    Wings

What can I say, the rig design and construction is totally SOLID and super comfy. The rig has excellent pin protection and the hip rings make for a superbly comfortable rig. I bought mine used (3 Years old) and I had a minor concern with a part of the rig and I decided to drop by the factory when I was in Z-Hills and they offered to "fix" it, repack it, and ship it to me without any questions or charges. I was absolutely blown away! I had heard about how good they were to do business with, but now I know that "Sunrise is the PD of Container Manufacturers." When I buy new...I'm buying WINGS!!
  2. I spent 3 days in Z-Hills on a recent trip to Orlando. I REALLY liked this DZ. Facilities: This place is a DZ you can live/camp at for a long time, tons of camping spots and RV hookups, as well as City Hall, the Hard Dock Cafe, Sunshine Factory Store, etc. The facilities are right up there with Eloy and Perris! Aircraft: They had 3 nice Otters while I was there. I think this is what puts them behind places like Eloy and Perris as they do not have any selection in aircraft. Also, I do not like that they do not use bench seating on all of the planes...sitting on the floor sucks That said, the planes were nice and appeared to be well maintained. Vibe/Fun: The DZ had a LOT of RW jumpers when I was there and they had oraganizers every day....so if you love to do RW (2-10way), this is your place. Personally, I prefer wingsuiting and they have perhaps the biggest wingsuit group of any DZ. Chuck Blue was organizing on one of the days I was there and I had a great time on every flight. Z-Hills is a top tier DZ that seems to put a lot of focus on having organizer's in RW and Wingsuits. I think they should consider getting a Skyvan (I mean..with all of those wingsuiters...they really need a Skyvan...OK...a CASA would be OK too) I do think they were a bit slow to utilize the second otter(at least on my visit) and they could have gotten several more loads up if they were better at recognizing when it makes sense to run multiple aircraft. All in All, my visit yielded some awesome jumps and I can't wait to go back soon! I hear they throw some good parties too!
  3. That is awesome! - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  4. WORD! ..."word"...Did I just say that??? - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  5. Words marked and it is...1.25 years later and we are still all waiting to see a single step in that direction... - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  6. doing only one backloop may be the challenge, post the video If I pull it off...or heck if I just get some good or "exciting" video trying...I'll definitely post it. - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  7. Yes, the FIREBOLT! It is actually fully eliptical but is quite similar to the Pilot. It has ZP top skin and F-111 bottom skin and is WAY easier to pack. It is the only canopy that I have flown (Safire1&2's, Sabre2's, Spectre's, Tri's) that has openings comparable to the Pilot...the Firebolt's is easily as soft...maybe softer. The Firebolt does turn sharper (dives more) and it has a awesome planeout and bottom end flare...the Pilot is a near perfect intermediate canopy in my opinion and I think that the Firebolt has all of the goods of Pilot plus considerably easier packing. The Firebolt is slightly more aggresive, but not considerably. - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  8. So I have this crazy idea to try to do my C-License aerial performance requirements in my Phantom to earn my C-License. It will certainly take a few "training" jumps to see if it is reasonable for me, but what about you more experienced folks....do you think it is feasible to do a: backloop, frontloop, left 360, right 360, right barrel roll and left barrel roll in your wingsuit in 18 seconds??? After nailing the sequence...I need to make sure my cameraman can keep me in frame while doing this. At least trying should be darn good fun! - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  9. Spend alot of time standing behind sheep...do ya? - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  10. For all of those who carry the all important pull-up cord..just in case. Do you wear shoes with shoestrings? They will work to! Not that a pull-up is difficult to carry. But I have heard some people say it is most important to carry a pull-up cord so you can pack whe you land WAY out...but I think most of us wear shoes (I do and I'm from Kentucky!) so I think it is just one less thing to have to carry. - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  11. Thanks All! - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  12. Does anyone know when Jumpshack first released the firebolt canopy? - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  13. I'll be there on Fri, Sat, Sun. - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  14. They do not allow licensed skydivers here. If you are a tandem, you should wonder WHY?
  15. Well hell if there is going to be video... Make sure he's flying a V2 and wearing a Flat Top Pro with all the cool camera toys on top too! - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  16. The Triathlon is a SOLID canopy. I have an old 1998 220 with alot of jumps on it and it is still going strong! If you have an old one, I know you enjoy the gelvenor fabric (makes packing easy). If you do have an old one...get the 5.0 mod done to the brake lines. It turns a good canopy into a great one. The openings are way slower and the flare is 100% better. This canopy is known for its on heading openings, but if you do something silly and get a bunch of line-twist...expect it to fly straight. It is one SOLID canopy. If you fly a wingsuit or just want a now frills...and no worries canopy...buy a Tri!

    Javelin

I bought a relatively new used Javelin as my first rig and I love it. The quality of construction, design and comfort are all great. I have tried to contact SunPath a couple of times (regarding rigging wingsuit mods {longer bridle, cut corners, etc})and had no luck with getting a response. That is just unreal! I did get the mods done by my rigger and they are great...but I have lost faith in a company that can not respond to customer questions. Given the Javelin's premium price and utter lack of customer service...I can not possibly see buying a new one.
  18. You can't take the risk to fill out your profile? - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  19. Please do not use all caps. MODERATORS: Please consider blocking this user. He is clearly not a skydiver (read his other post) and has a vendetta against SDTahoe and skydiving in his beloved airspace. - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  20. So how's the suit working out for you? What kind of fall rates are you getting in it? - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  21. The Tri is a rock solid WS Canopy. I assume you have the original break set-up on your old 94 Tri. I have a 98 that used to open hardish on occasion (and had weak flare) but I had the 5.0 mod done to the break lines...and it now opens super soft and flares wayyyy better. Consider it if you still have your old tri. - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  22. Do other/most manufacturers use this material for the small ring? No. Jeff So do you think this is the weak point for VSE risers? - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
  23. AFAIK the manufature of that material has some environmental impact which would not make it feasible to produce anymore. Do you like to have something else? Batemax? 8 bad tapes? "AFAIK".... Very Convincing! Got any hard evidence of this. OK, nevermind...I'm not trying to argue with you and we've dragged this thread off topic for long enough. Now back to your regularly scheduled program (Pilot VS Sabre2). Of course....I would still like to hear Aerodyne's thoughts on Gelvenor! Screw the IPod! The 8 Track Tapes Rock!
  24. My next move is to direct your eye's toward the first sentence of my post: "One word of advice....PLEASE...make a deal with Gelvenor to get their old style ZP back on your canopies!" It might be out of production at the current time. However, it was made before, and it can be made again. It's called capitalism, sir. If there is a market for it, which I believe there is...then they will make it again. - - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
