I have to get a Smart Phone for work. Has to be on Verizon/ Looking for opinions. I was totally sold on the Android until I actually went and looked the phone. The huge problem I had was my eyesight sucks and is getting worse all the time (I should have listen when Mom said I would go Blind doing that). The Icons and Fonts were just too small. I had trouble reading them. The inhouse droid Guru at the Verizon store came over and I asked him how to increase the font size. 45 minutes later and after he made 3 phone calls and searched the web... He still could not figure out how to make the OS Font bigger or increase the size of the icons. Finally he said, I am sure someone will come out with an app for the sooner or later. Anyone have a Droid?? Can you change the Default Font size for the OS? Anyone have any other suggestions for a Good Smart Phone on Verizon?

Rainy Weekend here, Nothing else to to so I gave in and went to see the movie. The Good: It was better than I expected. I saw it in IMax 3d and the Visuals were great. The Story (While almost a word for word rip-off of Pocahontas) was interesting enough to keep me awake for the 160 plus minutes. I also must say that this movie was one of the rare exceptions where the actual Movie was better than the Preview. The Bad: The Sound!! I absolutely hate it when either Theaters and/or directors decide that VOLUME is the way to accent scenes and build excitement. The sound was great for the most part in movie but about 4 or 5 times during the movie as a crescendo was Building, Someone decided that turning the Volume up to 11 was a great idea. I honestly wanted to just walk out so I could get away from the almost painful noise. The Ugly: The IMax 3d Glasses. VERY uncomfortable. One size fits None was the objective and the succeeded spectacularly. The hard plastic really bit into the bridge of your nose and pinched the side of your head. If 3d is really going to start becoming a Standard, Hopefully we will someday have glasses that are not uncomfortable to wear. Summary: Well worth the $15 Ticket. Entertaining but a little preachy. Spectacular Visuals that really should be seen on the big screen and in 3D.

oh, and I forgot, i will be looking for tables where people actually use these terms in conversation, because it just screams: HERE SITS A BIG FISH! EAT ME! Forget about the old Cliche about "If you don't know who the sucker is at the Table , It is probably you." Just look for the first person to start quoting Rounders at the table. THAT is usually the sucker.

Crue was good band (Shout at the Devil was a GREAT album) But when it comes to the best Metal Band Ever.. Sorry but Iron Maiden immediately comes to mind. Rock is broad a Category to pick any one band as the best ever.

I was just there last week. Stayed at the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles. Had a good time there (Although the Craps Table did take a HUGE bite out of my wallet).

Bullshit!! You are 100 times more likely to HEAR ABOUT a Pitbull attack than other breeds. Never forget that the #1 agenda of the press is "How can we scare you today". The press has done a great job in Vilifying Pit Bulls. People are scared of Pit Bulls and the press loves to cover any time one is involved in an attack. Kids get bitten by dogs everyday but you dont hear about it unless it is a Pitt Bull or other "Bad Breed". I grew up with a Pittbull as a Family pet. She was the sweetest and most loyal dog you could imagine (as Most Pitts are). My brother currently has Pitt bull and a Black Lab living with his 3 small children. Guess which one has nipped the kids? Also guess which dog made sure the Lab will think more than twice before she does it again. There are some bad Pitts out there. Some owners take pride in how "Bad" their Pitt Bull is and make them aggressive but the vast majority of Pitts are Loyal, Sweet dogs that are very protective of their families.

The real question is "What Tebow Do?" I bet Tebow would be man enough to stand up and say what is on his mind. Sorry that this guy is lesser of a man.

No Check Engine Lights?? Not Overheating?? Does it run smooth otherwise? (No Skipping or misfiring?) Possible bad Fuel or Clogged Fuel Filter like Jan suggested. Other Possibilities are Electrical Problem such as a Battery with a Bad cell or Weak Battery, Bad Sensor somewhere or faulty wiring. Best bet is to get it to a real Mechanic and have them take a look. Car dying on the Highway can be very dangerous for you and others on the road. Ignore us shade tree guys and get a trained mechanic to check it out.

