  1. Wonderful. Such POWERFUL legislation that the markets immediately...er.... declined? Thanks guys! Use lube next time though please! Oh, hello again!
  2. You're right. But going the way it has been is NOT the way. It needs to be figgerd out. I think it'd go quite a long way towards fixing things. At the very least, it'd be more honest. Oh, hello again!
  3. I think a group of reasonable people could come up with a way to keep "unrelated" out of bills. The problem is... finding a group of reasonable people in office. For instance, what did Ike or mental health have to do with the "bailout" garbage that is in the house now? I think this is one central reason we can't keep our representatives honest. They never have to REALLY choose. There's always the "well, I voted for the part that fed starving children... not the war part" excuse. That needs to be cut out. Oh, hello again!
  4. I'd say that ANY unrelated provisions should be disallowed. It'd force people to actually take a position on each vote instead of, for example, our Texas senators agreeing to pass the bailout only after Ike Funding was put in there. Stupid. At least then, politicians would have to own up to what they REALLY voted for and against. Oh, hello again!
  5. Line item veto or legislation to prevent unrelated crap being added to bills needs to happen. Oh, hello again!
  6. And it shows how the dems failed to pass the same bill that they supposedly supported too. Or do you not understand what "bi-partisan" means? So you're saying that the Dems shouldn't do what they supposedly think is right unless they get equal votes from Reps so that they can share blame when it blows up in their faces? If they thought it was such a good idea, which most of the Dems apparently do judging by their votes... you'd think they'd just try to get it passed and take all the credit. Hmmm.... What you fail to understand, again, is that some of us think for ourselves here and don't care where POS legislation comes from. Seeing who supports POS legislation is telling, however. It does not bode well for the country today. But hey, I guess we can all stop paying mortgages now!! Yay! Oh, hello again!
  7. Have you lost your mind? Go one-line someone else, your BS doesn't work with me. Sorry you can't contribute anything other than weak little jabs. Oh, hello again!
  8. That looks nothing like taking credit for getting it passed. It looks like he's chiding Obama because he's TRYING to get something done. I don't see where there's credit being taken. Is that all the quote is? Kinda weak. Oh, hello again!

    Murtha sued

Huh? Your opinion of what Murtha DID is dependent on wether or not the civil suit against him is successful? Do you doubt that he shit all over the troops before any investigation had been completed? I'd think that you'd consider the charges against the troops being dropped would be more significant. Oh, hello again!
  10. I'd like to see a quote for that. I think that it didn't pass is a good thing... so I win anyway. That Pelosi was TRYING to get it passed and was going to save us all (a la her speech), and DIDN'T... means, yeah, she failed. I'm glad she did too. Glad that the republican's "failed" to deliver 66% of their people too. But for Dems to blame anyone but themselves when they had the numbers to pass this bill alone is lunacy. Seems like they'd want to take all the credit for saving us poor souls... or maybe they really don't think it's a good idea and it's all BS anyway and they don't want to take the BLAME when it blows up in their faces. One more time... I don't care who supports it. I don't. Oh, hello again!
  11. Unlike you, I don't get my talking points from a party's leadership. Sorry. I know it makes it easier for you if you can try to box people in a bit. So sorry. I know this bill is garbage. We've got Boxer trying to put mental health funding in it now too? Insanity! The bailout is a mistake, the riders they're putting in there are insane, voting for it is WRONG. Don't be mad that more of "you guys" are wrong than republicans. So, yes, as far as the bill goes... I think I do know better than those voting for it. Worry more about your hypocrisy than my caffeine intake. Just admit that if the Dems wanted this, they could have had it on their own. Instead, they blame others. You just can't win this one... sorry. Oh, hello again!
  12. Nooooo! This is IMPOSSIBLE!! Obama gets his money from THE PEOPLE!! I started a thread about fundraising once and the excuse for Obama raising double what McCain did was that the poor, starving people of America love Obama sooo much that they give to him what they can and that equals more money than any candidate ever raised. When I made the point that one person can split hundreds of thousands into individual $199 donations... no one had much to say. Oh, hello again!
  13. Let me make this REALLY simple for you, professor, since you're having a hard time understanding many things here today. I DON'T CARE THAT BOEHNER FAILED TO DELIVER 66% OF REPUBLICAN VOTES!!! He should have delivered 0%!! He's wrong on the bill, so's Bush, so's Pelosi, so's Obama, so's McCain... awww hell, anyone who wants this package is wrong. I DO think it is funny that your head boss lady was going to save America by getting this bill passed... and couldn't even get it passed with her own party people. Her numbers alone could have passed it. She failed. She got on her high horse, grandstanding, and it got put in her face. Just face it, it is LAUGHABLE that the people that were supposed to be for the bill, can't even get it passed. As I said before, conservatives should be against it from the start anyway so good job to the 66%ers!! Fail. Oh, hello again!

