  1. Gotta disagree on this one. That one statement, carried to its logical end would catagorize anyone who ever leaves their home as "stupid." Besides the insanely low ratio of animal atacks to outdoor enthusiasts, "dangerous animals" come more frequently in the two legged variety. Better cancel that trip to the dz, cause chances are good that you'll encounter more dangerous animals doing that than going for a hike. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. 2. They've made my day many times. Just that little smile, or sometimes the snicker they bring. Especially in light of the tradition, I say give it hell!! Little things I think are sometimes the greatest way we can pay tribute to those we miss daily. Carry on Brother!! ETA- LMAO again. Just spin 'em around a couple of times on the way out the door to confuse 'em. You don't want something like that showing up when it's light outside. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. 3. Dude, your ever-changing sig line is always a source of amusement. I'm gonna have to coin one of my own though. How about: Elvisio "I haven't had an eye exam since I was six" Rodriguez? G. 4. Tell me you don't think she's cute! And added to her "hotness" is that she is wild! And I'm just saying, any place but NYC, it is rather hard to find cute/hot girls. Thus sure why not I would forgive her. Dude, there are a metric shit-ton of "cute/hot girls" out there who are: 1) Not white trash 2) Not "suspected" felons 3) Not strippers (I still think she looks like a $2 whore) 4) Not bat-shit crazy 5) Not from Georgia Maybe it's just me, but if I needed to "forgive" a woman for something right off the bat, that's an immediate disqualifier. Yeah...it's just you. Twardo, I gotta give you a sincere thank you for that one. Actually made me smile! Thanks!!
  5. Uncle Daddy, Uncle Daddy! Can we rob a bank today? G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

  7. You're right. Looks more like a cheap hooker with bad implants. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  8. *Snicker* Whotheyhosin? Maybe that's why she's smiling so big. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  9. Does Dave fit in a Kramer IWB 3, or is that a special order? Shoots the shit out of the rule of thumb for IWB carry and pants size too I'll bet. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

  11. You have touched the tip of the iceberg Deedy. For someone with a severe hearing deficit (not yet profound) there is only so much that can be done. Sometimes they do hear you; the trouble may be that they can't understand you. Just depends on their particular type of hearing loss. I understand that while it is a PITA trying to communicate in your situation, the person on the other end of the line deals with this every day- at the bank, the grocery store, hardware store, pharmacy. Everywhere. And if hearing aids aren't getting the job done, imagine just for a minute what these folks are struggling with daily just to make sure they maintain the necessities of life. For the most part, I can hear something, I just can't always make out exactly what. I learned long ago not to say "I can't hear you," as that only makes most folks yell. I make sure to tell them "I'm sorry, I can't understand you." Yelling usually serves to piss me off, then the message is irrelevant; we're done. I understand your frustration...trust me, I really do. I even see the humor in it sometimes, but deaf culture is quite complex. It goes far beyond the minor frustrations most non hearing-impaired individuals will ever notice- to the point where many in the Deaf community actually isolate themselves from the hearing world because they are so tired of dealing with the communication gap. It really is a mess. I'm sorry for the rant, and hope it didn't come across as being directed at you as it most certainly wasn't. Sounds like you handled the situation as best you could, and had a positive outcome. I applaud you for your patience. Even with the speech to text you mentioned there are problems though. The programs are complex, and depending on the software, may not work for those trying to use it. Thank you for your patience with those folks Deedy, I'm sure they appreciated it, even though it was frustrating for you. You did good. Best Regards, Greg G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. 12. Good choice also, but unless you're diabetic, or watching your girlish figure (Remy! ), you'll be needing those sugars. All kidding aside, Remster is correct. If you're consuming that much water per day, then you should be drinking an electrolyte solution from the first sip you take in the morning. I would go as far as keeping a pouch of CeraLyte for those times when you get busy or otherwise forget to hydrate until it's critical (Headache, dizziness, etc... and don't tell me it hasn't happened!). G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  13. Damn Dave, you're the only cop I actually like (and there are several in the family ), take care of yourself in that heat. REI sells an oral hydration powder called Vitalyte (original - unless you really need the Tri-Phase) that I use regularly and works great. The cost is reasonable too if you buy the 80 serving container ($16.00). G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  14. I'm gonna guess it was a Sawzall. Looks like maybe 18 TPI on the blade. How's your morning kiddo? Does the Don know it's your B-Day? G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  15. Well I'll be damned if you didn't. I do recall that now. This one was actually the Biceps tendon. Had surgery on this same shoulder in March of 2010 (closed, or arthroscopic, with a buttload of work). 4 months of PT, and a full year to completely heal. Didn't heal right and wound up with permanent/partial disability. Monday was a palliative procedure to attempt to alleviate chronic pain. Started out arthroscopic and wound up being an open procedure before all was said and done. 8 x 30mm hole just below the humeral head. The anterior/medial incision looks like it was done with a friggin jigsaw. Thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  16. Sorry to hear that. I'll bet nobody opened your shoulder and drilled holes in your bones though. I got Morphine. (and more straps and buckles than Da Gimp ). Hope your hand heals fast and doesn't give you too much grief. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  17. Happy B-Day sweetness! Hope you have a wonderful day, and relax and have a nice glass (or bottle ) of wine after work! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  18. It got too serious when talk of children asphyxiated by plastic bags was brought into the thread. I appreciate the advice about SC, but not interested. I'm sure dead babies will be a good topic for someone though. Nite. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  19. That's as far as I had to read. There'a a bunch of those type stories out there, but it is, in fact, just this type of incident that set some very slippery precedents for Tort law. IMHO, most of this shit really skyrocketed when Dan White's attorney concocted what became known as "The Twinky defense" in the Moscone/Milk case. I know. Criminal vs civil, but conceptually equivalent in absurdity. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  20. Ahhhh...a question for the philosophers. You're not by chance a liberal arts major?
  21. Know what, Mr Smarty-pants? Logic in this thread is completely uncalled for. What if the chauffeur is blind?? How will they know where to stick the card? Put some hair around the slot? Or some anchovy paste... G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

  23. "About 25 children in the United States suffocate each year due to plastic bags, most under the age of one.... ...This has led to voluntary warning labels on some bags which may pose a hazard to small children...." SOURCE: http://www.cpsc.gov/CPSCPUB/PUBS/5064.html Now, if those ("under the age of one") kids would just read the warnings, they could significantly reduce the number of frivolous lawsuits and huge monetary awards based on dumbass adults allowing them access to the bags in the first place. After all, that is why the warnings are there. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  24. That would be the 1971 Stoner (No, not the SAW) who bought the new quadraphonic stereo and had the munchies after setting it up. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
