  1. I think there is someone that advertises in Parachutist that makes prescription googles. I know of a few people that just brought in goggles to a Eye dr and and them fitted with a prescription lense. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  2. What you fail to see is not everyone thinks something needs to be done. Diablopilot you appear to be one of those people, yet you keep posting to this thread. For someone who doesn't care, you spend alot time posting on threads you don't care about to let us know you don't care about it. 3. funny ha ha. I thought freeflying was "invented for those who couldn't get stable on their belly. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  4. You might have better luck if you go to each forum and maybe do a search or someone in there should be able to give you information.
  5. Well, Justin, it must be all your fault. How come whenever there is a customer service issue some how you are involved? Congrats on the new job. Hope everything is going good for you at PD. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  6. Just for that Brent, you can't ride in my Italian car, borrow Chris's silk suits, stay at one of our many vacation homes, or on the yacht! j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  7. I could certainly be blatently wrong, but I was under the impression that the UK required their B license for wearing a full face. I can see requiring a hard shell helmet but I was unaware that any skydiving regulatory body (CPA, USPA, BPS) required a full face or denyed a full face helmet to a certain licensed skydiver. 8. really? who? Just curious. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  9. We had a group show up to to tandems and we watched a guy pull up drinking a beer driving his very pregnant wife. We sent someone out to see make sure it was beer. We asked the guy is that beer, he said yes, we asked if he was scheduled to make a jump, he said yes, we said you will need to reschedule for a time when you havent' been drinking. No drinking and jumping. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  10. Actually Ron, this this person asked about AFF not just coaching jumps. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  11. I've been an instructor for about 4 years and have done it twice. Most of my non-jumping friends won't even do a tandem so I don't even bother approaching them about AFF and my sisters went through AFF before I had my rating. If they approached you then I don't see a problem with it. I have answered the phone at the DZ and have been giving every story under the sun on why they shouldn't have to pay or at least not full price, but those people are total strangers to me. Even had one person who wanted to do a tandem and said it was a friends dieing wish that the do a tandem skydive. Good luck with your AFF, with all the money you save start buying the gear you will need when you graduate (altimeter, goggles, helmet, rig, parachutes, jumpsuits, etc..) 12. Probably an April Fools joke. What's suppse to be the joke that he died or didn't die? Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  13. I've done it, but it costs more than just slots. You have gear rental if the instructor doesn't have their own gear and the dz needs to make some money to keep the lights on and so forth The only thing I can "waive" is what I get paid. I (the instructor) approached the person with the proposition, not the other way around. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

  16. Well, yes because according to the "law" its his decision. As far as the "religious" people imposing their "values", it happens every day at least here in the US. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  17. cnn is still trying to confirm. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  18. I know I am - thank you for seeing that Bill.
  19. I guess none of you get why I'm mad. This is last time I will try to explain - I don't expect anyone to agree with me or side with me, Its just the way I feel. 1. He didn't follow her wishes promptly. Brain dead is brain dead. 2. He strung along her family for too long giving them false hope. 3. Her family was not allowed in the room until after she died. 4. MY impression of him - insincere. He and especially his attorney give me the creeps. I don't think anyone being starved to death is looking the best they have in their life. My family is important to me. It appears to me that Terri was important to her family and they were desperate enough to call in the troops (media). I can't blame them for loving their daughter. 20. I thought you gave up on this sometime yesterday? Why do you keep commenting on it? Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  21. Actually no, I think to keep her alive for 7+ years was a cruel as he could be, it should have been taken care of a long time ago. By HIM prolonging it he gave her family false hope. I don't know of any case (but if there is one, I'm sure you do), where a person goes in brain dead and comes out not brain dead. I'm mad he didn't let her family in. I believe he strung them along too long. J Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  22. But he said it was her wish not to live like that so why take 7 years to follow her wishes? Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  23. No, I have more compassion for the parents than the husband. I don't like him. He doesn't seem sincere, blah blah blah, read my earlier posts. I don't like his attorney, he gives me the creeps, blah blah blah. I guess according to your wedding vows you can go screw around all you want or your spouse can and its gonna be okay because it wasn't covered in your wedding vows. Although adultery is illegal in some state, charges are ususally not pursued. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  24. So he was widowed 15 years ago so he had no wife as of 15 years ago. Why would he fight for a dead woman to die? I thought she lived for like 15 years after her heart attack which was why we are having this debate. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  25. I am not in this situation, nor will it be a problem because of living wills we have. I think the guy is a scum bag, that is my personal opinion and I have a great deal of sympathy for the parents and sibling of Terri. I don't know why it took 7 years to figure out she wasn't getting better. My personal experiences have helped form my opinion of the situation. I love my mom and if something ever happened to me I want her there. Hell, I call her even now when I get sick because she will always make me feel better.
