  1. Then people with money in their wallets shouldn't go out at night because the streets are known as dangerous at night and they have a risk of being robbed. And people with kids should move out of the neighbourhood when a sex offender moves in, because then it's their fault if something happens. And women who get raped when drunk are also at fault then because they knew the situation they were putting themselves in. It's not the victims fault. If you look at a pot of boiling water and say, "Wow..that's really hot!", and then stick your arm in anyway, guess what...it's your fault you got burned, not the cook's. And if you tell a cook his food sucks and he pours boiling water over you, the cook goes to jail. If you are in the cooks restaurant raising hell and he tells you to leave (several times) while threatening to throw boiling water on you... ... he goes to jail. Yes. But you have still been scalded. Trust me on this, leaving would have been a MUCH better option. That's where common sense comes into play. Some have it, some don't HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  2. So at what point is it applicable for "THE POLICE" to pull a "lawful order" out of their ass??? To hear you and yours... its anytime they want to exercise police powers and be damn to those rights of citizens guaranteed. Then again.. I guess those rights only apply to you in the all hallowed 1% since you are special. To read your posts one would get the impression that you, and others, feel you should be able to do what you want, when you want, where you want. Sorry, honey, that dog don't hunt. This ain't no anarchy. 3. FUCK yeah! But I would have gone one step further. I would hire a nice girl with soft hands to be my private ball washer. Every hour on the hour she would wash my balls in soap and water. Top that! Mr. Sugar Daddy! I went to a state school in NY, furthest you could get away and still be in NY state. Lots of trust fund babies who lacked proper brains to buy their way into good schools came there. I use to have a bottle of crystal in my fridge at all times...never paid for it...but i always had one. Trust fund baby would throw a party....I would walk to the fridge grab a few bottles and pass them on to friends and keep one for me. The dumb fucks really thought we were their friends....hell no! As long as the drinks were there and he was paying...sure we knew them...but when it was gone....didn't know who the kids were. Crystal, huh? That explains 99% of your posts in SC. 4. And if you tell a cook his food sucks and he pours boiling water over you, the cook goes to jail. If you are in the cooks restaurant raising hell and he tells you to leave (several times) while threatening to throw boiling water on you....you pretty much chose your own fate. yow - this cooking analogy has been pretty awful. Jakee's was the only one in the ballpark. BD - the park is not a restaurant, owned by the cops. It's owned by the people (ie, the customer). They do have a right to assemble and protest - it's spelled out in the First Amendment. I wonder if the courts will be asked to rule conclusively on the camping angle - I suspect/support a finding that long term unhealthful inhabitation of a space is not covered by the right of assembly. In any event, it would be hard to say that one must expect cops to be swinging their batons and bicycles wildly. Given that we treat murder of a pregnant woman as two couples of homicide...shouldn't the cop be charged with manslaughter? No, rather than mope on about whether or not she should have been there, and make up terrible analogies to support this, the focus should really be on DID THIS ACTUALLY HAPPEN? Sure it's owned by "the people". However, they had been ordered to disperse. Higher courts have ruled that the First Am. is not without limits. yes, you can assemble and protest. But you cannot assemble and protest indefinitely on public property. Jakees analgy made sense? Yet you argue that there is little in common between a private restaurant and a public park? Make up your mind. HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  5. WOW! Is there a sight or study for that referenced number?! Matt Nah. The highest current estimates for the native population in the late 15th century is 100 million, but this number is disputed. Low estimate is 10 million. Again, disputed. 8. I'm not saying a lot of natives were murdered in the name of progress, but 100 million? First you would have to accept the absolute highest estimate of native population when Europeans first set foot on these lands, then you would have to assume each and every one was murdered. Fact is, most died from diseases brought over by the Europeans long before westward expansion was past a couple hundred miles from the east coast. Even though smallpox was deliberately introduced to the native populations, by that time the damage was already done and those contaminations accounted for only a small fraction of the total deaths. 