  1. I guess there really aren't that many people on DZ.com anymore that were around for *that* Holiday Boogie experience... I most definitely was, officer. Some things actually aren't as cool at the time, as they turn out to be later. Not that it wasn't a shitload of fun back then.
  2. A whole bunch of companies use "Green" packing peanuts these days. They're made from corn starch to reduce the need for styrofoam. We used to eat them to fuck with people who didn't know about them yet. They actually dissolve when they come into contact with water. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  3. For the same reason they put Braille lettering on a drive through ATM... G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  4. George's. The Braised Lamb is quite good according to my sister (I don't do Lamb), as is the Maine Lobster Seafood Stew (My fave). As said earlier, make reservations for about an hour before sunset, and enjoy the view! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. Soooo.....

Fuck that! I used to work on their turret truck in Sparks, and I've seen how those fuckers play soccer with "next day" packages. And anything less than 2nd day is liable to show up repackaged and missing parts. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Would be good to see you. Don't be bummed about wed. 29's really not as bad as people make it out to be. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

I see my carbine in your avatar again.

    Soooo.....

It is...very comfy. You're a sweetheart Laurie. I really don't want anybody there though. I'm driving myself over, and if they don't keep me overnight I'll have Chad or Chris stop by and check me out, then I'll drive myself home. If the pain meds don't work, I'll stop by the Mormon owned evil liquor store on the way. It's all about the ratio. You know my rule. Now you know the exception. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. Soooo.....

To answer your original question; Winter weight NyCo cammies and a t-shirt, cause they're so damned comfortable! As for drinking, well...you already know the answer to that one. Subject to change based on how Monday goes though. Wanna go in for me? G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

I think maybe...just maybe, some of you need to stop and take a deep breath. (Although I replied to your post Remy, this isn't directed at you specifically.) Paul most definitely does NOT need someone to defend him, and that's not what this is about. It IS about a reality check. I had more than a few good belly laughs reading some of his posts (in several different threads) last night. While reading through the threads, it occured to me that a great majority of the respondents seemed to either miss, or dismiss his particular brand of dry humor. Which btw, he intersperses many of his posts with liberally (note the example of dry humor there?). There are any number of posters here who many consider extreme in some respect. There are posters who belabor their various positions ad nauseam, but guess what...when continually challenged on one's beliefs, and put in a position of defending one's convictions, this IS the proper response. Keep in mind also that one can have a strong conviction and still have room for flexibility. At the risk of having this post deleted, I'll give two examples: Abortion; one may strongly oppose abortion for any number of reasons, and be vocal and active in promoting that belief, while at the same time honestly holding that it is an acceptable thing in cases of rape or incest. Firearms; some who are opposed to general rights allowing firearms ownership will concede that they can be useful in critical self defense situations; they nearly always trump a knife. I disagree with a lot of paul's opinions, but then I agree with a fair amount of them too. The thing that some seem to miss is that regardless of his "Greenie" status, he's still allowed his opinions, and he's allowed to argue them as he sees fit, so long as he adheres to forum rules. How many members here have been known to cross-post on a subject? Paul's not the first, and he won't be the last. So, as someone once said: "Lighten up, Francis." And maybe, if you can stand the shock, take a look in the mirror once in awhile. Do you look perfect? If you can honestly answer yes, well, try a long walk off a short pier, reevaluate, and repeat as needed. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. 13. Yup...Like having a cigar named after you. Or, I could be wrong and it may have been taken as a compliment. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  14. Keely, that was very well stated. The very first sentence of your post exactly mirrors the way I go about my life daily. Not because I believe there's necessarily a negative consequence if I don't, but simply because I believe that's the way folks should treat one another. I don't factor a "higher power", whoever or whatever that may or may not be, into how I conduct myself. Be kind to people, whoever they are, and wherever you may find them. That's not to say I've succeeded in this philosophy all my life, but I've done my best. I've corrected some rude folks, and been corrected myself on occasion. Generally not due to rudeness on my part (although I can be, when I feel it's called for), but due to differences in opinion. It takes a bunch to get me to that point, but that point does exist. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  15. Where I'm from (not far from where you are) there was a saying, only partly in jest, that "The girls go out on Saturday night and sew their wild oats, then go to church Sunday morning and pray for crop failure." Just West of Gainesville....I still have family there and the reports are that nothing's changed over the last several generations. Small communities are a bitch like that. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  16. I laughed so hard it took me a minute to recover when I read that statement! In the spirit of this thread...PROVE IT! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  17. Actually, being predisposed to violence (as demonstrated by his irrational behavior, superiority complex, and threats of violence in the absence of aggression toward him...and BTW, having the opportunity and means to carry out those threats would justify one private citizen shooting another in a self defense scenario; why shouldn't it apply to a psychotic cop?), his right to even possess firearms should be summarily denied. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  18. We should be hearing Christianity referred to as a "religion of peace" at the slightest mention of it any day now.... G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  19. Nah... there was no rape and pillaging...... just berserking Vikings didn't have to allow for "getaway" time. This allowed them to rape and pillage at a leisurely pace. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  20. BINGO!! And therein lies the disparity of standards for the police vs private citizen. Not only should he be terminated, he should be brought up on criminal charges, and be compelled to answer for his actions in civil court. The guy is a loose cannon and makes decent cops' jobs that much more difficult. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  21. Only the ones who didn't take to bowling. "Smart Ad" is the correct answer. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  22. I'm not a doctor, of course, but that doesn't keep me from giving advice. I've found pain killers are only addictive if you're not taking them for pain. I and others I've known have taken them for extended periods for pain. When the pain lessened, so did the dosage. When the pain was gone, we quit taking them. No problem.
  23. Max- I appreciate your attempt at explaining your concept of faith based religion. I have no doubt that you're sincere in your belief system, and certainly respect your right to believe as you wish. I mean this sincerely, and without sarcasm. At the same time, I do need to point out that I haven't "fretted" about religion since my teen years. All the years in between have been spent with an open mind concerning religion (more properly, concerning the existence of a god, or supreme being), yet I've still not found the slightest evidence to convince me one way or the other. The kingdom of god is not within me; I have x-rays and MRI's to prove it. (That was sarcasm. ). You make the statement I interpret this to mean that you "enter the kingdom of god simply by expelling all doubt from your mind, and accepting that a god exists." The term Agnostic, when broken down into it's sub-parts simply means "pertaining to a lack of knowledge." Suffix: ic, meaning "pertaining to"; Root word: Gnosis, Greek in origin and meaning "knowledge"; and the prefix: A, meaning "no, or not". So one who is agnostic is simply saying they have insuffucient knowledge to sway them to either believe or disbelieve in a god, satan, or a heaven or hell. I do not profess to know that these things do not exist; the situation is quite the opposite. I can prove neither. As far as the 5 senses; they allow you to "construct your reality" regardless of faith. If I touch a red hot object with a bare hand, it is quite certain that I will receive a severe burn. Faith does not make it so, physics and the laws of thermodynamics do. Regards, Greg G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  24. Then I'm pretty sure I'm Fooked! Just what I always wanted; directions to a place no one can even prove exists. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  25. If a petite, blond, blue-eyed coed interrupted my Playboy experience with an offer of live sex, I'd call that divine intervention...absolutely divine! I'd most likely soon be screaming "Oh God...Oh God...OH GOD!!!!!" I'd call that an "escort service." G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
