I did it. I used one of the 0% interest for a year checks that my card company sent out to purchase my gear. I had nothing on the card when I purchased it and I paid the rig off 9 months after I purchased it. I didn't put anything else on the card either. I would say that if you do plan on using your credit card, make damm sure that you can pay it off and know ALL the caveats that come with using your card. The credit companies are out to screw you and make money off late fees, and interest charges. I think I got lucky with how my situation turned out. I'd look at loans from the bank first to see what the interest rates and terms are. You'll probably get a better deal from them. Look into the future and figure out how much you plan to jump for the next year at least. Figure out the cost of renting vs buying gear and paying interest on the loan. I was the one who designed the patch. The patch had to be modified to reduce the number of colors due to cost and rescale some things so they would be viewable. I've attached the final design (hopefully) and a set of stickers I designed as well. If anyone wants to used the original patch design, the simplified one, or stickers just let me know. I can provide high resolution art of everything. Everyone thank Laura Thaxton as well for her help with the coordination with the patch manufacturer and printing out all the stickers. I've got the exact same canopy. Yes it does open fast but if you learn to pack it right you'll get a fast but not hard opening. Mine has slammed me a few times, causing me to curse the day it was manufactured but overall it's a good canopy. The few times it did slam me, I was in a hurry and trash packed it.