9. Even if a) She was pregnant and, b) She did miscarry, was it a result of pepper spray? An aunt of mine miscarried at a family dinner with near zero physical or emotional stress. Recently a woman ran two marathons while pregnant, the last near full term, and the baby was fine. 10. +1 Everything that happens to us is a direct result of choices we have made. There are those who believe we are not responsible for our actions and therefore blame others for all bad things that happen Those same people like to take credit for all good things that happen. 14. When they fixed the game.. its impossible to play by their rules which is what you are expecting them to do.... It's not impossible. I have several close friends who each started with very little or nothing and now enjoy a very confortable life as members of "the 1%". They got there through intelligence and hard work. Most people, probably 90%, are not willing to work hard enough or make the commitments it takes to be that successful. It isn't easy nor should it be. 16. Unfortunately, you have yet to prove the point. Yeah, I'm left somewhat confused by the randomness of attemptting to show a cause and effect. His reasoning is akin to saying we should thank mass murderers for us being alive. After all, it was murder that brought about laws against murder. Yep, I'm ever so indepted to all those bad people thoughout history. 17. and how is the rule of law imposed on the ruthless... Through the courts. I'll assume you actually are intelligent enough to have known that. so out of anarchy arise courts... (an invention of the 99% not the 1%) And your point is what? 19. A true anarchy would stifle freedom of speech. If somebody didn't what you said, they could kill you without any laws to stop them. very quickly people would stop speaking out against anything...either willfully or by force. Anarchy, being the lack of law, would inevitably lead to the lack of all freedom for all but the most ruthless. 21. Bush didn't just make or attempt a strike against Saddam now, did he? Teeny bit more difference between the two actions than A = citizen and B = not citizen. No more difference, not for the intents of this discussion. But, if you really want to go there, ok. Saddam, who was not a US citizen, was killing his own people by the hundreds and thousands. Entire villages at a time by testing chemical weapons on them. An Amazon has a problem with that because it was a Republican president who was in office. Anwar al Awlaki was a US citizen who was engaged in ations against his own country. Though an asshole who needed killing, he had rights as a US citizen that Saddam did not. And Amazon is just fine with those rights being pushed aside. 23. DAYUM.. I was not aware Saddam was an American.. covered by the Partiot Act..... I think if you look back.. I also brought up just how GOAT FUCK STUPID you and your Glorius Leaders Awsum Adventure into Iraq was going to turn out. Everyone who supported the PNAC dipshits in this debacle... can also go fuck themselves.... for the thousands of unneccessary dead Americans as well as all the others. Funny how that works. Anyone want to take some side bets on how long it is before there is a ShiaStan( run by Iran),,, a Kurdistan( just long enought to pis off the Turks and they commit another Genocide of the Kurds this time.. like the Armenians).... and a SunniStan aligned with Saudi Arabia and Jordan... instead of the idiocy that was a country called Iraq??? Saddam, wasn't a US citizen, which is exactly my point. You think Bush is an asshole for going after a sadistic tyrant dictator who is engaged in genocide against his own people, yet you support Obama giving the ok to kill a US citizen without benefit of trial. How the FUCK can you claim to support the Constitution when you defend a terrorist like Saddam over a US citizen? HOW????? Don't bother explaining. We all know the how and why. 24. The President doesn't. The previous administration put a system in place by which terrorists are identified by the US military and CIA for targeted killings. You really should read up on how the process works before spouting off about it. I've posted a couple of links to Wikipedia to get you started. You might also want to read this.; http://wiki.victorybriefs.com/images/9/9c/Murphy_and_Radsan_(2009),_'Due_Process_and_Targeted_Killing_of_Terrorists'.pdf Ultimately the President, whichever one is currently in office, has the final say, but to jump to the conclusion that the President simply finds a personal enemy of his and orders that he be killed is simply wrong. There is, in fact, a system of checks and balances in place to ensure only legitimate (under US and international law) targeted killings take place. This was absolutely the case here. Like you said, the president has the final say. Thank you for proving my point.
