  1. the moderator was right, i do fly, not fall, my apologies for writing the original post in caps, not intended. however, the moderator mentioned taking it up with the operator. they refuse to cooperate. maybe wester pacific regional offices can lend some opinions as to the dilema. continued aviation activity is good for all, even if i don't happen to like the sport i don't think they should quit. i absolutely detest golf but there are certain rules and regulations that have to be adhered to in order for everyone to enjoy the experience. the same should apply to something that someone doesn't like but with the right attitude someone's opinion could be changed. will never post to this site again.
  2. Edit by slotperfect (forum Moderator) If you recognize unsafe practices, please raise the issue with the appropriate organization that can do something about it. DZ politics are frowned upon here in the dropzone.com forums and we discourage dragging it into these forums. Here is the site owners view on DZ politics in the forums: This is a forum primarily for skydivers, those associated with skydiving, and those who are interested in the sport. It is obvious by reading your other posts that you don't jump - you fly. It is also apparent that your attitude toward skydiving is not a positive one. You also have left your profile completely blank, so we don't know who you are, where you are, or what you do so we know you are a real person (and not a troll) and can better understand your frame of reference. If you continue to post here, I have some suggestions for you: -Refrain from posting DZ politics -Fill out your profile -Don't use all caps - it's the internet forum equivalent of shouting
  3. can't take the risk. no mas thanks though
  4. so, who's liability insurance will cover the idiot that doesn't make the call that there are jumpers away? Who keeps the kids out of foster care because someone couldn't be "bothered" to make the call? I don'lt like golf but i don't tell golfers they can't play a stupid game. I don't like skydiving either but everyone has the right to kill themselves prematurely but they DO NOT have the right to take me out with them.
  5. Mr. Buchanan, Your verbiage leads me to believe you are an intelligent person. What would you say if the jumps that I'm inquiring about were conducted in non-towered airspace, with no radio communication about when, how many jumers away, and in Class E airspace with commercial operators conducting business (and has to complete evasive action to avoids said jumpers) and a somewhat busy airspace. A local NOTAM was issued per FAR 105, however, when asked to notify the airport affected staff weretold it wasn't required but would be a bother to the company to do so.
  6. Thanks for the quick response. Is that required by your insurance or the FAR? or would you say you have to go over and above the basic requirements to keep your customer/student safe to keep them from being in the fatality statistics section of the site?
  7. Probably a stupid question but is the pilot in command supposed to announce "jumpers away" or something to that effect when someone jumps out of his aircraft? And if not, why? Wouldn't anyone want to have an added level of safety in a congested area?
