  1. They got a microwave and electricity down there?? Ummm, they can prepare it on the surface first, you know. I just had visions of popcorn running down these long tubes, deep into the earth. It's like Willy Wonka! TPM Sister #102
  2. Sounds very AKC! TPM Sister #102
  3. Awww, she's cute, and she IS shiny! How precious! But . . . how did you go from a raft and oars to a puppy??? TPM Sister #102
  4. LOL! I hope she doesn't live up to that name! TPM Sister #102
  5. Popcorn would fit, but then the whole place would smell. TPM Sister #102
  6. I'd NEVER be able to name a child! My husband and I are bringing home a little chihuahua this weekend. She's charting to be all of 2.75 pounds when she grows up, and she needs a name. My husband and I have talked about names like Delilah, Doxy (not so good--it's a word for a prostitute), Gracie, Piccola, Maya . . . . Anyone have any good ideas to throw into the mix? She's a little tri-color puppy, mostly black, with tan eyebrows and paws. TPM Sister #102
  7. I have a very good friend who was recently diagnosed as bi-polar, so I've learned more about this illness than I expected to but still adamantly believe I know just enough to be dangerous. What I *do* think I correctly understand about this illness is that it can manifest itself in a variety of ways, including promiscuous behavior and in excessive spending. I don't think it's an excuse, but if the illness actually is underlying the problems you've been having, perhaps your counseling needs to look at the bi-polar components of the relationship. Making sure her medication is right could be important, too. Before you make any dramatic decisions, I would suggest examing at least those issues with your counselor and her doctor. Then, any decision you make can be an educated one. (Edited to fix typographical stuttering.) TPM Sister #102
  8. Sometimes you just have to change the rules. TPM Sister #102
  9. Maybe YOUR seed is SUPPOSED to grow mildew. What kind of plants are these things, anyway? TPM Sister #102
  10. Awww, it's cute! They're precious. TPM Sister #102

    Who is cooler?

They still are, I refuse to accept Twilight as a "vampire" genre film The scary thing is that I met a Russian lady on vacation who informed me that the Twilight books are MUCH better in the original English than their Russian translations. I have no idea what she thinks of the movies, but yeah . . . . Those Russian novels must be pretty bad! TPM Sister #102
  12. Nice stats--especially the "not dead yet" part! You've got some great milestones. Any plans to add to the list this year? TPM Sister #102
  13. Vail's not too far from Breckenridge, either, and it's pretty romantic if you want an evening to yourselves. I think you can take a gondola to the top of the mountain (snow or no snow), which is fun. Other suggestions: hockey will be starting about that time, if you want to catch an Avs game; that's about the right time to hear the elk bugling in Estes Park (and Estes Park is fun, too); there's a Georgetown Loop Railroad, where you can take a short ride of about an hour-and-a-half on a train through the mountains; there's an aquarium downtown. . . . Lots to do! TPM Sister #102
  14. Yippeee! October can be a nice time to be here! You will probably be a little late for fall leaves in the mountains but I would expect some beautiful days just the same. Breck is an easy drive from Denver, so you should be able to stay in town or in the mountains. Are you looking for active things to do, or beautiful scenery to see? Do you need restaurant suggestions? There are LOTS of options! TPM Sister #102
  15. It's good advice. Even if it's a casual office atmosphere, you want to be the one who stands out (in a good way) if cuts ever DO have to be made. It's a good attitude to foster and it will serve you well--not just here, but other places, too. Glad you're excited about your new job! It makes all the difference if you like your work and the people you're working with! TPM Sister #102
  16. Have a great birthday! I hope it's wonderful! TPM Sister #102
  17. Redirecting the air would solve a lot of the problem, I think. It's not so bad when it's not blowing directly on me. I can't otherwise adjust the thermostat to the area, though, as it's a big area and not everyone gets even cooling and heating. You know how it goes. If one side is comfortable, the other side hates it. As for all the hot, miserable places I could be--yep, I get it. Relentless heat is miserable and I'm fortunate to be somewhere tolerable, if not downright pleasant outside. But yeah, it's still cold in the office today! TPM Sister #102
  18. I'd send some of the cold air your way if I could! I'm just asking for a happy medium, but being hot is miserable, too--especially if it's humid. TPM Sister #102

    Creepy or not?

Yeah, that's a little too personal for a real sense of professionalism. Being friendly is nice enough, but without some sort of personal relationship to back it up, it just seems like the good doctor is a little too zealous in his bedside manner. It could be completely innocent, but . . . yeah. A handshake would work. TPM Sister #102
  20. LOL! Fair enough . . . although, I'd be less likely to complain about that. It's only 72 degrees out but it feels like they're planning for a high of 90. Sheesh. TPM Sister #102
  21. I'm one of those people who are always cold. I admit it. But seriously, why does it seem that every office building I work in is constructed so it can be converted to a meat locker at a moment's notice?? I am tired of wearing a coat to work in and wouldn't mind if they saved a little expense by cutting back on the blowing air. Grousing over; just had to get that out of my system. TPM Sister #102
  22. I had a chihuahua (about 8 pounds) who had surgery on both knees for luxating patellas and she did just fine. I did one surgery when she was fairly young because she favored that leg a bit, but even then, she never acted like she was in severe pain. She did well with the surgery and recovered like a champ. I had the other surgery done several years later. By then, things had advanced and they recommended some do-it-yourself, at-home physical therapy to push her to use the leg again. (This was not a problem the first time around; she used the leg again almost immediately.) By this time, she was a teenager and the therapy hurt, so I decided that at her age, she could limp if she needed to but I wasn't going to put her through that. She had other plans. She recovered, used the leg fully, and did great yet again. I wouldn't panic over the patella. I WOULD find out the estimated cost of the surgery and start saving for it since you know it may be an issue. The surgeries for my dog ran about $1,500 each--nowhere NEAR $4,000, but not cheap, either. I'm sure every patella story is different, but even after going through this twice, I wouldn't say my dog's experience was particularly bad. Yes, she had to have surgery, but she handled it well and the recovery was fairly quick and easy. I hope that's your experience, too! TPM Sister #102
  23. There's a place next to Mataam Fez called, "The Clinic on Colfax" with a big marijuana leaf symbol on the sign out front. It's located right next door to the "Dimensions in Awareness Counseling Agency." Wow! TPM Sister #102
  24. I'm so sorry. I've missed all the news leading up to this thread but I feel terrible for you from what it sounds like. I don't always understand how things work but NOW I'll pray that you are given a way to mentally and emotionally cope with all of this, court rulings aside. TPM Sister #102
