  1. So, given our "7 samples" we can say with what level of certainty that the entire site is inaccurate?*** Make that 8 samples. My house was off by a couple hundred, not to mention 1 bedroom and one bathroom.
  2. Once again, you are wrong. Zack Morris was the jumper of the group, but he was as much a skydiver as Tom Cruise.
  3. A lot of us know him. Why don't you just ask what you want to know?
  4. Correct. What is a balloon? Building, antenna, span, or earth? If it isn't one of those four things, technically it isn't BASE jumping.
  5. Nicky. He is in the band (drummer, IIRC)
  6. Back to the roots. Who is doing S-turns on final? Swoopers have their accuracy without this basic trick. So we can suspect off-students or intermediates. Experienced fly under high WL. So where is the problem, why you 1000+ guys are complaining? You can almost fly around someone with low WL. Know you jump buddies so you'll know what can you expect from them. Not all experienced people fly a high WL. Even if they did, when you are at a DZ with multiple planes doing multiple passes, s-turns get really scary/dangerous. If you jump at a single, small plane DZ and are in the habit of s-turns for accuracy, how will you break the habit when in traffic at a boogie?
  7. that should probably be reworded also. A little strong for you? The problem is, if this is not a regulation, many people will disregard the chart and do their own thing. The trouble with that approach is, many people don't know what's good for them. The only reason I survived the learning process was because they simply didn't build parachutes small enough to kill you back then... at least for the resonable, the unresaonable will find a way to eat it no matter what they are flying... \ How about "Must not downsize beyond this chart"?
  8. Define skydiver. Minimum number of jmps or time in sport? I think with a 500 jump minimum the percentage would be 10-20%
  9. Early Sabres were placarded 1.1:1 max (ie 132 lbs max on the 120) and Stillettos were placarded with 1.3:1. Many people safley went outside this MSW.
  10. Tip 1 Do not leave your equipment at the dropzone. This advice is aimed more towards instructors and vidiots. However, it is important to note if you plan to have your reserve re-packed by their rigger. Tip 2 Don’t expect honesty from a DZO that’s going out of business. He will not tell you the truth simply because it’s none of your business. If rumors are floating around, gear could get stolen and instructors might not want to teach out of fear of not getting paid. Tip 3 Take note of the condition of their aircraft. Maintenance is usually the first thing to be neglected when a DZO is trying to appease debt collectors. Tip 4 Make sure to get the phone numbers of all your jump buddies. You will want to get in touch with them once the DZ folds so you can arrange to meet up and jump somewhere new. UntamedDOG I'd add don't leave money on account or have extra jump tickets that you bought. The shut down could come suddenly, and you will lose any unused funds.
  11. Very true. However, I know a few other people who had problems with this company. Also, I know of at least two gear stores who don't like to order from Flite suit due to past problems. I would expect you to defend Flite Suit, since you work for them.
  12. I will never order another suit from that company after the nightmare I had with them. I suggest getting a suit from firefly.
  13. That is the pot calling the kettle black. The general consensus at the DZs I jump at is the wings is cheaply made, and quasars are so rare I don't hear anyone voicing an opinion.
  14. Just because it is the cheapest doesn't make it a good deal. To be fair, I've not had any dealings with the "new" Triathon, but have had many problems with the "old" ones opening had, and not landing as nice as a Spectre.
  15. Nice advertisement. Even for you, the rules apply. Send a check to Sangiro.
  16. Fill this out for a coupon for a free pint
  17. Don't do this. People have died leaving their breaks set too long, and it really won't help you get back vs. other techniques.
  18. ...when your screen name is lisamariewillbe lol
  19. What is so special about this suit that cost $564? Maybe he can't find any unobtanium needed to make the zipper
  20. That is just wrong, I never see two pilots in a TWIN Otter, and I am in them a lot.
  21. what, we can't have an opinion on this kind of thing? ... so, If you go to a restraunt, you can't write a review A better analogy might be with a review of restaurant food if you were starving and had never had anything to eat. Of course the DZ will be nice to you as a student; look at how much money you are bringing to the DZ. Also, as a student, you have no basis of comparison to say if a training program/ student gear is safe or good.
