  1. Of our natural European mojo. "natural mojo" - is that something you get when you don't use deoterant? (I'm sorry for the stupid stereotypical sarcastic remark - I just couldn't help myself) Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  2. So why jump the main and not just the reserve? I don't get in cars with people I don't trust, and I certainly wouldn't jump a main canopy that I don't trust. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  3. That never happens!! Its the Bonfire Dave - Everyone is suppose to have a sense of humor! If not they can go to SC. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  4. What if we could grow wings and fly, would you still jump with an AAD? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  5. There are not guarantees in life. Doesn't sound like you are too familiar with the USPA Group Membership either. It doesn't mean jack shit. ***It should be required to report accidents. *** Okay, then we need to require all car accidents to be reported to everyone that drives or thinks about driving. What is your motive here? You have not profile, you don't skydive, what's the deal? Why should we tell you anything. 6. I don't think you are off base on your thinking at all. When made my first jump (AFF L1) I was terrified. I did it because I felt I hadn't done anything exciting with my life. I really didn't like my first jump but a girl I went with LOVED it so I figured I missed something, went back and did Level II and was hooked. Now, we have had a few students come through with the intent of completing 7 levels of AFF in 1 weekend. One guy went through the ground school Friday night, got up Saturday morning and did a "working" tandem, landed and I asked him what he thought and his response was "I can't believe you people do this." He got in his car, never to be seen again. We have also had many go through the ground school never to come back to make the first jump. 7. All that does is prove to them that people were listening. Jim Rome got LOTS of feedback for bashing Roger Nelson's death. The best way to discourage such comments is to ignore them. Blues, Dave I can't wait to meet that f-er. I don't think I've ever actually hated someone as much as Jim Rome. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  8. There's ALWAYS someone who receives the wrong message. Kallend - if you don't get it, Jumper03 explained it perfectly in another thread. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  9. I didn't read my whole post either - just cut and paste. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  10. Didn't you ever see the Batman movie with the Penguin? The Penguins were equipped with rockets and bombs and stuff. Real scary shit. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  11. Tennessee has something very similar and has for a few years. Its graduated. Tennessee's laws are as follows: Anyone under the age of 18 who has a learner permit will be prohibited from driving between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. When driving, permit holders must have a licensed driver age 21 or older in the vehicle with them. Seatbelt use is mandatory for everyone in the vehicle under the age of 18 (passengers age 3 and under must be in an approved child restraint device). Under the GDL law, anyone under the age of 18 must have their Tennessee learner permit for a minimum of 180 days (approximately six months) before they can apply for an intermediate license. The minimum age for applying for an intermediate license is 16. BOTH of these requirements must be met before a minor can qualify for an Intermediate license. restrictions for an intermediate restricted license? Seatbelt use is mandatory for all vehicle occupants (passengers age 8 and under must be in an approved child restraint device as outlined in Tennessee's New Child Restraint Law). Those with an intermediate restricted license can only have one other passenger in the vehicle UNLESS: * One or more of the passengers is age 21 or older and has a valid, unrestricted license; * The passengers are brothers and sisters, step-brothers or step-sisters, adopted or fostered children residing in the same house as the driver and going to and from school AND the intermediate restricted license holder has in their possession written permission from their parent or guardian to transport their siblings. Those with an intermediate restricted license are prohibited from driving between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. UNLESS: * They are accompanied by a parent or guardian; * They are accompanied by a licensed driver 21 or older who has been designated by the parent or guardian. This designation must be in writing and be in the possession of the teen driver; * They are driving to or from a specifically identified school sponsored activity or event and have in their possession written permission from a parent or guardian to do this; * They are driving to or from work and have in their possession written permission from a parent or guardian identifying the place of employment and authorizing the driver to go to and from work; * They are driving to or from hunting or fishing between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. and have in their possession a valid hunting or fishing license. For once I'm glad I'm old(er). Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  12. How much weight are we talking here? I have no problem putting weight on a student as a last resort, but only 4-8 lbs but I won't put them on them on their very first jump either though. If there is not an instructor at your DZ that can hang with you then you are down to 2 options, IMO. 1. Try to find a different dz that has an instructor that can go as slow as you; or 2. Put some weights on. I'm not talking 15-20 lbs, but with a 4-8 lbs placed correctly can help out alot. You will never learn to fly if you are bent in half or if no coach or instructor can hang with you. I was told immediatly after completing my AFF that if I was going to jump with them (the ones that really really helped me alot) I was going to have to wear weights. Eventually you may be able to lighten up on the weights or get rid of them all together. Best of luck to you!
  13. okay then, what do you think you should pay? What do you know to be the the bottom line cost on a full page in Parachutist? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  14. I'm sorry for your loss. Do you know how much it costs to create and print those pages? Obituaries cost money to put in news papers, I don't understand why you think Parachutist should do it for free. J Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  15. American Heritage Dictionary has a definition of a Christian as one who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or follows the religion based on the live and teachings of Jesus. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  16. Dave - in your opinion what is a "true" Christian? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  17. So what you are saying Dave is Catholic's aren't Christians? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  18. Maybe I will make some jell-o shots to help you out with those 4 ladies. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

  20. Now will to explain it to everyone else that doesn't get it. Good job! j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  21. I wouldn't put a pilot at risk by skydiving out of an airplane with a BASE rig on. It would be a violation and he/she would lose their license. So its not optional. I can, however jump from an airplane with a 2 parachutes, no RSL, skyhook, or aad and it would be legal as long as my reserve was in date. This question has me confused because it doesn't make any sense and I never said I wouldn't not rely on how I packed and inspected my gear. J Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  22. I don't base jump so a RESERVE parachute is NOT OPTIONAL. judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  23. Like a parachute? I didn't word it correctly for people to understand. Although I already explained this once, you probably didn't read that far. I won't RELY on any EXTRA OPTIONAL man made devices, it doesn't mean I won't install them on my gear, just means I plan on pulling all my own handles, unlike those how RELY on the extra's. 24. Good of you to admit it. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  25. Why would that be such a bad thing? BSR's are broke every day. You obviously are going to make your own choices regardless of others people years of experience. This was your quote about someone else on a different thread, but I found it rather funny considering... j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
