  1. Yes, and my recent birthday just put me in a higher age bracket, damnit! Just for you kiddo. Not meant to be fatalistic at all, just happens to be in my top ten all time favorite songs which I happen to think hold more truth than most youngsters suspect. To my mind at least, the song is profoundly moving and thought provoking. TIME: "And then one day you find Ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death." On the other hand I guess I could just ask nicely and see if Normiss will tell us how old you really feel. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  2. Why thank you! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  3. Y'know, I really gave that some thought. But then I'd eventually have to get into the age of the boobies, and that could get ugly in so many ways. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  4. Ding. Remember the good ole daze, when somone'd get sugar in his gas tank for being a dick? Not that I'd suggest. Finely crushed cork works much better; not that I'd suggest that either. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  5. That is in the running for the most profound and thought provoking statement I've ever read on this website!!! If you ever get to Utah (Provo, SLC, or Ogden) I will buy you a beer (OR your choice of beverage!) for that little nugget!
  6. Well damn. Looks like the Whippersnappers have a slight edge; I think we'll take Florida though...That oughtta even things out. Andrea- have you voted yet? G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  7. Overlap of 1 year is built in for a purpose. It's a government secret though, and if I told you, then I'd have to get you drunk enough to make you forget. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  8. LMAO at you both! If responses are to be posted, this is what I was hoping for. Levity will make you feel younger...well, 'cept for maybe Twardo. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  9. Strictly looking to test a hypothesis here, nothing more. I'm not interested in ages of skydivers or non skydivers as such, just the number of folks in each age group on this particular website. You don't have to post a reply to vote, but are welcome to add any comment you'd like if you have a desire to do so. Although, in thinking it through, it would be helpful if you would at least make a blank post, as the total posts could be checked against the poll. If everyone would be so kind as to be honest about their age, and only vote once, it would go a long way toward helping me out with this little research project. Thanks for your help, G Jones G. 10. Photos/scans of private citizens found all over the internet, near-fatal beatings of some who have teased others over their small 'members', belongings stolen by government agents, loss of dignity for any number of persons by having their diapers (young and old) examined and sexual parts groped is hardly "nothing." This country was founded on the concept of liberty and while your definition and my definition of "liberty" might be different; I'm pretty confident the Founding Fathers never considered the groping of testicles and breasts as being a liberty of the State. Privatizing airports may well help restore at least *some* dignity, but I honestly think we're too far into the government-funded rabbit hole to back out. Government wins, airport wins, the only loser is the traveller. Well said Douglas! Spot on, so to speak. I wonder If GQ jumper would be okay with the TSA treating jump operations the same way they do commercial flights; including the intrusive manual body searches? Wasn't that long ago that they wanted to, and would've, but for opposition from organizations like USPA and AOPA. Would the inconvenience of only being able to get in 2 or 3 jumps per day due to TSA delays be too much of an "infringement" for you? After all, I don't believe skydiving is mentioned in the Bill of Rights. Maybe they could install a nice cavity search booth near the boarding area to speed things up. That way you wouldn't have to pay $100 each for jump tickets to subsidize a backscatter machine. I'm with Paul (Quade) on this one. ETA Clarification. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  11. Brother in-law (at the time). A divorce settled the issue nicely. The BIL by no means caused the divorce (a drug addiction on her part closed out that 15 year chapter of my life...by my choice), it just happened that no longer having to tolerate his infantile behavior, while also supporting him financially was a rather nice by-product of the divorce. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  12. Mr Quade, I do believe you've hit the proverbial nail on the head. I can say that to you because I know you'll understand it, and not become indignant on behalf of nails all over the world. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  13. Not funny. Terribly sorry to have offended your delicate sense of decency. My sincerest apologies. Oh what the hell. On second thought, I really don't give a damn. Go ahead and take what I said about firefighters literally too. Have a nice day!
  14. Could you say that to Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly? Actually, I could say that to whomever I choose, as long as I'm breaking no law in the process. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  15. Now that is funny. ETA: skinnies make for much better reactive practice. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  16. Anyone who would choose to don bunker gear in 120º ambient, and of their own accord enter a multi level inferno has to be a bit "touched". Regardless, I think you should be able to own firearms. How else can you shoot the liberals? G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  17. Depends on a lot of things. Not the least of which is valve head diameter, lift and duration, and how the intake/exhaust is designed to flow (usually stated simply as how the head is "flowed"). Also, how well the combustion chamber volumes are matched. Balanced engines will have the heads "CC'd" for an exact match. Even the actual valve material will be taken into consideration. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  18. Yes. Immediately! You have all the classic warning signs of someone who may be a danger to hardened criminals. We can't have you running around randomly protecting yourself; that's what the police are for. Remember, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. You should immediately send all of your firearms to me for proper disposal... Address to follow. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  19. Keely: I know you wouldn't remember, but we've met (years ago, at the Bombshelter) and shared drinks and some good conversation. I like you...I really do. I've also Met Paul several times, and shared conversation over lunch a time or two. You both seem like reasonable people.... well, maybe not Paul (J/K Paul, I hope you know that ), so tell me this: How the hell are you supposed to handle talking bears without a BIG. FUCKING. GUN! On a serious note, this man got his guns back the same way people adjudicated as not guilty of a capital offense by reason of insanity or mental illness, are at times "treated" to bring them to a state of mental competency sufficient that they can then be executed for their crime(s). If a mentally incompetent individual can become competent enough to be executed for something they may not even know they did (but for someone telling them, and/or showing them evidence) I don't see why one could not have their 2nd amendment rights restored in a similar situation...hell, it's not like he actually killed a talking bear. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  20. I'm having trouble deciding between the Chinese model and the one from India. The Chinese company will offer me great financing options. I heard the one from India comes with telephone technical support from guys who claim their name is Bob, Jim or Dave. James What the hell happened to Peggy? Did she get fired for the sex change? There's protection under federal law for that you know. Oh, wait.... she's off-shore. Damn the bad luck. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  21. Nice to see you perpetuating the stereotype. I was starting to worry about you. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  22. LMAO! "Mother nature, mother in-laws, and mother fuckin Ukrainians!" G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  23. Umm. No. Although that is the ideal, it is not the reality. What is truly sad is what makes it so. A great majority of the bias that enters the process is introduced by counsel, the judiciary, or even advocates. UCLA School of Law Symposium: Implicit Bias in the Courtroom. 3rd March 2011. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  24. Okay...I'm not even gonna ask what that particular orifice might be confused with. Had to mark my shoulder "this one" (with an indelible marker no less) pre-op last year. Looks like I'll be doing the same thing with the same shoulder pretty soon. I'm thinking about having a stamp made this time just to screw with the Doc. Good luck Spot! You did write that on the correct leg didn't you? G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
