  1. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And, to what purpose? To open your understanding, or to poke someone with a stick, because you already consider them a fool? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, you are assuming that all Christians have been nabbed by the church, as children, and brainwashed, into their belief, and they need a saviour, from the silliness of tall tales, and you have been divinely appointed, as the messenger? If you were serious about your research, you'd find that many of those brainwashed children, already heard your message, and spent years, wandering in a wilderness of decadence and pleasure,[ I believe the followers of that philosophy call it Hedonism.] only to turn back to the Church, in later years, for an inner peace, which they could not find, in the world. So, what does it matter, whether a person believes the earth to be 6,000 or 6 billion years old.... You can't prove either one, and you would be a fool to insist that you were correct.
  2. Get you a bottle of wine, Willie Nelson's, Healing Hands of Time, and a hot bath. Put the song on repeat, and get drunk.
  3. I took a full one day version of the police course, in Jacksonville, presented by police instructors. You only think you can ride, until you take that course. What an eye opener. At the end of the day, you are tired and sore, and you have a much better understanding of the physics involved, in keeping a motorcycle upright. I would recommend it to anyone, wanting to improve their skills.
  4. It is legal, and at the real speed, the only danger i would really be worried about, would be someone changing lanes, from in front of a large vehichle, which I could not see. As for two lanes putting the pinch on you, intentionally, I'd say, most drivers are too busy driving, to be looking behind them 200ft, and most motorcycles are equipped with excellent brakes.

  6. You mean, free home, free car, free gas? Yeah, a whole lot of dumbasses bought that, or maybe just thought he'd do 'em a solid, because he's black, too.
  7. In other words, you were the only one, freaking out.
  8. Maybe, along with that square dancing, they should teach French.

    Silent Movies

I guess you have a point, but how many of us, would voluntarily sit and listen to a two hour musical score, no matter how well presented. In the movies which I have watched, I never heard a repeat of the music. Today's movies, seem to have a theme song, and it underlies the whole movie.
  10. That's why I suggested a helmet, boots and gloves. Do you think I really cared about her saftey?

    Silent Movies

I just purchased a set of 20, Alfred Hitchcock movies, at Walmart, and there are several, two hour long, silient movies, on the set. What a discovery. The actors had to actually act, to get the story across. They actually quote lines, and if you were a lip reader, you could follow along. Subtitles are generally, only used at the change of scene. One thing's for sure. You can't watch the movie and be participating in some other activity.
  12. Do you have access to a large, abandonned, paved area, like and old industrial complex, or airfield? If so, either rent, borrow or buy a small, used bike off of Craigslist. Recall your instructions, during the basic riding course, and just go there and practice, without the pressure of traffic. When you get the basic clutch, throttle and brake function down, take some markers, like crushed soda cans, and set up an obstacle course, continually making it more difficult, as you get comfortable, with it. And wear a helmet, boots and gloves, Please.
  13. Nothing wrong with a president that is at least honest. I said it too in several posts - Stand Aside, we have some changes to make. That's fine, but at least, be honest and forthright, in your procedures. Adding an amendment, to a bill, at 3am, the morning before the vote, is dishonesty. The truth is, they should still be arguing the 1,000 page stimulus, if they were truly honest legislators.
  14. Rstanley0312 - Like most Christians, you seem to want to choose which portions of the Bible to take literally and which ones to interpret in other ways. That's fine with me, especially since you basically seem to be agreeing with me that the Tower of Babel story can't be literally true. Why don't you make a placard on a stick, and go stand on the corner, next to the fundamentalist, and berate him, all day... Then, you can come home, in the evening, in a self congratulatory way, and tell everyone how you really staightened him out, about his silly thinking.... Isn't that, exactly, what you are trying to achieve, here?
  15. How small minded, of you! Why do you hate Germans and Japanese?
  16. If we could send all of those hard working illegals home, we could pick chilis for $25 for a four gallon bucket.
  17. So, what's the real story? A little too much party, at the dropzone?
  18. I am in agreement, here... It should be insurance reform, instead of healthcare reform, but, once again, the whole system is controlled by lawyers, who just love the fine print. So, we're back to square one. Deal with the rats, first. Of course, Obama, being a lawyer, would rather impugn someone of another profession, than to call a spade a spade.
  19. I guess you've never learned the lesson about staying away from side street, used car lots.
  20. The problem is, that the government, for some reason, just doesn't seem to be able to keep their hands off of dedicated money. If Social Security were truly in a lock box, and used as a retirement fund, for those who actually contributed, it would be in fine shape... Same with Medicaid and Medicare. I believe that a large part of the money i send in, each year, is supposed to be marked, specifically, for that. Do you really think that it's set aside, for that purpose? Greedy politicians, who are mostly lawyers, BTW, see an opportunity for vote buying, and dip into the funds, for every whimsical program, that comes down the line. We already see rationing, and heavy rules and regulations, and jumping through a thousand hoops, just to get something done, in these systems, unless, of course, it looks like a vote may be coming your way. What makes you think, that suddenly, a large influx of tax money, is going to be used to put the medical community right? Maybe we should start with a punitive, loser pays, in the legal system, across the board. Not just in medical cases. After all, the same insurance companies who sell medical insurance, also sell any number of other types. This would eliminate a huge cost, because, too many times, someone settles, just to avoid escalating lawyer fees for a defense. If the person, bringing the law suit, thought that there was a good chance that they would lose, if the case ran its course, and were responsible for the fees of the defending party, much of the cost of insurance would simply disappear. How about it...... Let's plug the ratholes, before we decide to tear down the building, and start over.
  21. 5799 cases out of 30 million people - wow! that is some measure of the failure of a system...... almost 2/100ths of a percent...... And you really think that Obamacare is going to be kind and generous, to the obese, 60yr. old, with the ruined knee joints?
  22. I can grow food, in my garden, year round, summer, actually being the worst season. July17th, and it only got to about 92 degrees, here, in North Florida.
  23. Here's what should have been done. We already have a government run system, known as the VA. Let this be the politicians little playtoy, to see if they can actually do something right. The system is already flowing,to some degree, so it wouldn't require the major change over, that private healthcare would require. Now, turn it into a topnotch healthcare operation, without graft or waste, and then, when they have proven that they can make the system work, the private healthcare system could be operated in the same manner.
  24. Yeah, I see he comes from the state with the, supposedly, fifth largest economy, in the world, which, somehow, just can't keep itself out of the hole. Could it be all of those brilliant, egalitarian, progressive principles, which they are also trying to foist upon the rest of us, out here, in flyover country?
