that possession of mj is mostly illegal under federal law. When and if it is ever legal then your argument has a valid point. Like any other law, it doesn't matter if you or I agree with it, it is still the law. 17. Sexually disoriented? Let's assume you mean gay. Sorry, but they are sexually oriented just not in a direction you feel comfortable with them being in. That said your question is moot. 19. 1-1? You would be OK with one innocently convicted execution for every one guilty execution? Now we are talking about released criminals who go on to commit murder? Why do you keep changing all the parameters? Does your extremely forced comparison not work for you when you keep the parameters the same? Yes, 1-1. That's what you want to hear so that's what I'll tell you. Released convicted murderers. The way the courts are now we do release convicted murderers. They should never be released. Execution is the only way to absolutely prevent them from killing again since there is alway the possiblity of escape. If you want go ahead and do some checking. I'll bet my dollars against your dimes that more people have been murdered in this country by released convicted murderers than have been executed by the courts. If you compare the number of innocents executed they pale by comparison. 20. Unfortunately your question is not the direct opposite of mine. Not putting them to death does not mean freeing murderers. Hence, the premise of your question is false. Interesting to note you don't asnwer my question though. You have already indicated you are fine with a 1 in 10 ratio. Kill one innocent person for every 10 guilty. How about a 1 in 5? Or maybe a 1 in 2? What's your price? How's about 1-1? I know it is not realistic but I'm pretty sure you and others will settle for no other answer in this forum. So, tell me, how many innocents are you willing to let be slaughtered by released or escaped criminals in order to not have the blood of one innocent directly on your hands instead of indirectly? 1? 10?100? 21. AND in way too many cases... it has been shown that members of the police and the prosecution... have done just that LIED so they could make thier case closure stats look good. In the case of the man that Georgia and its citizens just murdered, there was no evidence, most of the eyewitneses recanted and stated for the record that the POLICE had coerced their statements at the time of the original trial. PLUS.. the real murderer of the police officer has gotten away with it... and as one of the "eye witnesses" is laughing at the State of Georgia and all the cops in the case that murdered an innocent man. Now how do you know all this? Really? Did you study the trial or something? Do you have the same outrage over the white supremacist who dragged a guy to his death who just got put to death in Texas? Maybe you could stage a protest in defense of his rights. How about the rights of that poor guy who got dragged to death? Nah. She was just suckered into believing a well rehearsed line of shit that several thousand others also bought into. Thankfully the courts saw through the smoke and mirror show. Nah... YOU have been suckered into believing a well rehearsed line of shit that several thousand others also bought into. Unfortunately the biased courts and jury bought the prosecutions smoke and mirror show and have now murdered an innocent man in the name of REVENGE. Sorry, dear. He was found guilty BY THE COURTS. Even after many years of appeals he was unable to produce enough doubt of his guilt to even get his sentnce commuted. The Supreme Court even allowed him special consideration! He was guilty. Get the fuck over it. 22. Wait a second...do you mean to tell us that there was a sneaky deal between a union man and a Chicago politician? Who woulda thunk! It may be legal...barely. And it doesn't surprise me that the mayor says it's ok. But ethical? Not in a million years. 24. Unless of course that innocent man is you or one of your loved ones. Well, then obviously those bleeding heart liberals have ruined the justice system. Wouldn't it be easier to test people for murderous tendencies and elliminate them before they could even commit the crime? What's your price to catch the truly guilty? No, that would be stupid. What's my price for catching the truly guilty? I'll answer that with a question of my own: How many innocent people are you willing to sacrifice by freeing murderers so that one innocent person is not executed by the state? 1? 2? 10? 25. It really pisses you off to be on the wrong side of history on so many things doesn't it. Your childrens children will look at you and those like you with disgust. History will show whether or not I am "on the wrong side" and it is true that they may someday look at me with disgust. Maybe. But people already look at bleeding heart liberals who have ruined this country with disgust. Of that there is no doubt.
