  1. Eh, its something to do on a Monday when everyone else is at work. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  2. I started Skydiving at Raeford in 1994, had a sydiving accident in 1996 and didn't jump again until Apr 2006. Maybe four years of Skydiving, for ten years I had nothing to do with it. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  3. I got in a few jumps there this afternoon. Man, that place has changed a LOT since the last time I jumped there (1995).
  4. Exactly right. What Freeflir29 said is also right. Unfortunately the average Joe is not that disciplined (cops included) and there are always more AD's with Glocks because there is no double action for the first round. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  5. Having "been there done that" when I was in the 82nd Airborne Division. I can tell you those jumps are made at night with an exit altitude of 800 feet in training (500 feet in combat) usually from six jet transport aircraft with paratroopers loaded to the MAX with combat equipment. Can you imagine this many guys jumping that close to the ground and each other with the ability to steer? Even with T-10s there are frequent entanglements. http://news.soc.mil/imagery/75th/__030803-A-8960E-005.jpg Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  6. I have been issued and carried several different handguns over the past 11 years and I have to say I like the Glocks the best. I am currently issued a Glock 21 and I carry a Glock 26 for off duty and UC work. I have also carried the Glock 19 in the past which is a great weapon also. I cannot ever remember a malfunction that wasn't caused by reload ammo. There is NO problem with the safety mechanism, if you are properly trained (keep your finger off the trigger) the gun won't fire. I have fired the "C" models but I don't really think they are necessary in my opinion. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  7. The same thing happened to me at Deland a few weeks ago, I was all geared up and waiting for the plane and got bumped. It happens no big deal, its happened to me before at different places. What I thought was a big deal was that they put me on the next load and paid for my jump. They sure didn't have to do that but I appreciated it and won't forget it.
  8. I have jumped at all of those DZs and they are all a 90 minute drive or closer. I usually go to Titusville if I jump on a weekend (which is very rare). Friendly people fast plane, cheap altitude, nice landing area and packing area. I usually jump on Mondays or weekdays at Deland great fleet of aircraft, the best coaches, fly the most weekday loads but not many people will jump with you (probably different on weekends). Good place to make solo jumps. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  9. Not today but trying to decide on Deland or Titusville for tomorrow. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  10. Great post. To all our Military personnel deployed this Thanksgiving and Christmas thanks for your service. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

  13. I spent three of my seven years in the 82nd Airborne Division. I have also jumped military HALO rigs. One thing to keep in mind is that HALO canopies are not like sport canopies. They are huge slow moving things designed to jump combat equipment. You probably won't be jumping sport canopies on duty unless you are lucky enough to be on the Knights or some demo team. Airborne jumps with T-10C or even MC1-1Bs are nothing like skydiving. Most Airborne jumps you exit the aircraft at 800 feet at night with a lot of heavy equipment and weapons tied to your body. You are also jumping with about 800 other people in the air with you. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  14. That is piss poor. Jumping on a grenade to save others should be an automatic CMH. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

    Compass Help

I teach land nav in SWAT school and have extensive military training in land nav. Every class a few guys show up with cheap "Walmart" type compasses and they suck. Do your self a favor and get a military lensatic compass or a Silva compass, either one will get the job done. There is a lot of good info in FM21-26 if you really want to get into map reading in addition to using a compass. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  16. I was out of skydiving for 10 years. I was involved in a skydiving accident in 1996 and couldn't do much of anything for six months, sold all my gear. Ten years later, I got the urge to jump again, did a couple re currency jumps and dropped five grand on all new gear. As for fear, My first jump was static line in the Military 1991 (honestly not scared at all), first skydive still in the Military on jump status in 1994 (not scared), first jump back after my accidental deployment accident (SCARED SHITLESS). 17. Here is my Vector 3 M-Series, I got it new in August its got a Sabre2 210 @1.2:1 with a PD 193 reserve, Cypress 2 and Skyhook. I have 9 jumps on it and I love it. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6ce08b3127cce8e7ff03e317200000016108AauXDJm5cuE http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6ce08b3127cce8e7ff03bb04700000016108AauXDJm5cuE http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6ce08b3127cce8e7ff013b06f00000016108AauXDJm5cuE http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6ce08b3127cce8e7ff00db07100000016108AauXDJm5cuE [url]http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6ce08b3127cce8e7ff177f09300000015108AauXDJm5cuE[url] Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  18. Neither are really fool proof. I could sit down with a pen and give myself an extra 100 jumps in about 20 min if I wanted. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

  21. Agreed. I hate a lazy cop but they sure are out there. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  22. Knock on wood no hurling. I came very close on many military "vomit comets" flying NOE. I remember several nights running out the door with a static line in one hand and a barf bag in the other, never actually used one though. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
  23. Yeah, and today was one of those days. I packed my rig last night expecting to be at SSC by 9:00 AM and jumping all day. I got up watched the news then went back to bed until noon. I think I will go cut the grass. Its funny, I can afford to make 20-30 jumps a month but only feel like making 3-5. I did get one jump last Monday and I am scheduled for a balloon jump on Friday (still slots available). Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
