    Chevy 'Volt'

The Volt commercials I hear on the radio claim a 40 mile range before recharging. That's not a whole hell of a long way. Shorter than my daily driving. Unless people start putting plugs in parking lots, not real useful... especially for a road trip. I hope they get better though, I'm ALL for throwing up a bunch more nuke plants and powering all our goodies electrically! Oh, hello again!
  2. No comment on the concert being free and space unlimited then? And I want our president to do what's best for us and our constitutional rights. If the rest of the world went wacky commie on us, I would LOVE that they did not like a leader of ours who stood up to that shit. The US is not like the rest of the world in many great ways and a few bad ones. I don't really want a leader that puts foreign opinions above ours. Oh, hello again!
  3. I've learned that no matter how bad Americans think the euro-music is, that they have huge followings over there. Weird. Funny you mention AC/DC and Queen. I'm wondering..... would they have drawn bigger crowds if their venues not space limited and ummmm.... FREE???? Hmmm? Hey, maybe you're right. Those Germans just love him so much they probably skipped the concert and just showed up before the speech. His popularity in Europe would just be one more reason to NOT vote for him. Oh, hello again!
  4. LOL! http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/fotostrecke-33614-22.html#backToArticle=567821 Oh, hello again!
  5. I think it's more along the lines of "People hadn't left yet after the concerts". I seriously doubt they'd have all been waiting there just to hear some foreign politician speak. Hell, if 2 bands I liked were playing, I'd stick around to see what some hyped up guy from another country had to say. I wonder, did his campaign pass out the flags too? Manufactured. Oh, hello again!
  6. I'm not 100% sure here... but I don't THINK that McCain arranged for his visit to include a free concert with 2 popular German bands and free brats and beer. I feel like Obama is more marketing than substance and everything I read and see points in that direction. Oh, hello again!
  7. My rant about the incidents forum: Often times the people that DO have information are the ones that work for the dropzones and were part of the response to the incident. Given the litigious nature of pretty much everyone... this prevents them from posting anything in a public forum until all is said and done with the legal bs. That could take years. Inevtiably, some over-eager dz.commie will demand to know why everyone from the DZ is being quiet and claim some sort of cover up. That is the furthest thing from the truth in the cases I've seen. It's just too bad that sharing information that others may learn from can get us individually named in a lawsuit. Just keep that in mind. Oh, hello again!
  8. It doesn't. It just doesn't seem to be true at all. Percentages can be played with. Maybe the "study" is technically true, but more positive articles for Obama appeared as top stories. Who knows. I know what I see every day, and it's clearly more, and more favorable coverage for Obama. No, but the raw amount of coverage IS. Who can argue that it's normal to have as much coverage as Obama had on his euro-mideast campaign trip, for example? And you used Bush as a comparison, but he isn't running. The comparison, in light of the OP, must be made to McCain. Oh, hello again!
  9. What makes that study hard or impossible to accept is that watching tv, reading the newspapers, browsing online... you get a totally opposite picture. That's been my experience, and apparently it's similar to many many others' experiences. Arguing that Obama isn't the media's golden boy is really really reaching... Oh, hello again!
  10. Some good comments here... If you decide that you should carry or own a pistol, I think the following is REALLY helpful. - Find a range that will let you rent guns. - Take a defensive pistol course with a reputable instructor. They should be able to help you try out pistols as well. - Buy a gun you like and that is reliable. - Take the CHL course and get the license. You're not REQUIRED to carry once you have the license. You have the OPTION to. After shooting, all the classes, etc... you'll have time to think about whether or not you'll actually use the gun to defend yourself. Even if you decide not to, you'll have some training, fun shooting, and options should you change your mind. Oh, hello again!
  11. ba dum dum pshhhh! Oh, hello again!
  12. Like I've been saying... it's easier to use socialism with 9 million people paying over 50% taxes. I'm not arguing that it is neither a nice place, clean, healthy or wealthy. I do not think that their form of socialism would work in the US or any other large country. It hasn't yet. Yeah, we've got bums. We also have 33 times the population, more illegal immigrants than the entire population of Sweden, and more diversity. We've also got tons of opportunity here for people who work hard... that's why so many people are moving here. PS- Ericsson is Swedish... Oh, hello again!
  13. Ahhhh... I think my version will make more sense to the masses, however. Not everyone knows Lovecraft. Oh, hello again!
  14. No, instead they export hydro power, iron ore, and wood. I hear they make cell phones too. They also have a population smaller than New York City. Like I said... not too hard to use socialism when you only have a small population. No, they don't have huge populations, and until recently... scandinavian countries were largely homogenous in their ethnic makeup. That's changing and problems are developing. Just wait. I'd still rather take home more than 40% of my income, like they do in Sweden. Oh, hello again!
  15. Socialism isn't that hard to do when your entire country is smaller than my city. Trying to expand that to huge countries hasn't worked. Ever. Even my Norwegian friends agreed, right after they admitted that their immense wealth only occured after discovering all that black gold off their coast. Norway was NOT always a rich country and selling the devil-juice has made it so. Now what? Oh, hello again!
  16. I just whipped that up in Photoshop... print away! I thought I'd seen it somewhere before but I couldn't find it anywhere so there it is! I refuse to sticker my car, but if I did... that'd be the one. Or a Reagan/Bush '84 one....
  17. Naaaah... you're making it up! Everyone just KNOWS that Bush is a bloodthirsty warlord who just couldn't wait to have thousands of his own troops killed to return a favor to his oil buddies. Riiiight. Seriously, Law... you just can't win. I think it's a chemical imbalance. Oh, hello again!
  18. Couldn't find the original, so I just thought I'd share the one I made up. I thought it was a funny campaign bumper sticker.... Oh, hello again!
  19. Seems like its getting more common. That video is one of 3 VIGIL misfires that I've heard about from Brazil. My friend there has mentioned that they're considering a ban on them as well. Interesting. What is his wing loading? What kind of speeds is he getting in the swoop. We have lots of instructors that have Cypres2's and swoop on almost every landing, including myself, even a fun jumper who is pushing the wing loading that I would be uncomfortable swooping with an AAD not made for swooping, and have had no fires on swoops. I put up the video because I saw this post and was sent the video at the same time. I guess watching a Vigil2 fire on a pretty weak swoop will still somehow equal "Vigil rulz, Cypres droolz" stuff though. At my dz, we're slow to adopt new technologies... and in the AAD market, I'm thankful for this. Oh, hello again!
  20. Yes, I'd like more too... but that's all I've seen. Was forwarded to me by a friend with connections to the Brazilian jumping scene. Oh, hello again!
  21. oops... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDUPAkuWP4Y Vigil fires during a not particularly fast looking swoop. Oh, hello again!
  22. He should use his "Rainbow Push" mafia... err, I mean coalition, to blackmail... err, I mean boycott himself. Oh, hello again!
  23. Obviously obvious sarcasm is obvious! I also am agains the illegal importation of illegal firearms by illegal immigrants who plan on doing something illegal. Someone should make a law! That'd fix it! Oh, hello again!
  24. Now if only there were people intellectually honest enough to DO something about the world's most prolific small arms distributors.... RUSSIA and CHINA. Nah, screw it... easier and more popular to just blame the law-abiding, second amendment exercising Americans. We should stop the illegal importation of illegal firearms. Definitely. They should make another law to show just how "serial" we really are about it! Oh, hello again!
  25. They sure did in this case! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkS8mdbml0A Or is it better that she die to have your insecurities about yourself or others exercising their second amendment rights protected? Oh, hello again!