No. If someone was trying to intentionally Kill My Dog without Cause, I would use whatever means I had available to stop them. Including Lethal force if necessary. Pets are a Member of the Family. Family must be protected. That said, I do not generally allow animals in the house. People live in Houses, Animals live outside. Pets included. In extreme weather conditions that are unsafe for animals to be outside, I will bring them into a heated garage. Likewise, If I have to make a choice between My Pet (or any Animal) and a Random Human, The pet will loose. Example.. A Dog and a Person run out in fount of my car, I will swerve towards the dog in order to miss the person even if it is my own pet. Every situation is different so I ca not say "Unequivocally More Important to Protect" but I would say generally and usually more important to protect Humans over Animals.

You can take ANYONE to small Claims court. You can Ask for most anything. The question is do you have a case and is it worth it to go through many months worth of aggravation and headaches to possibly get a judgment that you may or may not ever be able to collect.

Did you click on the link? It opened a page showing that Dallas has a crime rate 29.5% higher than Washington, D.C. That doesn't sound like they're the same. And it shows that DC has a 21% higher Violent Crime Rate than Dallas. Edit: And close to a 100% higher Murder Rate.

The Link Kallend posted separated Violent Crime and then Property Crime. DC had a MUCH higher Violent Crime rate. Dallas had a Much Higher Property Crime rate. I also wonder if property crime rate has to do with "Reported" Property crimes vs Actual Property Crimes? I can see how people in DC would be less likely to report property Crimes. Also I would suspect that poverty levels (Being much higher in DC) have more to do with these figures than anything else. People living very bad areas such as the projects in DC are not generally going to report Property crimes as they tend to avoid any contact with police if possible. Violent Crime is much more likely to be reported.\ Edited to correct spelling.

Really?? WOW. I had no idea. I never would have thought of that. What I am discovering after doing exactly that for many hours over the past week or so is: a. The eBook selection is not quite what I had hoped it would be. (Over half the Books suggested here so far are not available yet) b. Shopping for Books online will take a little getting used to. It is not quite the same as Standing in the Bookstore, scanning the shelves, Pulling down a Books, Reading the jackets and making a decision. I am sure I will adapt over time but so far I have not been able to make that transition (Thus I decided to ask for some recommendations). c. I usually shop Used Book Stores. If you grab 5 or 10 Books and discover you don't like a couple of them, the Books maintain some Trade value for your next visit. This is not the case with eBooks so I am being more selective than I would normally be. d. There are A LOT of free ebooks available at Amazon. Many by newer authors that are giving away their work hoping for some exposure. So many in fact that picking a just one or two is difficult. But if anyone has any recommendations for good reads, Please keep them coming (And I am open to all Genre`s.. Actually I would prefer to look outside of sci-fi/fantasy and broaden my reading a bit) Loving the Kindle so far, Just having trouble picking out new books to put on it.

Is this book a follow up to Da Vinci code and/or Angels & Demons? I have not read the others, Should I read them before this latest one?

Nope. And that is the biggest complaint I have about it however I can see why it is not. The "Paper and Ink" technology it uses really is amazing and would not look as good if back lit.

Got a spiffy new Kindle 2 for Christmas, Now looking for new reading material to drop on it?? I Like the Kindle so far but I am really having trouble picking out new books for it. Going to take some getting used to not being able to browse books the way I am used to at the Bookstore. I generally read a lot of Sci-Fi/Fantasy and have a paperback library of over 500 books at home. I don't really want to "Buy" them again if I have already read them. What suggestions do you have? (Not limited to Sci-Fi/Fantasy.. Any Genera would be good)

James Cameron?? You mean the guy that is mostly responsible for Celene Dions resurgence a few year back? That alone is reason enough to boycott him for life. Yes his Movies make a lot of money and generally are pretty good. But this latest one.. I just think it looks too much like looking over someones shoulder while they a play Video game. I am sure it will make lots of money and people will talk about how innovative it is, I was just curious if anyone else out there saw the previews and thought "Wow, I gotta see that movie". Personally I think I will just grab a 12 pack and head over to one of my supergeek friends house and say "Can you play WOW and Battlemech at the same time and merge them on one monitor for 2 hours, Here is $10. Same thing far as I can tell from the previews. Besides.. We all know he just stole the idea from Eric Cartmans "Dances with Smurfs" book anyway.

the new Avatar movie opens tonight... Anyone actually going to see it?? I love a good (Or even Bad for that mater) Sci-Fi/Fantasy Flick more than most, However the previews for this just do not appeal to me at all... All I can think of is WOW!! I can go pay $10 to WATCH a cheesy Video game. Uhhh.. No Thanks. Cant figure out why so many people are excited about this movie. Can anyone here explain it to me?
