I can understand teaching the kids to eat healthy, but what is next? Should school be resonsible for teaching the kids _everything_ they need to know in life? Is this really the solution? I just see school taking the place of parents more and more and it's a little disturbing.

I think the increase in sattelite radio activity in the market is due to the speculation that Howard Stern is moving to sattelite. He hasn't made any specific announcements but he does mention moving quite often. I think it would be great for sattlite readio if he moved over.

It is one thing to want to protect your property. It's another thing to sue your fans. They are assholes and they will never lose that stigma they gained by doing that. I love their old music but I think they've become the flagship for everything that is wrong with music today. Music shoved down your throat while competition and fair use are stomped out. They didn't understand the new technology, feared it, so they tried to squash it and failed. Napster was taken down only to be replaced by other networks. They helped create a whole genre of music, but their music now sounds tired and just plain fake.

Yeah the screwed up thing about the bible was the fact that it's been translated so many times and is comprised of so many works. Might as well be a compilation of ancient Mayan works translated to old english via morse code. Then throw in the fact that some people take every word literally and you got a conflict waiting to happen. But still the general meaning is there. 'Thou shall not kill' is kinda hard to not understand, regardless of translation.

Fair enough. I just think this practice breeds nothing but conflict within a family, which IMO should have a stronger bond than any bond to a man-made organization. Choosing to love god, follow his path, and putting no one before him doesn't mean put no one before the church. They seem to put themselves and their practices in the place of God, speaking for God and his wishes and I disagree with that. I still talk to both her and her mother and both are good people, just with different beliefs about what is right. Hopefully one day they can call a "truce".

I'll tell you exactly why I dislike the Jehova's Witness group - excommunication (or disfellowship). When you commit what is deemed a sin and disobey god's law (determined by a judgement of church elders) then you are disfellowshipped and removed from the church. Other JW's will then treat such a person as if they do not exist (this is demanded of them unless they also with to be excommunicated) regardless of how you were related before. My child's mother comitted a sin by having a kid out of marriage and was removed. Her own mother does not speak to her now. Now who in their right mind would not talk to their own child because they have been removed from the group? I'd like to see anyone try to tell me to not talk to my child because they had comitted such a sin. I'd walk right out. It's not as if she commited murder but yet she was treated with contempt. Not exactly what Jesus would do. I'm not against religion, each person has his/her own beliefs and I respect that, but I think this particular practice is especially vile and it has touched someone I love. I'd do the same thing. But I wouldn't be surprised when I got prison time. Even a manslaughter charge means years in prison. But I doubt any of the cosequences would go through my mind when I saw him. I would make no apologies to the court.
