  1. How does one "dead spider"? I was taught delta...
  2. xkeys used to do it - no idea whether they still do. Why don't you call them and ask rather than waiting for a reply to a thread?
  3. I'd love some more info about that. Flying helos has always been a dream of mine, and if it was actually feasible to pursue, well then.... To the OP, I say... If it's something you want, and you can get "free" training, it seems like a no brainer to me. Skydive recreationally during your career training....
  4. If this is the same "Epic Conditions" as I'm thinking of, it's a half-hour show on "The Weather Channel": http://press.weather.com/index.php/press_releases/146.html I've seen a few, and they're well done and interesting - but it's certainly not a "movie". :-) Thanks for the notice - looking forward to this one, of course....
  5. As fate would have it, a VP at a my new job owns a balloon.... I (of course) asked him about flying a jumper, and he mentioned that he's already done it before, and would be willing to take me up next year (he's not flying it this year). So, my question to those in the know - is there anything special that I need to do prior to the jump? I assume that there's no "clearances" or anything available, and that this is just going to be a "bandit" jump. But, if there are "procedures" to follow, I'd like to know more about it.... I don't want *him* to get fined due to my lack of knowledge about proper "pre-jump preparation". Thanks for any info...
  6. I have a Sabre 1 190 that I bought used with a "camera man's slider" (what I was told when I bought it). I believe that it's oversized. I only have about 70-80 jumps on it, so take this for what it's worth, but I have never (knock on wood) been slammed. Conversely, a 1000' opening is pretty typical. If Brent Finely reads these forums, he might be able to tell you more about the slider - it was his canopy, originally.
  7. According to www.bridgeday.info: ---- •WV Media will again broadcast three hours of live TV coverage of Bridge Day 2005 to more than 1 million households in West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. They are currently negotiating for national TV coverage to networks such as the Outdoor Life Network (OLN). ---- Does anyone in that area have a ReplayTV with IVS (IE: the 5000 series)? It would be great if someone in that viewing area would willing to tape it and IVS it to me.... (Unless OLN does cover it - then I can tape it myself...) Thanks....
  8. As a flat-flyer, is "transitioning to a sit" documented anywhere? I'm interested in trying, but don't know where to start... Thanks....
