  1. My best guess is that will work, but will be a firm fit. I had a DOM 1994 size 0 Atom and I had a Mayday (156 sq ft) and a Merit 170 main. It was the largest I could fit.
  2. No one is getting fined. There has been a complaint lodged against ALLEGING misconduct. Innocent until proven guilty. Or so I have been taught.
  3. Picked up this beauty (1966 Mark I PC) and it has MASS SPC on the stabilizer. My best guess is Massachusetts Sport Parachute Club. Anyone have any other guesses/suggestions ? tnx !
  4. From personal experience : Don't talk to Kurt. Unless you like getting a run around. He does have some skydives from about 15-20 years ago, and is a very experienced PPG pilot, but he is very unreliable.
  5. if you are 130lbs, you will be wasting money buying a brand new container for a 210 main. Within your first 50 jumps you will be whining about wanting to downsize. I have never met anyone aside from accuracy jumpers who jump a .76 WL on regular basis.
  6. I am a firm believer that functional should trump neat 100%. While neat, the square fold does not quarter the slider properly...
  7. Toggles slow down one side and cause the other to go past it, thus generating a turn. Pulling on the front outside line causes that side to speed up and dive, thus causing a much faster turn. Just think of where the steering lines are attached, and where the front lines are attached and of the physics of such input.
  8. Its a steal. Buy it before i do.
  9. I doubt that you could fit, let alone jump a MLW that's 4" too short, especially if the same harness has laterals that are 3" too short.
  10. Do you know when things really start to suck ? When as much as you tell yourself that your mechanical 42 stitch bartacker does most of the jobs ok-ish, you know perfectly well that you are about to dump some ungodly amount of $$$ into buying a Juki 1900 :(
  11. Yep. Steven Creek Audi, San Jose CA. They loaned me a 2012 Audi A8 with 20K miles on it FREE while my Audi was in for maint. Needless to say I was in no rush to get my 6 year old second hand car back. The A8 was insane. It has radar cruise control that can follow traffic and even do stop and go. Also has a wheel shaker that warns you if you drift out of your lane. Many more amazing features. I think SSK Cypres should have free loaners. Just get a huge deposit fully refundable when returned. Customer should pay shipping both ways. 377 You should get into politics. Those guys are also very good at taking things out of context or only quoting partial statemetns. Note where I stated "please don't bring up posh luxury brands" ? A customer with an Audi, even a 6 year old one, is a potential customer for the $70K+ A8. I stand by my statement. Pay more, get better service. Or just add the cost of the rental to the cost of the maintenance, and consider it like getting a free loaner.
  12. Thanks - I did not know about that. Still a bit out of order IMO to charge for the rental to cover the fact that they require you to be without the unit they sold you. Ever hear of a car service place providing free rentals when your car needs regular maintenance ? I haven't either... (please don't bring up posh luxtury brands. If Airtec sold the Cypres units for $5K I am certain they would provide an overnighted loaner unit with a free repack)
  13. Cypres1 gives +/- 3 months Cypres2 gives +/- 6 months so yes, its legal to jump for 4 years and a day short of 3 or 6 months depending on the model
  14. Cypres1 wont give you a code. Cypres2 will. You do not have to do the service within that time, thats only the time at which the unit stays airworthy. In other words you can do the service 4+ months after the date, and it will be fine, just illegal to jumpuntil the service is complete.
  15. Like everyone else had said : Keep it out of the sun, store it properly and do the proper maintenance and the container will outlast you. Thigs like BOC, risers, pilot chute and possibly the reserve poptop if exposed will need changing a few times in the container life time. One of my containers has 1400+ jumps on it and still looks like new. I did put a new harness on it last year, but the container is all original. Being tyedye it's really hard to see much wear on it. I have had a number of 2000 and 2500 jumps containers come through and they were still 100% airworthy, although they did show wear.
  16. you must not have looked hard enough... re : http://sunpath.com/old/web_en/index.php?menu_level1=3&menu_level2=5 yes, the volumes are the same between K and pre-K series, but the shape has changed a little.
  17. Well, there are plenty of people using 20U's with E thread, so I would guess that you need a better mechanic. Or better yet - get the service manual, and get DYIing !
  18. It's as international as it gets for me... I don't get to leave NY very often so I'm treating it as that kind of trip. Does that mean you treat going to Europe like space travel ?
  19. What's so international about Puerto Rico for a person from NY ???
  20. What about : Dave DeWolf Moe Viletto Bob Sinclair Robert Pecnik
  21. May I disagree with you ? Not all reserves are flat packed Not all reserves are 7 cells the difference is in bagging, closing, bridle placement, etc. Can you not give advice in the area that you know very little about ?
  22. if you still have the same email as you did when you bought the rig, look through your old emails around the dates you bought the rig OR get the SN. Contact Mirage. Get in touch with the original owner. Follow the chain of ownership.
  23. May I disagree ? I have quite a few jumps on large F111 7 cells with over 300 and over 400 jumps, and I never felt anything close to what you are describing. A 1000+ jump F111 Manta on the other hand was quite interested in getting down very faster. 350 jumps ain't new, but it's definitely not unairworthy.
