You may be correct. And you are welcome to start a Business and base your policies on that concept. Sounds like there may be a market for it. In the mean time, Other Business have decided not to base their Policies off that idea. As long as they are abiding by the terms and conditions of the policies they actually sell, Go for it. What people seem to forget is that Insurance companies are private Businesses that sell a Product. You can choose to buy that product (Along with its terms and conditions) or shop around for another product that better suits your needs. Again.. It is wrong to force a company to sell a product they feel they will loose money on. Weather they are right or wrong about that is irrelevant. These are private companies selling a "Policy". That policy will have terms, Conditions and exclusions. If the policy fits, Buy it. If it does not.. DONT. If they don't want to sell it to you, Go somewhere else. If there is Not Insurance available for you, Then yes, I support a Public option and do not mind paying higher taxes to fund that. This company has decided to change their policies based on this, That is great for them More business for them. The real problem with all this healthcare mess in my opinion is people have gotten so accustomed to "Employer provided" health insurance (In which they have very little choice in their policies) that they forget that CAN shop around. the whole "Group Policy" concept is the real problem. Do away with group policies and let people buy their own insurance and suddenly the Insurance companies will have to get competitive again. Also people will have a lot more choice and say in what coverage they want. Right now the Insurance companies just have to sell to employers and that is what they geared towards. Simple solution is do away with Employer Provided Group Policies. Make the Insurance Companies have to sell to Individuals and they will have to adapt to be more fair and flexible else they will go out of business.

Again, A public option for people that can not get private insurance is a good idea if implemented in a way that does not kill private insurance and competition. Yes it would. And there are clinics and Public Options available just about everywhere that will do exactly that. I would prefer to see an option available where this child could get Insurance but I do not fault the Business (Insurance Company) for being consistent in their policies.

If you are above the 95th percentile in Height/Weight that product is not available. You are welcome to shop around for another product or pay for your own (or in this case, Your children) medical expenses. It is not punitive although it is easy to perceive it that way. It is just a reasonable business decision. And I am not opposed to a Public Option for these types of situations where Private Coverage may not be available. My point was not to go on a witch hunt for the "Evil Insurance Company" when they are just being consistent in applying the rules.

The Business (Insurance Company) has a Policy that they do not offer their Product (Insurance Coverage) to people above the 95th percentile. The parents are free to shop around and see if they can find another Business that offers a product that would meet their needs. People seem to forget that Insurance Companies are Businesses that sell a Product. Those products are well defined Insurance policies that will cover some things and not cover other things. People are free to either Buy them or to Not buy them. No one is saying "Just let him sicken and/or die". The parents could always pay for their child's heath care themselves and if something really serious came up, There are many different programs available that would make sure the infant got treatment for life threatening illness.

And back on track.. People need to be rational.. The Olympics = Good Choice. Nobel Prize = Poor Choice. And it does not have to a political statement to say this.

I cant say I cheered when Chicago Lost the Olympic bid.. But I did think the Olympic Committee made a good choice. It was the right choice and it had absolutely NOTHING to do with Obama. Seriously.. Ever been to Chicago??? The weather sucks, the people are Rude, the politicians are corrupt and the Unions are ridiculous there. Just try getting anything built there. What?? You do realize that Americans do not have any say in who wins?? How the hell could you possibly think that American Sentiment on who is or was in office has any bearing at all on who wins the Nobel Prize?? Carter deserved the Award. As a die hard conservative that firmly believes that Carter possibly was the worst president domestically in history.. I can also clearly see why he was awarded the Nobel prize and applaud that award. He did earn that award. BO has done NOTHING to deserve this award. It makes a mockery of a great honor by giving to someone that has done nothing to deserve it. That is NOT hate speak, That is not Political.. It is simply wrong when there were other people on the nomination list that had accomplishments worthy of the Award.

Because he did not "WIN" the award. He was Given the Award. There is a HUGE difference. He had not done anything of consequence to promote world peace at the time he was nominated (Or to date for that matter). Carter was a Liberal that was given the award. I cheered that because Carter earned the award by working had to bring peace to the middle-east. Obama has not yet earned this award but I do truly hope that someday he would deserve it. That day has not yet come. This discredits what was once one of the worlds highest Honors simply because it was given to someone that had not earned it.

I believe in American Values first and foremost. I do not label myself Republican as I find parts of the Republican party disgusting (Primarily the Religious Right) but I am definitely conservative. Traditional American Values such as individual freedom, self-reliance, equality of opportunity, hard work, material wealth, and competition I hold much higher than any any Political Label. These are what comes first in my Book. I do not hate Obama. He is my president and I respect the office he holds. I do oppose some of the ideals that he represents as they contradict what I believe are the core principals of this nation. The Office of President was not given the Nobel prize, Obama was given the Award. I do not cheer this award simply because the MAN B.O. has not yet done anything that would justify this Honor. I though Carter was possibly one of the the worst president in American History Domestically (Double Digit Inflation, Astronomical Interest Rates, No Economic Growth, Poor response to the Iran Hostage Crisis), Yet I understand why he was Given the Nobel Prize and he did deserve it for the work he did to bring Peace to the Middle east. Obama has not accomplished much of anything as president and certainly not anything that would warrant one of the worlds highest Honors for promoting Peace. I hope that he would be deserving of this award by the time his term ends. That would be great for everyone and certainly something to be celebrated regardless of Political Beliefs.. However he has not yet earned that award.

Short Women are the Best. I am 6'1" and If I can find a Girl under 5" tall, I don't have to worry about her Knees getting sore. Never had the Patience for D&D even back in the day. I had friends that would play for days without stopping. My Attention span was too short for that. Eventually we Found games like Talisman, Diplomacy and a few others that could be played in 4 to 6 hours. About as long as I can focus on anything at one time. Same social aspects but a whole lot less dice rolling.

Happens all the time. Last time I went to Costa Rica, The best Airfare available at the time was about $770 Round Trip from Atlanta (Non-stop). Then I found our that the same airline was running a special Miami to Costa Rica for $199 (Connecting in Atlanta Both way). So Get on the Plan in Atlanta - $770 Get on the plane in Miami and fly to Atalanta to get on the same exact Flight to CR - $199 So I bough a Oneway ticket to Miami for $120. Bought a Round Trip Miami-SanJose Costa Rica for $199 Flew to Miami got on the plane that flew To Atlanta and then on to San Jose. On the way Back, I just got off in Atlanta. Saved me $450 and Got some extra skymiles that I needed to make status that year.
