  1. I know there were a few discussions around sony’s new HDR-CX7 however has anyone jumped one yet and given any feedback as to if its actually usable for skydiving?
  2. Hi there. Ok so I know generally skydivers don’t even talk DVD or HDD recording but what about SD card? There are no arms which allow for skipping or anything so I don’t see a problem here. All I can gather is that this is a great new release from Sony. HDR-CX7. It’s small, low profile, lightweight and obviously has all the added benefits that DVD recording would have over Mini DV. http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=HDRCX7&Dept=cameras&CategoryName=dcc_DICamcorders_HighDefinitionVideo Any comments? Thanks, Heath
  3. thanks and sorry, will make use of the search now that i know about it.
  4. One of the accessories for the cam is a remote switch so I gather that the feature must be included in the cam. Just a matter of time till someone can make one that we can use. I don’t know if the cam will work well for Tandem stills as I’m sure it will only be able to take and process one at a time which means no burst shots. However if you have time between loads maybe you can pull a few more stills at 6.1mega pixel. (according to the spec sheet)
  5. Can any one recommend a few stills cams that I could check out?
  6. Apparently you can. According to the spec sheet there is a function called “Dual record” the exact wording is as follows HDR-HC7E “While recording video in high definition, you have the ability to capture a 4.6 megapixel still image directly to Memory Stick Duo™ media” This is why im so excited
  7. Hi, Does anyone know if there is a cameye + bite switch in one available for the likes of the Sony HDR-HC7E or HDR-HC5E? The above mentioned cams both have the reasonable resolution while using in video recording and I would like to take advantage of this as it saves me strapping a still onto my head as well. O yea and I obviously would still like to keep the cameye available. Any feedback is welcome! Thanks Heath
  8. Hi, Can anyone tell me if HDD based cameras are as unstable as DVD based cams? Thanks, Heath