    Murtha sued

Just continue to defend the indefensible... it does wonders for your credibility!! Pure entertainment. Oh, hello again!

    Murtha sued

Murtha SHOULD be sued over what he said. He really hurt those guys and our troops in general. I'm GLAD he's being sued and I HOPE they win. How's that? I hope you'll remember your bullshit attempts to make me compare myself to Murtha's past when you try to rip McCain apart. And just because someone did great things in the past, doesn't mean they can't become a shithead today. Why are you so eager to excuse what he did? You're losing every battle here lately. Just give up. Oh, hello again!

    Murtha sued

Unfortunately someone's past doesn't always carry over into the present. If a war hero killed a child, he'd be a POS and it'd be sad that someone who WAS a hero did such things. It is sad that someone who served honorably turned around later in life to defame soldiers currently serving. Someone wrongfully accusing people of mass murders is a POS. Murtha wrongly accused people of mass murder. Do you disagree? Even more amazing is that people on the left accuse McCain of being too old to have his wits about him, but readily believe the rantings of someone 4 years older, like Murtha? Your double standard is ridiculous and obvious. Oh, hello again!
  17. I'm starting to worry about you. Really. Pelosi could have passed the bill on her own with her people that she couldn't deliver. These are people who are all for government "taking care" of people, economy, etc. The 66% of republicans that voted against, stood up for what is right (and in line with conservative thought). The fact that some republicans are FOR the bill doesn't make it right. Pelosi is a failure. She could have done it all from within the dem party and couldn't do it. Can you not see that? Oh well, carry on pointing the other way... even when it's irrelevant. Oh, hello again!

    Dear Hank...

A friend of mine wrote this and sent it to Henry Paulson last week. I thought it was hilarious and deserved sharing... edit to add: And he's a die hard conservative. Oh, hello again!
  19. The OP asked YOU (in general) if you were happy with Pelosi and the ineffective hacks on THAT side... so why are you talking about something off-topic? Seriously, just admit it. It's okay... your guys are hacks. Ineffective, blame deferring hacks. They can't get anything done even within their own party so they cry and blame the party that SHOULDN'T be voting for it in the first place. Oh, hello again!
  20. Lol... excuses excuses... the fact remains... your dems coulda passed it on their own. I'm glad at least 2/3 of the reps have some sense... no matter where the bill came from. Bitch about the dems for once, come on... you can do it... or can you? Oh, hello again!
  21. I'll have to take the same tactic explaining things to you that I did with a girlfriend once.... Just because I say something about one side, does NOT mean I think the other side is perfect. Get it? 1/3 of the republicans that voted FOR the bill, fucked up. It SHOULD NOT be passed. I guess you're hearing the same 1/3 complaining? It is still completely idiotic for the dems to blame the reps when they could have passed this on their own. But you can keep overlooking that. I understand. Oh, hello again!
  22. So funny to watch you libs blame Republicans when the Dems could have passed the bill on their own. That alone is proof that it is a mental disorder. Who are you guys trying to kid here? Really? Just admit Pelosi is insane and a crappy speaker and leave it at that. As I said in another thread, it should NOT pass anyway. Oh, hello again!
  23. Thank you for that post! I can't explain it any better. I'm glad it didn't pass. I think it's funny how the Dems blame the republicans when they couldn't muster enough of their own members to pass the thing. Let 'em fail. The good assets will be bought. The bad ones will be bought at huge discounts. People will actually have to work, make down payments, and prove that they're trustworthy to get loans... just like it always should have been. Oh, hello again!
  24. I don't think the debate being held on a specific day is as important as the financial BS going on. I'd like everyone there for those discussions. Did they agree on the debates after the fail of AIG, Lehman et al? What's the big deal about postponing? Do you people honestly think that McCain expected to never have to debate Obama and just realized it before THIS debate? Silliness. Because he was too "chicken" to debate months ago at the town hall meetings. Instead, he just avoided it entirely. And how is Obama's multi-tasking? Can he be in 2 places at once? Awesome. Oh, hello again!
